szkocjasid
I think Riss needs to give up on British Speedway. Potentially race in countries that have squad systems & individual meetings? Or treat Speedway like a hobby, when he's feeling well enough to do it? If it is the end of his career, as sad as it is, there have been riders with far worse endings. He may even be able to stay in the sport, working off track? False dawn
I think this is a very tragic story. Erik is an entertaining rider who could play an important part in the fortunes of any club. Sadly, whatever his health issues are, he's not able to pursue his chosen career. We wish you well Erik.

Presumably Oxford can only use guests for Riss(7.57) now, but a wider choice for when they visit Poole next week eg Kemp, Barker....? I’m really sorry about the whole situation." TheSmiler
If his symptoms will never cure he needs to retire for his and other riders safety, especially with it being his vision. As someone who is partially sighted I really feel for him. It can really affect aspects of your life and it’s frustrating as hell
DJC
Whilst terrible news for Riss who I very much enjoy watching, why was he announced before a proper fitness test? Surely the change should be reversed, as they have a replacement already there for him? If a guest facility is now in place, with a higher average, it will only cause more questions about rule manipulation

I’d rather see Jody as a guest anyway, he’s a total trier and gives 100% every time and has strong Oxford support. Kennett’s Cheetahs performances were on the whole lacklustre to say the least with the odd glimmer of what he’s capable of - see last week 0,0,3,0. Of course guesting in a Poole jacket he managed to score 12 twice despite not getting near double figures previously… 🤔

He has had moments of brilliance against heat leaders, but they have been far and few between… Jack Smith beat him in the Berwick meeting and it was the only point Jack scored all night…

Even though Kennett was only a temp replacement, should be allowed to revert back to him. I'd guess Oxford would only be allowed a "75% guest" (5.67) so not greatly higher than Kennett's average. Bojangles
So another season done and dusted at Sandy Lane. Not the one most of us wanted, but good to see the crowds swelling again and we should just be thankful we got any speedway at all after the greyhound collapse. On a more positive note, it sounds like next year is already being planned. I was a little worried (and still am, if I'm being honest) about there being any speedway at Oxford next season, but Peter Shroeck sounded very excited about it when being interviewed yesterday and said team plans are already under way. Fingers crossed.

And don't forget it's NOT the end of the season, since still three home fixtures for the Chargers Edited Thursday at 09:59 AM by lucifer sam
