Just in the mood for a rant, feel clubs need to support each other more to keep Speedway alive.

Last year Oxford & Birmingham were clearly miles below the strengths of the others, but that didn't bother them, now they are gone (Birmingham probably would be anyway).

Now it's almost like Champ clubs are of the opinion "my league is fine, I don't care if the other 5 teams close" - I may be exaggerating obviously.

But my original comment, was really to defend Prem clubs trying to keep their league alive.

Anyway, I better mention Glasgow, as it's their page - looks a really decent side, Hodder as the weaker reserve & Hagon dropping down from second string to reserve, should boost his scores.

Could be the best heat leader trio on the league. Then 2 exciting newcomers, if I was a Glasgow fan I'd be delighted.

Glasgow Team looks exciting with the 2 new guys.Bit of pressure on Flint to step up if they donโ€™t. IMO

That's a bit harsh on the Prem clubs, can't be easy with only 5 clubs "brave" enough to race in the top division, one of these not willing to race in a 5 team league apparently.

If Glasgow were willing to be a Prem team then it'll all have been decided in a November AGM.

Glasgow are clearly the best set to step up, but if they are happy to be a big fish in a little pond, can't force them to move up.

A lot of what they do screams professionalism, feel they look like a "Premier" promotion.

Glasgow certainly could be in the premiership, but business wise it isnโ€™t smart.ย
Oxford and Birmingham prove that.ย
Poole could be but financially would be a silly idea.ย
If for example belle Vue decided to drop down like Poole did. Theyโ€™d never want to move back up. The only difference between the leagues are the big names. Entertainment wise thereโ€™s not a huge amount in it.

No way would any proper speedway fan not care if another team had to closeโ€ฆโ€ฆbut I can certainly understand why no Championship supporter would want their league or team compromised to protect a league that was failing through no fault of theirs.ย

Think Glasgow are being smart rather thanโ€braveโ€.Thats why they are successful business men. They have worked hard to get Tigers to this position ,no need to throw it all away.IMO

Entertainment wise?

I would suggest with Glasgow, Scunthorpe, Redcar, and Workington, the second tier, overall, delivers better racing...

With, the NSS being the only top tier track that consistently delivers a similar standard...ย

Glasgow arenโ€™t just being smart business wise for their own benefit either, losing them would affect all the northern clubs.

Glasgow bring a big following to Berwick for sure and Iโ€™m sure they take it to the other northern venues too, theyโ€™d also lose virtually all the away support they get at Ashfield.

It would be a lose lose situation for those with the most at stake.

There is nothing โ€œbraveโ€ about what the teams in the Premiership are doing, itโ€™s business suicide for most, you just need to look at recent history.

Looks an exciting side for Glasgow and two newcomers to British Speedway to boot. Goes to show there are other riders out there willing to come ride here.ย

Applaud the promotion for sticking to their guns and not taking a bullet for the top tier.ย

May as well give the title to Glasgow right now. Even Cami knickers canโ€™t mess this up.

Question is, will they manage the treble? Clear favourites by the proverbial mile. Hearing the Faccenas have ordered a large pot of Brasso. ย

yeah, if they've got another Nagel - league favourites, if it's another Ivacic - could probably still make the top 4, but not win any silverware?
