The photo on Scunthorpe's own website does not show it was conclusively the wrong decision. The referee has to make a snap decision based on the evidence in front of him, in his view he made the correct decision. He is not going to a spend a lot of time scrutinising his decision and I do not know any referee who has changed a decision once made and it does not matter how many times the manager gets on the phone.
