    Kent v Belle Vue 19th

He has been having a good MSDL season along with amateur stuff and has beaten Mulford as stated, O'Keefe, Laurence, Chattin etc who are all riders on the fringes but equally have never made it stick at NL level. He looked a little awkward / tentative in the early stages last night which caused the early falls and then night was over and completed laps hoping to pick up any gifted points. A lot of first time visitors struggle at Central Park hence the merry go round of guests although Jake Mulford along with others did not so shows what i know.
  3. According to the GSA's on the BSPA site published on 16/08 Agertoft is still 5.00 & Shanes 4.78.

Would she come in on a 3 or 2 average?

    NL Pairs August 25th

As the ruling for mandatory attendance is in place and no facilities given to over 18's either this year if Halsey has chosen a mid season holiday i fear he may receive the two match ban?

    Kent v Belle Vue 19th

Good close meeting with two evenly matched sides although the weather did its best to spoil things and did leave the track every one lined until the interval. Plenty on show from both sides top heat leaders who handled the conditions better. Mulford took a lot of rides and was rewarded with a fine win which was richly deserved, nice to see Woods back on track but expected a lot more from Bailey as a Championship rider to get only 4 points is a bit concerning.

    Poole v Swindon. Prem. 19/8/19

Heat 15 didn't matter to Poole, let them enjoy a 5-1 makes no difference. Doyle would have won from any gate.

Be careful, or you may have to go away too!

    Swindon v Poole. Prem. 22/8/19

Yeah should be a cracker. Will be the biggest crowd of the season so far I would imagine. Wouldn't be surprised to see another 46-44 with Covatti keeping it close.
  10. This has got nothing to do with Auty, and is nothing to do with trolling. You just keep claiming that people say things that they didnt, and then you get butthurt when we respond with the truth.

    Swindon v Poole. Prem. 22/8/19

Both Holder & Kurtz are better at Swindon than they are at Poole so expecting a tense night especially with Wolves winning at Belle Vue. Can’t afford any slip ups at home from here on in.

    Monkey Masks

We all could! There were so many different masks (and goggles) that riders wore. Wasn't just Mich who wore a scarf; Fundin, Sjosten, Crutcher etc were a lot earlier.

  17. This result sure makes a massive difference to the fight for P/O places. I cant imagine Wolves went with much optimism of getting any change from their trip, and BV no doubt thought another 3 points in the bag. Just goes to show luck can play a pivotal roll . When these points are added to their league totals, it will elevate Wolves in their fight for those final 4 places... No doubt BV's next match with a full team, will be a totally different ball game...

It's not just the enjoyment of playing the game, but the social side of it for me. I've made some great friends through it tbh and talk to them pretty much on a daily basis. So many laughs have been had through the game and there are certainly some characters amongst the players. The game itself once you get into it is incredibly addictive. Similar to speedway promoter in the fact it is pretty basic but you could play it for hours on end. Sign up and give it a go

    Swindon v Poole. Prem. 22/8/19

It should be a close affair but Swindon get stronger from heat 13 i recon a 8/10 point home win.I still think Poole are vulnerable at the top end and even at reserve away from home Wells is no world beater there should be some good racing.

    Monkey Masks

I used to be able to recognise many riders by their masks and recall Anders Michanek just wearing a scarf covering his mouth. Once the full face helmets came in it became less easy.
  21. Not the best of meetings, but it should be noted the Panthers really fought hard. It was only at the latter end of the meeting when all the points became secure... Cant believe so many hold ups through the night.. I was actually sitting in the Royal Box, watching the Poole / Swindon Heat 15 on my phone during the interval. The fact they both started at the same time make you realise how drawn out these meeting are becoming..... Even, Belle Vue with half a team, using multiple use of R/R, was finished 20 min before we did...

Over a two legged afffair i would be reasonably confident though Crazy.

    Monkey Masks

They were around in the late 50's. Ronnie Moore was guesting for Poole at Southampton and I have a photo of him using one in either 1958 or 1959. The only difference between the 'Mauger' version was a piece of cut inner tube! Simple as that.

Good old Chunky Look we all get it you don't like Auty you are like a broken record but stupid thankfully not at the level of yourself TROLL of the highest order.
  25. Agree re Lambert, how does he get 5 rides and Kerr only 4.Kerr 7+2 from 4,Lambert 2 from 5.Madness imo from the team manager which gave Peterborough a sniff after ht12 only being 6pts down.

    Monkey Masks

Okay, if I can squeeze in here between gustix's many memories, I would like to ask a question. We all miss the old face masks - in particular, the good ol' monkey masks - but thinking about it, they really weren't around for long. Obviously, there were several different models; the standard one with the small vent in the middle, the style worn by Mauger, Collins, and Olsen, the Gordon Kennett one, the Joe Owen one etc... So, does anyone know when they were introduced? The American racing driver Dan Gurney made one around 1958, but they were never used in speedway that early. Even around 1969 and 70, the majority of the face masks were simple leather ones with slits in them. Trying to think back, I can't actually remember when they took over, or who were the first riders to use them. I know Ronnie Moore wore one around 1971 or 72... Anyone? Steve
