  1. Home track advantage.....doesnt every Club prepare the track to the way the home riders want it...in an ideal world the track would be prepared to the liking of all the riders but its never going to happen except in the case of the GP's and even then the track curator seems to lack total control sometimes. Workington were very good on Saturday and were helped by two good guests but its all swings and roundabouts at Ipswich Doyle was a very good guest for Barker whilst for Workington the No7 guest failed to score. I really thought Ipswich would go through to the next round with the twenty point advantage but Risager, Lanham and Tungate were Poor althougth Tungate did try very hard. Oh well just Somerset to face in the next round.. Oh and whats all the fuss about Barker, ok he hit the boards and had an ef, he did not fall and hurt himself!

  3. I think Taylorj may have some comments to make...........................
  4. Fantastic result from the Comets but first i hope Cameron Heeps is ok, he got up after a fairly innocuous looking fall and then there were two ambulances on the track, the announcer said he was suffering from neck pain. A great team display helped by the two guest Dyer and Cook although Ashley Morris struggled tonight but we lose as a team and win as team and Ash did score well at Ippo. May post some photo's tomorrow. Well done again Worky. :approve:
  5. Weather forecast looking ok but will probably be Cold, season tickets are valid for this meeting.
  6. Cook and Dyer guest for the Comets and Ben Barker returns to the Ipswich side.
  7. Workington have a big mountain to climb to claw back the 20 point deficit from the first leg at Ipswich on Thursday night...... Oh well we'll give it a good go!! Will Richard Lawson be fit, will Ben Barker be fit, who will guest for Chris Mills?
  8. Cant see Worky pulling 20pts back at Derwent Park, would take a monumental effort.
  9. Back to the meet tonight, hope its a good match for all concerned and a safe night for all the riders. Get well soon Richard Lawson, hope he is fit to take his place on Saturday night.
  10. The return match is on Saturday night, hopefully we (Comets) can keep it close at Ipswich who are packing a strong team.....50-40?
  11. I can only see Newcastle being stronger when Andrew Tully comes back from injury.
  12. Solid display from Newcastle, Worky did well to keep it respectable as it looked like a thumping at one point!
  13. A few wee snaps from last night: http://www.flickr.com/photos/24294606@N04/
  14. Why , one point defeat away from home, as with the League and in matches its how you finish not how you start!!
  15. The re starts did not help either side, seems like ref's interpret the rules in their own way. Newcastle are a strong side and will be even stronger when Andrew Tully returns as his r/r points only totalled 5pts. Lewis Kerr is a great prospect and could prove to be the Diamonds improved rider that helps them towards League success.
  16. Agree with the prompt start times, keep the meeting flowing if possible and the interest up. I know its not always possible with re starts and falls, etc but it can only be a good thing to have a definite start time, especially in the cold weather we have been experiencing lately.
  17. Many fans in the PL giving teams/riders stick this early in the season, PL has not even started yet, some people need to get real...........but they will not.
