Giving the idiots who organized this ridiculous format an uppercut would be more appropriate.  With half the competitors 2 or 3 levels below the top riders why would you expect a crowd.  One of the world's best stadiums/venues and nobody in it.  Put the lesser teams in a B competition and have them ride at venues where national pride ensures home crowd involvement.

Time will tell won't it, if he's a special talent or if his sudden upturn in form (which to be fair has lasted for a couple of years now) is a flash in the pan.

There are so many riders through the years that find the winning formula but are then just unable to repeat it and spend the rest of their careers in search of it, despite changing everything and then returning to what got them success in the first place.

Of course there are other factors in play, I'm just saying that sometimes some engines are more equal than others it just the way they come off the assembly line, nothing untoward going on from any riders.

I don't think people are bothered about a speedway rider/ sportsman changing their nationality necessarily, but they absolutely should not be able to represent their 'new' nation in a senior event if they have already done so for their original country (a la football).

Smarslik can pass though that’s the difference.He not a 6 times World Champion for nothing.Quite a few don’t want to give him the credit he deserves.Peter Oakes in SS being one of them. His column was sour grapes.
