  1. That's just been put to me. Another rule that's unclear. Anyone have the difinitive ruling?
  2. I agree, it's a pain for the club that's inconvenienced, but the way the ruling is written is ambiguous. It's clear the Rye v Poole meeting is not a rearranged fixture. Just because you're not in favour of the rule, doesn't make it invalid. Pretty sure they'll come down in favour of Edinburgh in this instance
  3. It's a great sport. It's the rules that are farcical Last time I was there a goat was wandering around the crowd near the start line!
  4. You don't really believe that. You know it, I know it and everyone else knows it
  5. That's not how it's worded "1) The Original Fixture if there is a clash with a re-arranged fixture" Technically, Rye House v Poole is not a rearranged fixture. Rearranged, by definition, infers the fixture should've taken place at some other time, but it's been in the schedule since the fixtures were announced. Going by the wording of the ruling Rye House should have priority. Nowhere in this particular ruling does it mention the riders schedule, only the team he's racing for. The double up/down rules need to be rewritten to reflect this.
  6. Last saw them at Rye in 1985, my first ever speedway meeting. They were the Wildcats then. Beat us 40-38
  7. Next thing you need to check is yourself in for counselling for even suggesting Barker for Rye House. Have you seen him race there?
  8. When was he last at his best? If your argument (flimsy at best) is to be taken seriously we should be looking to sign Ivan Mauger. Even if Wells scores 5 or 6 points a meeting that'll be a vast improvement on Watt
  9. An hour by plane from Edinburgh to Stansted with Ryanair. Done it a few times recently. Only problem is there's only one flight on a Saturday, departing at 7am!!May be better off having someone drive him half way down, stay at a hotel and continue the journey after breakfast
  10. Try telling that to some of the half-bakes on the Rye House Facebook group. I've never known such a bunch of brain dead morons. "Win as a team, lose as a team".... "Get on a speedway bike and see if you can do better"... "Why don't you tell Davey to his face" Idiots!
  11. Is it still 4 home/4 away league meetings for the new averages to take effect? Kings Lynn away on 24th May would be the fourth away meeting, unless the recent rain off is rescheduled before that date.
  12. NBJ purely for the reason Chris gave... no double up/down problems.
  13. I appreciate that, but I'll wager there are hundreds, probably thousands who do, but can't be bothered.
  14. He's available and would welcome a return. Average fits too
  15. My coffee table knows more about speedway than that Poole tool For regular speedway I like to pay a visit to my local track. If more people did that instead of relying on TV coverage perhaps it wouldn't be in such a mess
  16. Crap is a little harsh. No holes, not dangerous, just slick
  17. It would have to be written into the rules, otherwise unscrupulous promoters/team managers would think up any excuse to prevent it. I can see no end of problems and arguments, not worth the hassle. Kings Lynn (Porsing aside) got their set ups wrong. Didn't see many Swindon fans moaning last week. The track was the same then.
  18. Not allowed to overtake? Hmmmm... don't think that's in the rule book, but I'll have to check. I'm also a terrible loser, but nowhere near as bad as I was. It's the reason I stopped going to see us a KL for the last 2 or 3 years you were PL, but strangely continued to travel to Somerset where we were even worse! Hard to say as I've rarely seen the track with lots of shale down. Don't think the new exhausts help, but I'm no expert by any means. The one meeting I saw at Rye when it had loads of grip was a PL meeting with Sheffield a few years back. First meeting of the season. I recall riders getting into difficulty on the second turn and it reverted to its normal state for the rest of the season. There was a meeting on a rain soaked track, world U21 qualifier I think it was. Any other meeting and it would've been called off. A young lad by the name of Emil Sayfutdinov revelled in the conditions.
  19. Farce? It's still 4 laps on a speedway bike. Every rider starts from the same position.... Perhaps you're just a bad loser
  20. But his "injury" massively helped Swindon into the next round of the KOC
