Poole Pirates Vs Oxford Cheetahs 19th August Championship

Recommended Posts

On Wednesday its the penultimate home meeting of the season in the championship for the Pirates as they take on the Oxford Cheetahs at Wimborne Road.

The Piratess having drawn at Cowley two weeks ago just need  to win to pick up the bonus point.

Hopefully both teams will be at full strength or though it looks like Eric RIss will probably be absent with R/R in Operation.

Thoughts?

Don't think r/r is possible, and it would have to be a 'no facility' [i.e. 75%] guest

So will there be the full Pirate 1-7 on track in the only fixture on Wednesday? If Kyle isn't fully fit there is quite the choice of possible guests.

.....there is a chance of some rain on Weds afternoon 👀👀😯😯😯😯😯😯

Not a significant amount, just to help water the track i think.

💰💰As normal

That makes no sense, if Riss didn't want to ride for Oxford, he simply wouldn't have said yes to a return.

So a full Pirates 1-7 and an Oxford 7 with Cluff at 3. With a drop of rain forecast for Tuesday p.m. it should be another decent meeting with the winners also getting the aggregate bonus point.

Is that honestly the best rider they could get? No disrespect to Mitch but he’s a number 7 on a 3.00 average replacing a heat leader.

I’ll save my £22 this week I think as this will easily be another 60 points for the Pirates

Hosepipe ban in Dorset now 🤔 but by the amount of dust in the stadium every Wednesday must have been a Hosepipe ban for weeks 😜🤣

And another dig.

Your love for Poole is unbelievable

Leave Nellie alone. He/she/it needs something to deflect from his/her team once more letting its supporters down with a baffling team selection. Again

They don't need a hosepipe ban in Workington, the track gets plenty of water from all the tears every week.

I'll argue he's better than that, got a 3.94 average from number 6, but agree there must be better guest options out there. Eddie Kennett perhaps?

From a financial point of view, a heavy away loss means less points money to pay out & it won't hurt their next home crowd, as there's only Charges meetings left.

Not saying i'd agree with that tactic (if that was the plan), but could understand it.
