GP venues and news for 2027

I've never seen a bad meeting at Belle Vue, and I've never seen a good meeting at Ipswich.   I'll give this one a swerve.

I thought the GP was supposed to be about bringing the world championship to vibrant big cities.   

Cardiff had a big stadium and bars and entertainment right on the doorstep.   Manchester was right in the middle of Britain, had a smaller stadium but a far superior racettrack, and even better nightlife, althought a 10 minutes taxi ride away.   Ipswich is out in the wilds of a small town a long way from anywhere, with a rundown stadium with a poor track.

I'd rather take in a couple of Polish GPs and avoid the British GP if this is the best we can offer.

Instead of crying listen to facts, the blank calendar position is for either Belle Vue or Glasgow. Now you can stop your moaning about Ipswich.

well i have no problem with it going to Ipswich, , just hopefully can sort the track out, it would be a win win for the gp and British speedway,

No grand prix scheduled for Sweden?? I read Maililla wouldn't be staging in 2027 - maybe the TBC date will be for a different Swedish venue? Be a major blow for the sport if Sweden can't host a round.

Belle Vue can't go up against Oasis though. Hotels are already off the scale 

The only thing I could think of is a 3pm start so people can drive home.

It's hard to think that GP date planners don't look at these obvious date clashes. But is that me being too common sensible again?

Sorry to spoil the party but is there likely to be anyone offering a package to Adelaide in October 27? We want to visit my wife’s grandmother’s grave (and see the place) and we both thought this was too good an opportunity to miss. Ipswich does puzzle me though. We’ve never had a bad GP at BV and I’ve seen some shockers in Cardiff, so not surprised that’s binned.

I believe that the GP dates were scheduled before Oasis announced their dates 

I suspect we'll hear from Coleman on this in due course

I know Maitland travel have done trips to the Australian championship so maybe worth looking them up

Sweden is possible 12 June. Målilla's ended after this season and Västervik's first isn't until 2028. This leaves no contracted club/track for 2027. I think Målilla was offered to host 2027 as well but at the time (just after this year's GP in Målilla) they said that they needed to think about it. 

If the weather is like it was this year it will be a great event however Målilla is, due it's location on the southern Sweden highland, quite rain prone as we have seen during the years.

Belle Vue should have both British rounds.  Ipswich should be nowhere near a grand prix roster and certainly boring Glasgow shouldn't have a hope.

As someone who just wants to see an entertaining meeting, I can't help but be disappointed at Ipswich replacing Belle Vue. 

Hopefully the track work will make a big improvement but maybe waiting a year to make sure that all went smoothly might have been better.

Coleman wanted, and Wants a GP at Belle Vue. He hasn’t taken it away from there and given it to Ipswich instead. 
 

Edit: And what’s wrong with Glasgow? I’ll admit I haven’t seen anything from there myself, but all the reports I read suggest it’s far from boring. They seem to get some good racing there generally.

Great riders attacking tracks make good meetings - If Doyle were in the GP next year I can think of one rider who would really be entertaining sadly him and another master of Foxhall Emil probably won’t be in the series! 
 

I live in Sheffield I couldn’t be bothered to go to GP rounds as I felt they were over priced and the thought of parking etc at BV was a nightmare. Foxhall won’t be easy either so I hope they sort that out!

Maitland travel already advertising a trip down under seen on Facebook, no doubt travel plus will be doing the same

No Swedish GP next year. Målilla GP director says that costs are too high.
