  1. Past hour
  2. It’s somewhere between 2 & 4 quid some not massive. The problem is that any big league would be weaker than the championship because of the current doubling up.
  3. Same here. I thought it was a pretty good meeting, and props to the track guy for getting the meeting on.
  4. We have notoriously been one of the lowest payers though, albeit riders would get paid all the time and on time.
  5. I think Hook has been better lately and I think Vinnie will score well with Starke struggling a bit lately.
  6. Today
  7. I enjoyed the meeting too. Thought it was a decent watch. Fricke the best rider in the league currently. Really like him too seems like a decent down to earth fella so good for him. Still if some got their way, he’s another they’d happily punt out of British Speedway to get one league speedway..🙄
  8. But will that go into overriding and trying too hard? Better for him not think too much about it being at Poole imo. Although Hook not great at Poole in the past so Vinnie will need to get 5+ if Worky are going to get BP.
  9. Watched this 'non-live' and thought it was good tense meeting - I see people still on here bemoaning their perception of a lack of passing. Racing is not all about passing, faster guys can make starts too! Well done Leicester & TNT for an entertaining watch, enjoyed Chris and Kelvin too.
  10. Flagrag good to see your still about we were debating on another thread what the current tv deal was worth per premier league team, I seem to remember you used to be close to media people involved and wondered if you had any idea what each club currently receives, no issues if it puts you in a difficult spot and you prefer not to disclose.
  11. To Cowboycookie. Is there much difference in admission prices between the leagues? To WeymouthPirate. I was with you untill you mentioned Morris.
  12. My two cents for the little that it’s worth. I’m fairly sure the discussions are already underway and have probably already been sorted out, but here we go. This is based on 14 clubs riding (No Brum, Oxford running one side and all other clubs still running as usual) League - 14 Team league. Based on current Championship standard. Number ones along the lines of Brennan, Lawson, Klindt, Masters, Picko etc. maybe a Doyle could be convinced as well perhaps but who knows. I do believe the riders are there for 7 man teams, but 6 is also more than acceptable. None of this 5 man rubbish. Reserves must be NDL riders however 26 league fixtures. I’ve seen some suggest two home and two away but clubs struggle to fit the current list in so the increase cannot be too much. I’d have the top 6 into the Play Offs and follow the 2023 Championship format. Two groups of 3 and group winners into the final. I thought it worked well KO Cup - Usual stuff, straight knockout League Riders & Pairs Championship. I liked the Big Championship weekend idea and would like to see that repeated. The important stuff, the promotion and the image - If he wanted too, keeping Phil Morris in the role is vital as I feel he adds so much to the sport (I know some people don’t but hey that’s the wonder of opinions). Everything has to be run as professionally as possible. That means the media day, the casual clothes the riders wear in press etc. Things like the KO Cup draws need to be live streamed and done properly. If TNT want to be involved, then amazing, but if not then BSN are more then good enough to be the main partner. Track staff up and the down the country need to be in matching overalls, start Marshall’s need to look the part. Seeing Workingtons in joggers and on his phone isn’t a good look. Push off areas like they have on TNT must be compulsory. The pre meeting parade should look the same up and down the country. I know that stuff doesn’t seem important but when rebuilding a sport, the image is the most important thing. The race format doesn’t need changing, the way the meetings are run don’t need changing. The product itself is not the problem. Is it ideal? No of course not. We all want the best riders over here, but they are not the be all and end all. A 7 team top league isn’t acceptable, so a 5 team one would be embarrassing And 250cc engines? Get a grip
  13. What goes around comes around the saying goes - reading mags from 1960 said much the same thing.’’ Where are the new riders coming from - races are too spread out - watching same tracks against each other’’ In 1960 there were 10 top league tracks and 10 second or provincial tracks. Most commentators said the sport had been given a new lease of life by the introduction of the provincial league - better racing (more mistakes) and cheaper to run meetings. The 2 leagues wandered along for several more years until the top stars began to disappear ( Craven Moore Fundin Knutsson ) then in 1965 the leagues amalgamated. Probably saved speedway as we know it. Lesson over!
  14. I agree the track staff worked hard and got the job done as quickly as possible. This is the reason why Leicester provided the track staff for Cardiff and helped support at Kings Lynn for Speedway World Cup meetings
  15. nope money isnt and never has been the issue its whether robert says yes or no ultimately
  16. Unipart car park is the official parking for Oxford speedway and is about a 5 minute walk to the stadium.
  17. Secure Parking available at the Unipart car park £2.00 bookable online with your admission tickets also map to show its location.(Also plenty of on street parking around the estate near to stadium if you’re not fussy)
  18. Updates has Rew 10+2. But just seen official scores.
  19. I listened to Jason Edwards on a podcast a couple of weeks ago and he was asked if when fit would be be back in the Birmingham team and he replied he hadn’t had that conversation with the management as yet.
  20. Was watching round 2 from Poland on Saturday. Couldn't be that important a meeting when it's raced against a round of the Polish championships.
  21. I did laugh when 3 riders at the line and Tatum said ‘that’s 75% of the line up’ and Louis said ‘ i see your maths is getting better Kelv’ ….. an awkward silence followed not sure Tatum was that happy with that comment I did notice that Tatum never mentioned what Sheffield needed to get a draw or win when there was a few races left … maybe decided better of it lol
  22. injury free has got to be goal if comets can get bonus point thats a good result but im not too confident
  23. Can any of you kind Oxford fans let me know if the stadium has parking please? Looking to make my first visit tomorrow night with my young lad (sorry we're Plymouth fans). Thanks in advance!
