Yes I’ve changed my name on several occasions it’s not to hide from anything it’s just I love playing about. It’s so funny to me when people take it serious and overreact 😂

I’ve always had a wicked sense of humour and not had any issues so far. In fact mostly complimented when face to face as not being a boring miserable person. Suppose you can’t please some. There’s a time and a place. I’m not sure the potential demise of Oxford is the thread to be having ‘lots of fun’ on. It’s in pretty bad taste if you ask me.

We’ll keep you posted”. Radio silence. Oxford speedway on 10/04: “Get your tickets for the next home meeting!” This isn’t just poor communication; it’s blatant disregard for the supporters of Oxford speedway. I feel sorry for Cheetahs fans who deserve better.
Steve Shovlar
Think I will wait and see. Will buy my ticket once it is 100% confirmed the gates will open. Shame it has been such a dreadful mess…..communications have not been of a decent standard.

Before the close of play yesterday (by the time you posted the above), an item had been added to the Oxford Speedway website, previewing the Plymouth meeting and updating the situation. Obviously, what Oxford were not going to do was promise a meeting next Wednesday until they were in a position where they could, especially after this Wednesday's postponement. The Oxford fans are happy, if you're not, that's up to you. Personally, I'm overjoyed. At points over the last week or so, I wondered if this was the end. You can't please all the people all the time and this is a classic case. You'd think everyone would be happy that a speedway track is continuing, but... If the statement had been shared here along with your call to ‘get your tickets’, it might have helped some of the recent posters feel a bit more at ease with the situation. Updating the situation? Let me directly quote Oxford’s statement: ”after several days of meetings – the situation has now reached a point where it is full steam ahead again for Cheetahs” If you, as an Oxford or even a speedway fan in general, are appeased by that, then my suggestion is to be quiet and enjoy what’s left of the sport in this country while the rest of us hold clubs and their stakeholders accountable to even a degree of standards. King Jamie
This situation highlights the differences on either side of the fence. There's absolutely no way the Oxford management can keep fans fully up-to-date in a Sky News-esque ticker tape style barrage of information. Situations change constantly. So constantly that confusion would be the main outcome, with folks struggling to keep up. What are they expected to reveal? 'We have meetings planned'? A bit bland and unlikely to appease the news-hungry punter. They also most likely won't be allowed to reveal significant details of those meetings. The only thing that matters is whether the club has a future. It's a simple yes or no. On this occasion, happily, it's a yes. On the other side of the coin, fans can feel they're left in the dark, whilst craving updates aplenty. 'We are the lifeblood of the club. We deserve to know'. Well, yes, you do. But you only need to know the end result. The rest, if you're not a company official is, quite frankly, none of your business. It has to be kept in-house. The statement from the management is acceptable in my view. Good luck to Oxford.

Would be good for the club to put some meat on the bones to provide assurance of longevity though.
