A lot closer in this meet, again Stead was great and was well backed up by Wolbert and Poole not forgeting Lanham who seemed to be a different rider from the first meet. Thought the track stood up very well and was in great condition all evening, well done to all the track staff Good to see some Tigers fans at Derwent Park...thought they might have been put off after the last abandonment! So we qualify for the Play offs.....unless we improve our away performances i fear the worst...

Some good racing in this match, especially Joe Jacobs pass to go from last to second for a Worky 5-1..

Comets take on the Sheffield Tigers in the first of two meets which are must wins if the Comets are to qualify for the Play offs.

Nothing official yet. As someone has pointed out fixtures have not been helped by the doubling up riders, riders in teams on the continent, weather , other circumstances ( )... Not the best of years for the Comets with injuries, no continuity in fixtures, the weather......hopefully we will be back next year... Oh a fairly sensible post.

Well the obvious answer is to run the season from February to November and extend the Play off teams to eight but will the BSPA listen to the fans....we will see next year.

Not a bad meeting but Worky after making half decent starts were picked off by the Tigers and apart from the 8-1 to the Comets would have been in for a bigger defeat! Kyle looked to be struggling big time to get round the track and i had hoped for better after his swashbuckling rides on Saturday night. Josh and Ricky rode well for the Comets and although Rene tried hard and came down hard going for a gap that was rapidly getting smaller! My comment about fans returning to tracks was open ended i know someone who complained about a promotion regarding monies being repaid after a rain off fell on deaf ears after many e mails to the promoters and the BSPA, even went to the trading standards who were next to useless.........finally gave up and is very dissillusioned with the sport in general. The person in question has been attending many tracks and GP,s all over the country and introduced me to the sport thirty five years ago.

Cannot see Workington gatting any points today, surely Birks and Klindt will score more than the two points from last night at Worky, only hope is that Jacobs and Lambo score a bagful of points but Scorpions have Howe at reserve too.

Scunthopre were a much better team than the earlier Rye match but even they had Klindt and Birks a little off form...Auty was very good , as for the booing Speedway fans have long memories. A very long night of Speedway, these double headers are not ideal but we are where we are! Well done again to Joe Jacobs, a great wee rider.

Agree with this point Spin King, ithink some fans have got mixed up and think they are going to a funeral.

Good luck with your claim but dont hold out much hope, same with rain off meets in the UK , fans fobbed off and ignored....yeah but we will always return....

Workington away at Plymouth on Friday then a double header on Saturday then an afternoon fixture at Scunthorpe on Sunday... a tortuous weekend for man and machine.....not an ideal situation
