TTT
Don't think tonight was a shock at all, Ipswich haven't been good for a couple of weeks now. Brennan hasn't morphed into the signing that I thought he was going to be, Riding too much perhaps? But he's gone backwards in a big way this year after improving year on year.
stevebrum
Well done the Stars on that result. Congratulations. the Witches have more pressing issues all firing for September. I can’t see past them for the aggregate win over any team in the top 4. Some of them had a proper wobble tonight. save it till September.

I just think some of our riders were way off the pace and we can say it’s the track or the call in heat 14 but end of the day they’ve done us multiple times this season so let’s just admit we’re are not what we once thought we were a few months back. Jenkins wouldn’t have got many more than Edwards so it’s just a very very very poor home performance and the biggest joke it was Hawkins stated on Monday, we have bigger fish to fry on Thursday… that one aged well didn’t it. First time this season I’ve came away from Foxhall genuinely P!ssed off with majority of the team. All these 60-30 wins and you can’t beat your local rival when it matters.

Not only was there no contact, it wasn’t even close! I probably had the best view in the house for this incident. Up in the VIP box between first and second bend thanks to Arch. Fact is, Dan passed Kerr up the inside going up the back straight. That then took him wide around bends three and four. Kerr then came steaming down the inside of Dan down the home straight, Dan saw him coming through, panicked and laid it down. I hope this heat gets replayed via rerun so everyone can see. If I’ve got it wrong, I’ll hold my hands up. Pretty sure I haven’t though.

Emil and Doylie albeit still great riders are not putting in the 14's they once did. 10 to 12 now the normal scores (from 5) so the only way Ipswich will win the premiership is if the slack is taken up elsewhere and it seems to me that with Ellis, King and Brennan only one of them usually turns up at any match, certainly away from home. He should be worried that large leads were squandered at Birmingham in April, Oxford last week and now Lynn. And they are the worst teams so it time for them to buck up or prepare for another year of disappointment. I rest my case lol
ShanoXtra
I still think Brennan already thinks he has made it now he is in Poland. What’s the crack with before the meeting when they go to practise the starts he first rides round popping wheelies, I hope it’s to do his balance and not to actually practise celebrations because he didn’t even pop one last night after coming last a few times! Rocks up in a tricked out motor like a boss and Emil and Doyle just just a basic ford customs size van and they are the real superstars. Saw them both hop in one van last night with Kvech and they both looked p!ssed off… probably because nobody put in a shift and they almost dragged us into the final. Woke up today and read Hawkins comments, at least he is honest and basically said everyone was sh!t apart from Doyle and Emil. If they go and get 60+ next week vs Birmingham I think it’ll annoy me even more when it doesn’t count to hardly anything.

Definitely no contact. it was an excellent ride by Thompson to work his way under Kerr off the second bend - he had tried it the previous lap and obviously thought if he got it right it would work, and it did. Unfortunately, he then made entirely the wrong choice entering the first bend on the final lap - I wonder if the track had got Thompson confused, and he thought he'd be better off trying to put his back wheel on the grippy line, instead of trusting the inside that had served him so well? As it is, Kerr saw a big gap, took advantage, and Thompson had nowhere to go on the outside, which offered nothing at all. The Ref would have had a clear view. When offered such a gap, any rider would have done what Kerr did - if it had been an Witch inside a Star, I'm sure the fans would have been miffed if the Witch had been excluded. Overall, the Witches should never have been in the position of needing three 5-1s in the last three heats at home! KL did just about everything right - and earned a (cough) well-deserved aggregate victory.

Don't want to hear any excuses, ah so and so had bike problems, a bit of bad luck etc. It's happened one too many times now. This team is not going to win anything this year if they continue to perform like this. Kings Lynn were fired up and fighting for every point, that was clear, we just seemed to be out for a gentle stroll. With the team we have on paper, these performances are just not good enough.

Kings Lynn were fired up and fighting for every point, that was clear, we just seemed to be out for a gentle stroll. With the team we have on paper, these performances are just not good enough. For a team that, after Sheffield lost Woffy, had, at least, a one point advantage in the averages, over the nearest team, they should walk the league.. Especially when you consider that the team building is based on 14 heats and they have Emil and Doyle in most H15's so, in reality, that one point advantage in averages is probably around three, given those two will "4-2" at worst, many H15's... All their riders were in the top two for their positions if you could cherry pick them, with several being the best for that riding number... The reduction for UK riders was used brilliantly by Chris Louis to get this septet together... Brennan was a main HL for Brum last year and rides now at the easier No3 position.. Their RS was considered the best.... Ellis and King have struggled sometimes at No3 but this year don't have that pressure... And, in Dan T, they have an excellent No6, with a great future in the sport... Add in a truly World Class spearhead and I thought no one could live with them... Still easily the team to best if all hit their straps but I would imagine there are some doubts creeping in...

Roger Jacobs
I still can't get over how differently the track behaved compared to last week - there simply wasn't the outside line that King used to such excellent effect. Several riders got caught out (including Doyle who looked uncomfortable on the outside of Bend 2 on more than one occasion) - and KL soon sussed that if you made your opponent go wide, you had the advantage. Also, which I found interesting, was the complete lack of atmosphere. The attendance was no different to last week's match against Belle Vue. Maybe a dozen KL fans? Certainly no noisy group of them during the match - just a few cheers when the team paraded to very empty terraces. Overall though: an splendid effort by the Stars, and a comparatively poor one by the Witches.

He isnt riding Championship so I doubt its too much, just not in great form although he I believe be does not do very well when riding every day and the travelling. I remember last season in the play offs he was riding every day and travelling a lot and he was awful at Oxford in the first leg,he just looked drained but had recovered at Poole and was very good. If that is the case and he doesn’t perform very well when travelling I think he might be in the wrong sport! Either that or he will never become a complete rider. When you have GPs to add into the mix others just get on with it. I think he knows he let the club and the fans down by lack of social media last night and today! Thompson has been a shining light for us so often so it was hard to see him so poor last night, I know that Richie said he had an ear infection but all I hear every time we lose is excuses and I’m done with it. If we won (which would could of with a few more points from falls etc) we wouldn’t hear any excuses. The fact you fight all year to get to these matches with some significants and then just don’t turn up is why I went away frustrated. The uproar of emotion in the stadium when Kerr went hard on Thompson was actually probably just as much anger and frustration at our own teams performance and it finally came out of everyone! szkocjasid
One thing that confuses me, so Rob Lyon wanted to use Harrison in heat 15 for his 3rd ride, so why not just use him in heat 13 instead? It would be against the same 2 Ipswich riders? Why would using Harrison in 15 be any more beneficial than in 13? Either way allows Klindt in 12 & 14! Even if the argument was to not take a ride away from Lawson in heat 13, you could just give him heat 15 instead.
