So ht 14 on sat were the riders under starters orders,ie green light on?if so then why was grmek allowed back in as he wasnt under power when the race was stopped!

In the referees defence his visibility was probably impaired by the dust from the previous heat still in the air.🪖

You sound a bit sad as well. Have you thought of going out and catching a bit of sunshine?

Me, I’m fine thanks for the concern however. You’re everything that’s wrong with modern day society. Let’s hope you don’t have any mental health struggles.

To be sure I think someone would need to look at the stream. The way I perceived it was the ref had noticed Ben Barker was illegally warming his tyre by spinning his wheel in the dirt at the start ( I noticed him doing the same in one of his earlier races ).  This is a disqualification incident that allowed him to go off a 15 metre handicap.  However, the ref started the race with all riders at the tapes.  Anze Grmek accidentally pulled out his kill switch at the start and wheeled his bike off the track. The race got to the third bend if I remember right before the riders noticed the race had been stopped.

Under the rules Barker was allowed to go off 15 metres for tyre warming. Also under the rules if a rider accidentally pulls out his kill switch before the race has started it is deemed to be an unsatisfactory start and the rider is allowed back into the rerun. Both things did happen.

What I can't understand was why the ref started the race when he knew Barker was warming his tyre and allowed them to go 3/4 of a lap.

If you’re referring to Vuolas, he’s doing terribly on the continent. Came second to last in a meeting in Germany last night with Liebmann finishing ahead of him in the final standings.

As someone who was also following Vuolas' meetings on the continent I would keep in mind that that was his first meeting back after a crash at the end of April, (which was not his fault) 🤔 Got a lot of time for Antti and would have liked to have seen him back in the Championship this year, genuinely thought he would be at Scunthorpe tbh.

(Sorry for the random late reply to this comment, only just made an account on here and I like Worky so was having a scroll through all the different pages lol).

Never heard that before about pulling cut out and getting restart

I've seen many a rider pulling it out as a issue with bike but getting kicked out of race

At very best that should also be a 15 mtr start as it delays the start

After looking into this further I now believe the referee made a mistake . He could not have noticed Grmek had accidentally detached his kill switch otherwise he should not have started the race with a dead bike at the start. Once he started the race and Grmek wheeled his bike off the track it should have been treated as a retirement due to  mechanical failure.

I actually raised the kill switch issue  through the open door of the refs box at the time, the refs reply was that Ben Barker had already committed an earlier tyre warming offence. Once he started the race I believe Grmek should have been excluded/ disqualified also.

@lewy looks like the referee is a Plymouth fan 😜🤣
