Herein lies the problem. 2021 isn’t 2020, the world has changed. Everyone has had to adapt their way of living. You can’t even go to the shops now without wearing a mask, a minor detail but it would have seemed alien just 12 months ago. Yet Speedway in Britain seems to have taken the, “we’ll just carry on with what we were planning for 2020,” approach. Self-interest of some who are too stubborn to have to do a bit of work team building to a new limit will cost other clubs. But ultimately these kinds of issues can kill off the clubs that were already struggling and are asking for a lower points limit so they can cut their cloth accordingly. Then the stubborn club will die too because they won’t have anyone to race against. Self-interest is the cancer that will kill British Speedway.

Just thought I would wake up the thread. No news or anything to say, other than wishing everyone a merry Christmas, with the hope that we can start next season on time with fans allowed inside stadiums. Oh, and Pirate dominance of course.

People have been losing their jobs all year because of the virus. Why should a Speedway rider be any different? If the club paid for the suit they should be given it back perhaps but what good is a bespoke suit made for a rider and covered in his sponsors. While race suits aren’t cheap if my club was in that bad a position that they had to ask for them back then I’d be concerned. As for a signing on fee, that is down to the club and the agreement in the rider’s contract about the conditions of it being paid. Thriving and Speedway don’t go together. Sadly they haven’t for a long time.

do riders get an average reduction when out of the sport for a year? if so, just apply across the board except for those that rode in Poland, and the figures may suit those that want it lowered

I really shouldn't have to go through all this with you, John, but I want to give you some basic information. Forget links, messages, and all that crap. For a Facebook account, you need three things; a name, an email address, and a password. Yes, it's that simple, and it's no different to the BSF, or any other online forum or group. Now, you say you are unable to "enter" Facebook? How are you trying to "enter"? As I said, you only need three things to create an account, and they are EXACTLY the same three things you need to log in to your account, so what are you missing? I don't think it's your name, as you have managed to create two accounts under your name. I don't think it's an email address, for the same reason as above. Is it a password you're missing? If so, that is no issue, as all you have to do is follow the instructions on the login page where it asks you if you "forgot password". Again, no need for links, messages, confusing correspondence, or any of that. One you are in Facebook, you can delete your account.

Thanks for posting! For those who CBA to listen to the whole thing: an opening meeting is planned for April 3 (Easter Saturday), with 2,000 tickets - stadium capacity to be decided - on sale from January 1. Promoter Steve Rees is asked about speedway. He believes 2022 is a more realistic prospect than 2021.

Already lost my DB trains money, they were offering cash refunds up until the day of my travel, no provision was made after that. Eurostar have extended my vouchers twice but atm have to be used by April. So gonna have to pay that again as well. Hoping hotels will be a simple transfer over though. Having experienced Warsaw in 30 degree plus heat (may 2018), i can only imagine how nice it may be in August. Still one of my favorite cities in the world.

Ahhhh this arguement about the 45 point average always gets me! If ‘rider averages’ were calculated purely on average points scored, then there would be some legs in that arguement. Because rider CMA are calculated using points X rides / 4 - when you take into account heat 15 and riders taking 5 rides, it’ll work out that the total team points based on that calculation should be about 42.00-42.50. Years ago back in 2002 it was 45.00 including bonus points which is about right. Lowering the team total CMA year on year just weakens and weakens the product year after year. The strength of the second division is nothing compared to what it was, probably even 10 years ago let alone even further beyond that.
