Doesn't guarantee more points though, otherwise Foord would have a higher average than Starke (he doesn't). I saw the heat 12 5-1, where Foord passed Starke. I thought all four riders were in close contention & it was a brilliant race to watch. Massive credit to Foord. But even forth placed Kerr wasn't much behind race winner Zischke. It wasn't like Kerr & Starke were tailed off & unlikely to score.

Far too early to say but the most recent new foreigners Nagel & Klima haven't set the league on fire (yet). Would Poole be able to find 2 x 4 pointers better than Kerr & Starke (a 5 & 4 doesn't fit)? I'd also assume Glasgow & Plymouth signed the strongest riders willing to come over. I have never wanted any rider sacked. Shock horror a team loses away from home! However if we are going to discuss this, then Weds nights might fit in better for Swedes and Poles rather than Fridays and Saturdays. Especially for any Polish riders. Garry May did actually say a number of riders say no because of riding on Saturdays.

Gavan
Strange bunch some Poole fans … everytime they get beat they are asking for riders to get sacked that’s crazy as they hardly lose!!! Sometimes you will have bad days that’s sport but why don’t the fans support the riders?? I think Shovlar thinks Starke should be getting 7 or 8 a meeting …. He won’t his average dictates he won’t

Maybe not yet but Nagels is much better than his average and will be a great signing for Glasgow.

I'm hoping we can keep it tighter, we will see. UTC ! Ok, eating humble pie today. From what I witnessed yesterday, Poole are now a bang-average team and no longer the bogey team that everybody used to fear. The loss of Tom Brennan and Ben Cook obviously being the big leveller, Lawson carried the bulk of the work yesterday with not much back up. A good, solid, all-round performance from what I would have thought would have been a ring-rusty Comets, good to see Tate Zische getting back to where he was last season, also Frazer Bowes has improved noticeably from earlier on in the season.

I still think we are the team to beat just an off night, I dont think there will be team changes, the riders we have just need to improve a little. Workington riders wanted it more after a few meetings were postponed recently.
topaz325
Poole are still favourites for the League in my opinion , beaten by the better team yesterday . Some of the comments by Poole fans regarding sacking riders is rather crass. I must mention Tates pass in heat 5 , 😳 As Roy said like a knife through butter !! Neila
Poole had 8 heat wins to 7 comets, but 10 last places can't win meetings with that many last places, that's where to problem was for Poole yesterday

I was in my usual position ,on the back straight, and looking over at the home straight opposite my mate and I both were of the opinion it was the least populated for many a match - was very sparsely attended. But there seemed more around us than normal. Talking to fans next to us they said because the back straight was in the shade, very very warm day, they, and many others, had left the 'hot spot' down the home straight for comforts sake. So all things considered probably disappointing for Andrew and co. ???

Opening the 3rd and 4th bend for viewing has probably stretched it out considerably. I couldn't see many empty spaces and a lot were sitting, stood on the decking areas, and on the standing platforms.
