On a not too great track, he took zero risks.....

Finished on eight off four...

Just like last night, if you gated first then great, if you didn't, then just make sure you didn't crash...

Last night, riders kept themselves several bike lengths apart due to their vision being impacted if too close to the rider in front, and also the higher than usual risk of the rider in front falling and then getting collected by the rider behind if he was too close...

And any riders using the outside ran the risk of locking up and high siding..

I saw the replay of one race and Brady struggled to turn the bike, straightened up, and locked up badly on bend four...

He then got filled in by whoever was third....

Easily could have high sided and bust a collarbone..

I think that ride made his mind up for the rest of the night...

You would think Brady was a junior the way you describe him.!struggling to turn ,locking up etc. What was really wrong  it appeared he make no effort to rectify his situation .Just decided he had enough. Robbing the fans.

Reminded me of Ashton Boughen!

The difference with Boughen was he obviously has some sort of mental block around other riders and imo made the correct decision to leave the sport,Kurtz doesn’t but seems couldn’t care less about BV chances of winning the league or its fans

Bizarrely, some BV fans seem to love that though 🤷‍♂️

I also believe Kurtz only tried in his last ride was for personal reasons, speedway is a massive psychological sport especially at the top and the old saying you’re only as good as your last ride is very true, he wouldn’t want to leave that stadium without a good last ride because it will fester in the back of your mind as you sit in the van or on a plane to your next meeting, interestingly zmarzlik also won his only race win in his last race in Sweden

Yes i dont get, its like Brady has ridden for the Aces for 5 years,  been a great captain and delivered on many occasions🤔.  Now if he'd done all that id forgive him for 1 meeting in horrendous conditions right before the biggest meeting of his life.  If only hey.🤔

They'll all be there next week...

And at the start of next season...

The sport now has die hards immune to the operating model, and immune to any "Barry White" served up on poorly prepared tracks..

Augmented by a few hundred at every track that attend play offs or BH's...

If I was a rider last night, my thoughts would be about getting away in one piece, particularly if I had major meetings coming up in Poland and Denmark..

Not sure I would be worried about the views of someone who felt they had the right to expect me to take what I maybe felt were undue risks on a poor surface, given its my career that could be impacted by any crash..

It would be interesting to hear from Sheffield fans who attended the called off meeting the other week, when some Ipswich riders as well as some Sheffield riders wouldn't ride, as to how much worse their track was compared to last nights...

Lads earning £500k (plus, and then some) in Poland need to sometimes ensure they look after No1..

Bottom line is, provide a race track that gives four lads in every race confidence they can use all the circuit, and ride closely together, and this thread wouldn't be discussing whether riders tried or not...

And a decent race track is the MINIMUM you should expect as a fan, as everything else comes from that...

Never settle for the point

He put more effort into that race than most of the aces team, won't criticize him for that

There is no way in the world it should have been called off … no riders or the referee even looked at the track …. To many riders these days can’t stand a bit of a tricky track because of the weather mainly Aussies to be fair

Doyle , King , Brennan , Ellis and Thompson all overtook riders last night …. Even Edwards from the graveyard gate 4 rode around the outside on the first 2 bends to join Doyle ….. some riders wanted it and some didn’t

Lidsey away from the vast open spaces of his home track is a gating tart and was never likely to pass or attempt to pass anyone

I would have suggested if there wasn’t a GP next weekend then Bewley would have had a proper go at getting past Dan T but he was content to sit third

Kurtz is Belle Vue captain ….. King said afterwards the pressure to perform as captain is high and Brady didn’t bother … shutting off all the time and even when he had the coveted inside gate he didn’t bother …. If your captain can’t be interested what message does that send to the rest of the team ?

Let’s say Kurtz signs again for the aces … would any young rider look up to him knowing that when it comes to the crunch he can’t be bothered

After 26 years of failure, Kurtz has been instrumental in winning the Aces TWO titles and played a huge part in getting them to play offs year on year...

He obviously can be bothered then you could summise...B)

What's wrong with Etheridge?

Nothing, it was a generalisation about the team. Leicester have been much more enjoyable to watch and listen to.

I know he is Jonny, one Ipswich fan sitting near me was having a moan which he seems to do at every meeting when it happened and I told him to shut up at least Adam is trying!

Also begs the question, if everyone knew this would happen, why was this the first set of play off's to be staged with two riders going for podium places in the GP 2 days later, with a poor forecast.

Decision was announced 3 days after the last GP round so it wasn't a surprise that 2 of the Belle Vue team would be up for some serious silver wear 2 days later

Fair call....

However, in Div 2 one of their semi finals has been arranged knowing three guests will be needed for one of the sides...

Don't help themselves do they?

Lads earning £500k + should just in Poland and not ride over for their “ pocket money .

“These fixtures are only qualifiers we’ll be there when it really matters”

”Let’s wait until September”

Well Belle Vue stank in the “qualifiers”, and then they stank in the play offs too. Who’d have thunk it!

Where is Acebelle and Ouch by the way? They seemed to have disappeared..
