  1. Well, you should know the team then. Speedway fans don't arf moan a lot. Jeeeez
  2. Very rarely to football teams announce their line ups more than a couple of hours before kick off. Why should speedway be any different?
  3. And so you should.... Nothing clever or honourable about a "my track is better than your track" argument. Pathetic and childish
  4. A few races from one particularly dull meeting. You can't base a whole argument on that. There have been some very good meetings at Rye this year, but of course that wouldn't fit in with your mindset
  5. Heat 15 😉 Agree, Kennett is not a top notch number 1 in this league, but with the make up of the side he's stuck there for now. Someone commented about his fitness and professionalism last night, but I wouldn't know anything about that. There's no doubt he's a small track specialist and around Rye he's the dogs bollo*ks. Most fans want to see their team win home meetings and this year (Swindon KOC apart) we've not been disappointed. To win trophies, however, you need a bit more than that. Currently I can't see anywhere we'll grab an away point, let alone a win. I suppose we've been unfortunate that teams have strengthened just before we've visited, Wolves, Somerset to name two and Swindon having a facility for the then out of form Adam Ellis helped to dump us out of the KOC. I never expected us to be title contenders, unlike some over excited Rockets fans posting on the Rye FB page, but unless we can grab something away we'll not see the play offs either. A season of consolidation is always the target I had in mind before the season and nothing I've seen so far has altered my thinking. *edit* Edward is currently averaging 10.07 from all home meetings and has won two out of the three heat 15's he's appeared in, so around Rye House he's definitely a number one.
  6. I should think Rob, Ellis and Robbo are racing with various niggles of some kind. Anyone who saw the state of Ellis after the meeting at Poole would find it remarkable he's back so quickly.
  7. You've come to that conclusion from watching a few heats on YouTube, or have you been to a few meetings at Rye this season to be able to give a fair assessment?
  8. Had a downpour around 2.30, lasted around 15 minutes. Pretty dark overhead
  9. Processional speedway with riders 30-40 feet apart at Berwick, or riders struggling to turn on a ploughed field at Rough Park... What a mouthwatering prospect
  10. I wouldn't take any notice of what Tonga says
  11. For f**k sake... A week has gone by and the same people are still banging on trying to get the last word in... Sad, very sad... Jeeeez
  12. Rye House are trying out a different shale as the usual stuff was unavailable. Was used for the first time in the last home meeting. Initial reports were favourable
  13. Been to many Rye House meetings recently? Why do you use bold type and italics?
  14. Except his average is over two points higher.
  15. Kids these days have short attention spans. They ain't gonna sit there 6 hours a day for 5 days. That's why 20/20 cricket was dreamed up. Perfect for TV, non stop action and over in 3 hours. When I was a kid you couldn't get a public tennis court during Wimbledon and for a week after. Nowadays you don't have that problem, if you can find any.
  16. It's the home teams prerogative to prepare the track to suit their riders, as long as it's safe, but let's not hear any more "dry house" jibes please. Ellis Perks hobbled past us, supported by someone, on his way back to the changing rooms. He didn't look in good shape. Kevlars were torn on his lower left leg
  17. A point will be massive, but it all depends on how we start the meeting. The first half a dozen heats will be crucial.
  18. The usual Shovlar & Starman pre match doom & gloom. Guys, everyone knows it's all an act 😂 At home Rye are decent, away they certainly ain't!
