But if it was a 6pm start and a cloudy day the night skies would be here around 8pm. The comets will be having a Ben fund collection and the meteors also have their final meeting, so if any type of delay the bikes would need lights to finish the meeting

So why advertise the fixture as 6pm all the way through the season until last week?

Whats the weather like down Worky way today??

Bone dry, hasn't been a single drop today and nothing in the last 24 hours either, thought when I looked at the forecast yesterday that the postponement was a bit premature.  Workington Reds football at home today, Town v Haven tomorrow, Speedway World Cup later this afternoon (with Charles Wright absent from the Redcar side), if I were cynical I'd say it had been called off due to expected low attendance rather then the weather........

Why shouldn't a Poole fan be able to ask about the weather in Workington?- it's an open forum!

Been bone dry all day in Workington - warm with sunny periods. Perfect compared to most parts of the country especially for football - or speedway.

Nearly a 1000 fans turned up at Derwent Fibrus Park for the Workington Reds game. So if the speedway had been on I would imagine the crowd would definitely be on the low side.
