Redcar v Edinburgh 17.04.26
JanAndersen replied to Sidewinder1953's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I’m not sure anyone is blaming Cluff and Loftus for the defeat however if you are going to compete in the league a solid reserve pairing is an absolute must. One point between them even away from home isn’t enough. I’m surprised Dayle Wood wasn’t in the team this year tbh. -
Are BSN still sending out emails with details of the upcoming schedules? They used to, but I’ve not seen any for a while, so wonder if I slipped off the list. I did get an email about the cancellation due to the van breaking down last week though oddly.

Oxford V Poole 15/4/26 BSN 1st leg

Its never boring when you win. I realise losing an entertaining meeting can be enjoyable but sport is about winning. Crowds do not turn up for teams that lose every week. -

I would say crowd slightly down from the usual but still ok, the rain all week and the forecast probably kept some away. But our diehards that come from far afield made the journey. Aberdeen, Greenock, Pitlochry, Stirling etc, they all made the trip down. -

What did people think of the crowd? Huge credit to the track staff, it rode really well considering the elements. Also all fourteen riders who put on a decent spectacle especially when it is early doors. - Yesterday

That will the photos that are doing the rounds. Looks spectacular just not typical speedway weather. -

Heat 15 was torrential rain, how they managed to actually race was amazing as track was under water at that point, rest of the meeting was OK, just that last race. -

How wet was it? Some of the online photos make the place look like a swamp. Ashfield is probably the best prepared track in the country it surely can’t have been as bad as the photos suggest. -
What WWE? No one expected Leicester to win at Owlerton on Thursday. Did you think it predetermined that Bewley would chase Douglas for 3.7 laps in heat 15 on Easter Monday before passing him. Bewley certainly looked overjoyed, Douglas looked gutted. Don't think that was our on.

Extraleague 2026 R 2 Sunday 19th April Live on TV
Col replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
Have only seen results but Częstochowa are an embarrassment to the league. Wroclaw reserves will cost them the title. Kowalski! being meeting winner where Laguta, Kurtz & Bewley failed is surprising. Enterprising use of Pollestad will see Gorzów battle 5th spot with Leszno. Paluch injured? -
You're right. But the point stands that multi-use opportunities are there IF the owner WANTS to make a success of the stadium.

Oxford V Poole 15/4/26 BSN 1st leg
szkocjasid replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
If fans are happy with a "boring" win, then I guess that'll keep the crowds coming. I'm very much more interested in the entertainment on show, than the result. While I'll tend to be cheering on one of the teams in action, I don't have "my team" to support (Rye House & Arena-Essex / Lakeside) so can understand why others would feel differently. -

Workington v Scunthorpe 18/04/26 3 pm. BSN Series.
szkocjasid replied to topaz325's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Don't let a Poole fans hear you say that 😆 Anyway, I have seen mostly from the gate matches kept exciting by a close score. But a 60-30 match could be exciting if the Scunthorpe keep gating & Workington keep passing. -

Well done bears, controlled win again, still winning without full team firing together, klindt an off nite ,Allen Edwards again done what they had to, great work to reserves , much stronger than opposition which always helps to score, away match will be close hopefully bears come out on top -
Enjoyed that tonight despite the lack of passing. As a neutral you could easily sense the tension with the closeness of the scoreline. Great to see a good passionate crowd. I've said before the best advert for British speedway would be to get the rights to the Extraliga and give it to ITV2 or even BBC red button I'm sure British Basketball and Ice Hockey benefit from NBA and NHL being broadcast. Of course you have to have a product that is vaguely similar if you're going to retain any spectators generated....

Pleased with the result from a Bears point of view but it’s not a great watch again on the stream. The heavy rain a couple of hours before the meeting can be the only mitigating factor for the track but the disparity between the gates is pretty bad and a lot of the riders seemed to struggle. Decent racing was at a premium too with only a handful of passes in 15 races. Haven’t been to watch for nearly a year now and can’t see me going back anytime soon sadly. -

Credit to both teams on serving up a very good nights racing in not ideal conditions. Promising from both our new signings with more to come from them. -
I won't... It's not a bona fide sporting contest, because, simply, clearly, it cannot be using the operating model.. However, collude with the promoters that it has some relevance and prestige, and enjoy... As I say, it can still be a cracking night out, watching the racing...

If the Witches score begins with a 4 then they will have performed a miracle I'm expecting a 16-20 Aces win
