Are Cairns & Cairns allowed to cover that whole period, if not for how long. Read on Google AI that a pierced lung and fluid on the lung can clear in as little as 2 weeks but that would seem maybe unrealistic if you are planning to race again so quickly after the injury. Then there is his back. I wonder if it is a long period, would Bailey maybe reconsider UK bearing in mind he is not getting many opportunities overseas. His DK Team only used him for one match so far seemingly giving preference to home talent Villards Pedersen. Even in last nights postponed match after Bewley's seriour injury. His POL Team Grudiatz havent seen fit not to include him in their first team again favouring more local young riders. That only leaves their U24 Team where they have only ridden 2 matches in the new 4 team U24 format on Tuesdays. He rode in both. I wonder if a combo of Cairs/Rushen for as long as possible or for a while and a later introduction of Bailey would be possible. In a way I feel for Bowes but you have to question how he is having so many crashes in Aussie/UK. Could be bad luck. So frustrating as well considering how well he rode in those 2 races up to the point of his latest fall. It's more the bikes than the riders. The modern lay-down reacts much better on a slicker surface, plus the bikes are now easier to race and pass when the track is slick. The power the bikes now have means they launch if the track has too much grip. Although, last night, I think the biggest problem wasn't the level of grip but the big rut halfway around the first and second bend. Dayle Wood hit it Heat 2 and lost his chain. Race leader Anders Rowe hit during Heat 4 but managed to stay on. Fraser Bowes hit it in Heat 6 and was less lucky.

I think it's over riding that makes the mistakes, trying to hard to score points little mistakes turn into bigger ones then these turn into accidents, hope the guy recovers from his injury

The way the rest of the team are going, Fraser will be at reserve soon so r/r won't work. I would think we need a temporary replacement, no idea who though. Maybe someone from abroad who wants a month of meetings or the more likely option will be for guests I think, chance for Gilkes perhaps
marko
Did not see the match let alone the incidents but yes its 100% the bikes. Thing is also when you see how much these things are costing to run, it makes you wonder how any rider can afford to ride in this country unless the promoters are paying out far more than they get in revenue which is not sustainable. Dan Thompson on his channel covered costs and it mind blowing to me.

Dan Gilkes has already signed for Scunthorpe and scored 15, paid 18 from his first two meetings for them. That boat has sailed, other than for guest appearances Edited 10 hours ago by Sir Sidney

That’s where speedway is turning to a money game like every other Motorsport, bad when there is a different engine suited for different tracks, that’s why riders are so inconsistent or a lot quicker when wealthy or better supported , not rider 70% equipment

szkocjasid
While I wish Bowes well in his recovery, this doesn't hinder Poole at all. For the rest of this month Cairns & Rushen at reserve, plus Kerr & Newman can take r/r outings. When Rushen gets a new average, Cairns & Newman at reserve, Rushen can take a r/r outing. Bowes won't drop to reserve till July at the earliest. Besides if Poole can win at Redcar without Rushen, who can challenge them at all?

Probably the rider best suited to how the track was is bomber but it wont be like that next week.

Not sure about that Newman's average is not much below Bowes and Rushen won't be at reserve much longer, the way Cairns is going he could be above Bowes too soon so maybe by end of June Bowes could well be at reserve, as you say not sure it matters that much as we should be able to get a reasonable guest on Bowes current average.
