He does but is still a very young lad. It's happened before when they come over to ride together, its just a feeling as they don't seem to travel apart and both in the Ward camp. Both at Glasgow would be my guess. Which would be a crying shame for Workington if they get neither.

One of the "weird" plusses for Speedway is the actual lack of huge financial rewards for winning.. No team would put together a team of "World Beaters" as they couldn't afford it, or, even if they could, their own crowds would suffer, as watching them hammer opponents each meeting would become boring... It doesn't even need massive differences in team averages, just stop moving the sport backwards each season... And having a "Manchester United" that brings the largest crowds in when they visit can't be a bad thing for the sport.. Other "Minority" sports, like both Rugby codes, Basketball and Ice Hockey have their regular "top teams", who bring in good home fan turnouts when visitng other teams.. It should always be about moving the sport forward..

With nearly half of the top nine riders being Belle Vue 2026 riders, I can see us having to release lads once again to bolster our opponents.

What we need is consistency. As it is we may get three meetings on consecutive Mondays one month then one meeting the next month. I like the suggestion of one night a week for top-flight British speedway and one meeting every two weeks. We'd soon get into the habit. Eight teams would be perfect but I guess that six or seven would be possible too. Also, we could have some 'fillers' for the 'diehard' fans who would go whatever the meeting. Possibly three-team matches, local challenges, etc. Hope I am not getting too carried away but have the sense that some of the promoters are getting serious about presenting a more credible product! Just hope that there are enough of them to change what we have had to put up with for so long!

Agree. Probably have to adopt the Danish format with 6 Man Teams to get around it as well as limiting Heat Leaders to an x amount per team in order to share them around?

Why would a sport run on a day when crowds will be generally at their lowest? Monday may work best for the Aces, but there’s a reason why most of the Premiership clubs race predominantly on a Thursday. Louis referenced it a number of times, and Coleman re-iterated it recently that for the Witches crowd numbers on a Monday are significantly lower than a Thursday.

Tom isn't at Belle Vue, but Ben Cook could be, that i certainly can't comment on. Whatever i'm sure as every season Belle Vue will be strong with their usual top 2. I get the Lidsey comments, but i also think he is in elsewhere. As so many are saying, we are guessing, well most of us are guessing, as we don't know how many teams are coming to tapes yet, but Phil is right, if we go to 8 teams, where are the 14 extra riders coming from??

Just done the maths - 2.05 - so cold potentially have 4.05 to play with for a better reserve than Southwick. Any suggestions?

If you replace King with Harrison, how many points does that free up to upgrade Southwick from that lineup?

I agree with much of this but do think team strengths need equalising somehow - it works well in other sports. If Ipswich had been allowed to keep their side from 1998, not only would the 99 season probably have bankrupted them if they'd retained all riders, would other teams have actually stood a chance of competing either? There should be a much wider gap between Championship and Premiership.

Wasn’t Rowe rumoured to be off there aswell alongside Harris,Flint and Dan Thompson,so wouldn’t be room for Tate.

So a team of Lawson 8.15 Rushen 5.01 Zischke 6.56 Cairns 6.44 King 7.76 Lightcap 4.00 Southwick 2.00 Total 39.92 That team would definitely have the right balance and would be the team to beat again.

Would much prefer Zach to Ben Cook. Zach has really improved over the last couple of years and I sometimes find myself questioning Ben's comitment. Zach seems a better team man.

Don't think zischke is worth the risk on his relavity high average, and not the best gater for many away tracks

I can see legs in this thinking as Tom isn’t daft and has almost always driven his career correctly. He just has to look at him and Jason, last season just over half a point separated them whereas now, having gone to separate teams, it’s nearly three points. The wage demands he’s been used to to recently won’t stack up with The Aces but if he sees the bigger picture and he gets offered the opportunity I think we can all agree it’s a no brainer.

Perfect for the GP riders should any of them wish to come over here. Hence so many do Poland, and Sweden, with some doing Denmark too.. Riders of the level that the UK would want, If they did Poland, UK and Sweden, would be finished by Tuesday, so would have Wednesday and Thursday clear and be well prepared for either a Friday Polish league match, or a GP2, or a Saturday GP or Polish Sunday league match.. Any Thursday Polish matches would also no longer impact the UK... Once a fortnight speedway at each track over here, like happens elsewhere..
