I think you might find that the local residents behind the pits area of the stadium and East Suffolk council who are very strict objecting to music and bars added to which the curfew which in itself is amusing. The bikes can race but I believe they cannot use the tannoy system to announce results. Years back the meeting overran and while they raced to the end of the meeting no announcements. It is amusing though that the bikes noise lasts minutes whereas a stock/banger meeting races go on relentlessly for several hours(with short breaks to clear the track) but it always seems that the complaints are about speedway. The plus points are the planned changes to the stands and track and historically the fact that the speed weekends have regularly attracted thousands of supporters, so a GP can easily be accommodated albeit hotels may be an issue for overseas travellers as most are in the centre of Ipswich and i don’t believe that they have direct public transport links to the stadium so that is something that needs to be considered for punters staying in the town centre or arriving at Ipswich Station. I believe that it can be a decent venue for a GP and those who have a downer on Ipswich holding the event should wait and see. Don’t base views on what has been, RC has ambitions and he has a point to prove so let’s give him and his team a chance. Remember he only rents the stadium from Spedeworth and if he has convinced them to make the changes then don’t under estimate what can/will be done.

I was going to suggest camping Mike. The track and car park is surrounded by woodland so perfect opportunity to have an adventure! Forget the hotels. Park up for the SGP 2 on the Friday, stay on site after the meeting, shove up ya tent in the woods and get cooking on ya portable bbq!

Poole also seem to have a brilliant network of contacts if for example they get either of or both Bailey and Langdon next season they will be already massively ahead by geting a rider in on four point average who will be nearer six, Bailey will be the next aussie superstar and Langdon is the best american prospect for donkeys years. Same this year in snaffling the two young brits they seem to have the support network and local sponsors that give new riders the best chance of success if coming over to the UK from overseas.

The frustration for most of us followers being that all that he is saying is pretty much "bleedin' obvious" .. Hence, particularly on here, the points he makes have been highlighted, and/or suggested, for well over a decade.. Over a decade which has seen a complete consistent regression for the UK version of the sport, led by people simply putting their heads in the sand, doing exactly the same thing each year, but, (I can only imagine), expecting a suddenly completely different positive result!! Madness. And has resulted in many thousand who still closely follow the sport, but not regularly attending... I've said many times, you don't need to do any "magic marketing", (if you don't have the money or skill set), you just need to re-engage those who still keep a keen interest.. And there are many more than 300 of those at every track!! His ideas for the GP at Ipswich should be interesting, especially given so much land around the stadium.. Camp sites? Music? Bars? Maybe?... There might even be riders selling merchandise without the ridiculous costs they get charged...

Utter nonsense that Emil and Artem are motivated by money. They are both desperate to go back into the GP Series and challenge for the World Title. The reason they don't want to take a Croatian citizenship is because they have no affinity to Croatia and are Polish citizens. Laguta and Emil both live in Poland and pay Polish taxes, so why would they become Croatian citizens? They are Polish.

I get ya, but it’s so difficult not to root for him cos he’s such a lovely lad. Part of his problem is he’s TOO nice, and that translates on track. He’s too obliging when letting riders through and lacks the aggression needed at this level.

Why did Torun not give Bartosz a private practise session? They did this for him when he was up against Laguta a few years ago. Torun definitely wanted Lambert to win.

Is it known what sort of magic these engine tuners are able to do to a speedway engine? As far as I know they're very simple bits of kit but the likes of Ashley Holloway are able to get more out of them somehow.

Losing two big cartel pals in Louis & Bates only to be replaced by Lyons & Lemon massively diluted the cartels power and left the door open for effective change. There’s still a stifling presence which was hinted at by Richard and his capital raising comment. Mark’s involvement in getting a new track in Northampton up and running was a big plus and the ITV televised meeting from Belle Vue needs to be rolled out at other tracks. If Richard can help us shake off those shackles then there is hope.

I don’t really get the race night excuse if I’m honest Lisa. If you’re a weekend track I get the argument more. Weekends, kids off etc etc. But is it really a dealbreaker between Wednesday and Thursday evenings? What difference does 24 hours really make here? It’s still midweek whichever way you slice it!

Terrific meeting with race after race to keep you well entertained. It was one in the eye for those that (continue) to down-sell our wonderful sport. Even when the result was sorted, riders still rode to the edge and offered fabulous entertainment. Speedway is not just about ticking the heats off and gaining a result before moving onto the next. It’s that 60 second adrenaline fuelled burst of entertainment, or it should be. Another of Richard’s remarks on his recent podcast appearance that I liked was the one about improving the racing rather than prep the track for the home team. A thinly veiled dig at his own fan base following their “let’s make it knarly” comment last season. He’s not bothered about whose feathers he ruffles with his make the track for the best racing comment. It was great to see Tom shake off his witches blues with a fine display rewarded with a heat 15 nomination. The Tom of old is still in there it’s just finding the right surroundings to nurture it. I’m looking forward to coming up against a Coleman inspired team next season and hope last year wasn’t the one off most fans expected.

Awful for us when guesting against Poole and even worse for Plymouth at Berwick at the weekend. I was open to the idea, but the more I see, the less I like.
