Poole fans keep mentioning the Bowes double figure score at Wimborne on his 1st visit but he also scored 2 Points from 4 Rides on his second visit to Wimborne this year.

I think Poole are the strongest team at reserve assuming Rushen is the No.7 but the confirmed / rumoured 1-5 is weaker than Glasgow and Oxford's confirmed / rumoured 1-5.

Agreed think pooles 1-5 will be weaker than Oxford’s rumoured top 5 and Glasgow well we will wait and see as they have 2 unknown riders in at 2&4.

And as you say Poole look strong in the reserve berth with the potential signing of Cooper Rushen,on paper one of the stronger pairings but not many reserve pairings have been announced yet, actually thinking about it I would have to say Redcars reserve pairing has to be the strongest looking at it again.

Where are those averages available?

Don’t know where Bonjangles got them from, but they are all available on GBSpeedway. It’s a fantastic site if you’ve never used it before…

Poole will certainly be in the playoffs, but I think you’re over estimating how good the team is, could be league winners, but it isn’t a foregone conclusion like some previous years, and I agree with others who have said it’s the poorest starting 7 they’ve had possibly since the start of their Championship days.

I suppose it's possible Poole could be favourites for the league, while also appearing to have they'd poorest starting 7, because the points limit keeps getting lowered.

If you compare a team to their opponents they can look strong, but compare them to the previous seasons side & they can look weak(er).

It’s tough to compare Pooles team to Glasgows as 2 or their riders I’ve never seen. I fancy us over Redcarr and also over Oxford, although we don’t know Oxfords reserves yet so it is too early to say.

The four teams all look very good, the difference is that Poole will have two 'cheat codes' at reserve. Oxford and Glasgow just don't/won't compare to Coops & Cairns, and although Redcar's reserve look very good also I don't think they match the others top five wise.

Rushen could have the kind of impact on senior speedway that is very rarely seen by sixteen year old.

Spot on Bagpuss as ever the key is having a rider come in on false average and Poole have not one but two young lads who will be prime examples of this. Then so long as the top five are half decent you will be there or there abouts.

Well Poole have one of the best riders in this league , Zach Cook if back should really push on and Gilkes if he stays injury free has potential as well.

Final point the Fords don't also hang around if they are struggling at the halfway stage.

Yeah, exactly that. GB Speedway is our version of Wisden (at least since 2010).

To find a riders average: If you go into the British Speedway website, click on the 3 lines at the top left to open the menu, click on Championship and then 2025 declarations, and then click on issue 27 amended at the bottom of that list. That gives you ask the rider averages (by team) using column A. Multiply any Brit by 97.5% to get their reduced average for team building

Thanks mate. Appreciate this, but I wasn’t actually looking for his average.

I merely referenced how strong an asset Cairns would be at reserve, but that I wasn’t aware of his average.

That simple comment grew arms and legs for reasons highlighted above, but which aren’t worth revisiting.

Not sure about that Glasgow could have two riders that could increase their starting average massively especially Pedersen and Sam Hagon is better than his current average, had some very good rides at Poole not that long ago and Hodder also did well last season I thought.

personally think there are some big question marks over the Glasgow team and not sure why everyone has slotted them in as favourites.

If Rushen signs then Poole are by far the clear favourites for the league.

The key for Glasgow is their new riders, Hausl not sure about but Pedersen looks a very good addition who could do a Nagel and increase his average by 2 points also Sam Hagon is better than his current average. They also have a edge over Poole in the heat leader department, Flint seems to be improving which could be a big plus for them.

Spot on and that is why Poole will be hard to beat next season.

I really rate Cairns and I’m sure his reserve partner will be capable, knowing Poole’s team building abilities, but I’m surprised the Hagon/Hodder pairing are being written off above.

I think our reserves will surprise a few.

Cairns did do well in his first half a season, he can be fast but still has plenty of particularly race craft to learn, how to pressure riders in front and how to overtake. He would do well to study Jodi Scott's rides in the Knockout final at Wimborne Road.

Redcar look a well balance team to me, could be a good season for them.

Totally agree, but for sixteen years-old, wow. We don’t want to put too much pressure on him, but the sky is the limit. An abundance of potential.

Physically, he’s so much more of a presence on the bike than many riders older than him.

Spot on regarding Scott too. He was outstanding in the Wimborne Road fixture.
