spin king junior
For a club like Ipswich to be put up for sale who hold a regular decent crowd and just won the league just shows no one is safe. If a club like Ipswich can't succeed then no one can and quite simply the days of top flight racing in Britain is done. You'd think/hope someone like Guy Nicholl will be in, I cant see him letting the club go under.

ShanoXtra
People thinking the club was in any problems are mistaken. It’s not that Chris can’t do it anymore, it’s that every other club can’t run as professional as his so they have to create one league which Chris is against, he would rather walk away with his team he wanted than bow down to other clubs forcing him to ride in one watered down league with a weak team, I don’t blame him. People keep wanting one league, have it now, and watch all of British speedway fail. I am very glad we finally won a league title under Chris and with such an amazing squad! PS. Having Harry has clearly moved the sport forward. 3 1

His money was keeping the club afloat, running a club is a totally different thing. No ordinary businessman is buying a Speedway club in 2025. You'll need a guy with a £10m+ bank account without care for their finances to be in this sport. British Speedway is absolutely in the sh!te. mikebv
So... It's either one league or a five team top tier? Louis said he wouldn't countenance either... Should be quite easy to find a buyer for such a well ran club I would think... I wonder what is actually up for sale these days... Air fence? Starting gate? Tractors? Goodwill? Anything else? Buying is probably a stretch as Sheffield presumably are finding out Maybe someone would rent it from Louis

Louis states he will do his best to ensure the club continues 'in safe hands'! Shame he couldn't ask the fans their preference! Buy or rent, you need millions in your back pocket.

SteveArena
Whats happening with Wimbledon Wookieboy? Had that announcement to coincide with the Ronnie Moore statue in July but nothing since. Was it all a publicity stunt or problems with the Surbiton raceway?

From what I understand it is still being pursued but was never going to be for ‘26. 2027 far more likely. The site isn’t Surbiton Raceway, it is the go kart and motocross track on Beddington Lane. Let’s hope it comes off, God knows we need some good news stories at the moment. Edited 2 hours ago by WookieboyDon

Thing is even allowing for the fact its probably the best run and supported club in the UK given the current state of things this winter who would be crazy enough to buy it , I can't see its worth anything given you might not have anyone to race against. The biggest frustration for all the fans, I would think, who, most of them, could clearly see that the path being followed was inevitably going to implode.. Fudge. Fudge. Make do and Mend. Pander to individuals. Have a plan. Change the plan. Have another plan. Change the other plan. Hope everyone gets to October. Ensure the riders get prioritised in front of the fans. And then. Rinse and Repeat every November... Surely now. Those running the sport will wake up and smell that coffee... Maybe make Chris Louis the CEO? He knows what he is doing ..
