Irreplaceable really, maybe Fricke, but realistically it's going to be the likes of Masters, Brennan, Cook, King or Harris etc. I never saw what the issue was with the 1995/96 model. Everyone with an out and out number 1 and a selection of riders on 5 6 and 7 point averages. I thought it was great seeing different opponents every week, but clearly that's common sense 🤔

Surely from a cost perspective, potential promotions such as Cradley, Coventry Peterborough and the likes would see it as a sustainable business model. Clearly not! Emil no longer has a valid work visa so even if he was willing to come over he couldnt I suppose if they really wanted him and started the process straight away that there is chance the admin could be complete in time for the play offs Edited May 24 by dontforgetthefueltapsbruv

The "have nots" have always seemed quite happy being a "have not" as it made their season cost affordable.... I suppose it all goes back to a lack of tangible big financial rewards for winning... No point spending excessive money you cannot afford, to come top, and increased costs being your only "reward"... And, as we know, win most of your home meetings and, regardless of where you are in the league, your crowds won't fluctuate much...
Col
Lindsey guest for Bewley, Howarth guest for Kildemand & K Thomson guest for Blodorn on Monday. Think I'll give it a miss

Clearly not! The thing is all three of those tracks from a fanbase point of view so long as run to a sensible budget were sustainable it was the issue of the tracks being sold for housing that did them in. That's the Rob Godfrey business model to a t Mike at least until Harry has got that deal for some Arabs based in Dubai to take over the operating model of the sport.

IainB
Blödorn wins the Auerhahnpokal in Teterow ahead of Sajfutdinow and Thorssell. However, a nasty incident took place. Following a crash, Blödorn apparently kicked Mario Häusl, who was lying on the track.

I thought it was great seeing different opponents every week, but clearly that's common sense 🤔 I very much enjoyed that season, but it's not quite how you remember it. Every club didn't have an out & out number one, as the Previous Div 1 sides wouldn't share them out, same still happens now. Back then there would be enough number ones for 15 clubs, now we don't enough for the 6 Prem teams. Plus not enough riders to go around. If it ever happened, there would be more guests available, but don't see how it can. For now, who could Belle Vue bring in place of Bewley? Any top riders willing to ride in GB & affordable, would likely already be here.

InTheDeepStuff
Laguta and Kubera injured in Sweden tonight, can imagine the Polish teams not giving riders any new start permissions other than what they signed at start of season which could put the kybosh on any new signings for Belle Vue especially if looking at any Ekstraliga riders.

mikebv
Wetherspoons? Is that still going?...😁 Edit. What a great opportunity for the Aces to be at the opening and invite both CEO and the founder to the NSS... Plus invite staff from the many Wetherspoons knocking around Grt Manchester... Adverts for the Aces in every one of them!!! Edited 4 hours ago by mikebv

I'm pretty sure the new venue isn't called that, just the team ?
