Ablitt was given the number 7 spot at Poole a few seasons ago simply to fill a 2.00 void. There was no pressure on him because the Pirates had 6 very strong riders to offset his poor scores that year and the fans were extremely supportive of him. He's now averaging almost 6 points per meeting at Scunthorpe and could have another title under his belt at the end of this season. One silver lining for Glasgow is that he's hopeless around Ashfield. He makes strong starts but then seems to completely forget the concept of racing lines and always get overtaken.

It's Mitchell Davey all over again. Each year there's a feeling, possibly a fear, that next year might be the year he really makes it stick. Same with Freddy, some improvement year on year, and the feeling we'd miss our by not re signing him. Possibly Oxford may be after him following his paid max down there in the summer

Not a good week for BSN, with a meeting called off due to non weather events and another meeting not going the distance, neither the fault of the Network but I think there will be come a time where they will have to approach those in charge and tell them to get their act together because the clubs are killing their business. They can only film what is in front of them but if that is rubbish, people will stop buying it, it suddenly occurred to me why has the tracks suddenly become so hard to get right in terms of preparation and vulnerability to being called off? and the think the answer is Clay, until this season I never heard word clay and speedway in the same sentence but we hear it all the time now, tracks are now more clay that shale and it’s ruining it. Clay is cheaper than shale so just bung more clay on it, it’s like painting a piece of art on kitchen towel, it doesn’t matter how well you do it, it still comes out looking like crap.

Two things about Bob Dugard, track prep and mind games. When Adam Shields moved to Lakeside and he came back to ride Arlington, Bob finished his track prep. Bob walked through the pits, then waled straight over and said," I thought I would rip the outside up but the thought, Shieldsy is here so I didn't." didn't have a great meeting. Then a year or so later, Adam Is guesting for Zagar at number one. Always interval after heat 10 but Bob came over and said, interval after heat 9, hes off 4 in 10 so let him know im ripping the outside for him. Adam scored 14 from 5 that night.

There in lies the problem, comparison to Poland. British Speedway will never ever get to, or even come close to their level. Poland are rightly so, looking to a 1 club model alongside SEC, SGP & World Cups. They have an extensive amount of dollar to keep rider's tied down. The UK, Sweden, Denmark & to a point Germany can only ever be a feeder to Poland's top 2 tiers. We have to accept & embrace that. Instead of being angry, we should be proud of our lads being over in Poland achieving (or atleast trying to) those levels of the sport. For British Speedway, we want to keep, and increase the number of clubs we already have. Also steadily build the numbers that come through the turnstiles. We CANNOT currently hold riders down to 1 league as it's just not financially viable. Doors will close, and rider's lost forever. Without being too political, the white man demographic is shrinking at an alarming rate in this country, it's a problem also in other major European countries. Do you want to guess which country is economically stronger than ever and heavily restricts asylum?? People don't like to see it but these things do go hand in hand. How many black and brown are on the terraces in UK Speedway?? It matters to our sports future.

Its still one hell of a journey for him to Plymouth from where he lives. He enjoys riding at Plymouth and he deserves to go wherever he wants. Goodluck for future Batch

Let’s be honest team building for this season has been a big anti-climax compared to previous years , Signing Hausl and Hagon were major red flags and even resigning Hodder was very questionable.

Grahn has also mentioned it on instagram, so it must be happening but maybe waiting to see if Glasgow make PO final first.

Anyone who has been at Lynn and has half a brain has seen him riding his nuts off this year, but lacking both gating and speed which had been very odd. His scores in Poland have been down on last year too. I'd like to think he'll stay at Lynn to put right what went wrong this season but he'll be in demand I'd have thought.
