  1. Past hour
  2. Mitch McDiarmid missing for Oxford because he's riding in Poland.
  3. Who are the two missing riders and what are they up to?
  4. At least it’s being used for housing😀
  5. Tigers back racing at home after a good few weeks and weather is looking decent . Tigers - Kyle Howarth, Vinnie Foord (G), Chris Harris, Kevin Juhl Pedersen, Leon Flint, Sam Hagon, Freddy Hodder. Cheetahs - Sam Masters, Max Perry (G), Edward Kennett, Anders Rowe, Luke Killeen, Darryl Ritchings, Dayle Wood. I'm heading to Ashfield to see this tonight, so looking forward to some good racing.
  6. pootle /ˈpuːtl/ Pootle is a British informal verb that means to travel or move in a relaxed, leisurely, and unhurried manner, often without a specific destination or rush. It can also refer to spending time pleasantly while doing unimportant tasks. [1, 2] For example: "We were pootling along the country lanes in our old car." [1] poodle /ˈpuːdl/ A poodle is an active, highly intelligent dog breed characterized by a dense, curly coat. Originating in Germany (where its name derives from the German word pudel, meaning to "splash in water"), the breed was originally bred to retrieve waterfowl. [1, 2, 3, 4] The term "poodle" can refer to several different meanings depending on the context: 1. The Dog Breed Poodles are classified into three recognized sizes: Standard, Miniature, and Toy. Known for their keen intellect and agility, poodles are also popular because their hair is typically hypoallergenic, meaning they shed much less than other breeds. [1, 2, 3, 4] The Poodle Cut: The elaborate, sculptured haircuts poodles often sport in dog shows were originally designed to protect their joints and vital organs from cold water while keeping them lightweight for swimming. [1, 2, 3, 4] 2. Idiomatic Meaning In British and informal English, the term "poodle" can be used as a derogatory or humorous insult to describe a person who is overly compliant or subservient to authority. [1, 2] Example: "The opposition party accused him of being the Prime Minister's poodle." POOTLE! POOTLE! POOTLE! 😂😂😂 ... not that it bothers me 😂
  7. No point having a strong rider at number 2, his heats are used up to quickly which means later in the meeting you will be weaker, better to have him at 4 so he rides are held back a bit for a run in, and in the meantime if that means the earlier heats you are weaker then it might mean you will be able to use a tac sub to keep it close, no meetings are won by starting strong and finishing weak.
  8. Seemed to me they graded it regularly last night whereas against Leicester the dirt was allowed to build up out wide which made things tricky.
  9. Yeah anyone suggesting that is a bit of an idiot, as you say Poole could've replaced him anytime. A conspiracy theory, would've be Poole preferring to use r/r when they had strong reserves & telling Bowes to take his time with his comeback?
  10. Astounded that they didn't bite Doyle's hand off! Would've put a lot of bums on seats and given the club a massive boost
  11. Spell check preferred the original version, who am I to argue😄
  12. Today
  13. But he did stick rather than twist when everyone knew full well that Tom needed help. Doyle offered that help but the Club/Hurry said no because they didn't want to release three riders and it would've been an easy three picks imo. From a personal point of view, I think it's the Clubs job to re-build Tom after being partly responsible for his loss of confidence.
  14. The racing was good - it seemed much slicker last night than it was the last time I went, maybe that's the answer for Lynn? Brennan was terrible, looked nervous, even when in good positions he gave them away easily. Obviously very low on confidence but Ht 13 was better. Hopefully he can focus on that.
  15. I wondered if any Witches fans were going to appear? 😉 Well done! 😂
  16. Many riders didn't like how grippy the track was.I haven't heard the bit about the fence being less forgiving.Indeed it would be had it not have the foam bags there.
  17. Away from Brum, in 2024, Tom ran a 6.58 average... And that was in a season that included two "weaker teams" in Oxford and KL... Last season there were two "weak teams" in Oxford and Birmingham that he rode against, and did so from the more protected No3 position... Meaning his average made him a No1 this season, but reality, when up against those who are also No1's, said he isn't a No1 really.. Coming off a serious injury, and becoming a No1, was always going to be a big challenge for a rider who naturally, currently, isn't at that level..
  18. Not at all as he’s just a journeyman filling in for super Dan. We’ve had nothing to do with his progression not like those we are most well known for. Jason is more a product of and aligned with Somerset & Swindon.
  19. Tom’s 2024 average with Birmingham was 7.56 (inc bonus) from the tough second heatleader position. Tom’s 2025 average with Ipswich was 7.64 (inc bonus) from the easier third heatleader position. If that’s a great progression (0.08) then we will have to agree to disagree. Tom’s 2026 average with Ipswich is 6.26 (inc bonus) from the tough No1 position. I feel for the lad but he’s made his bed.
  20. Matej’s replacement has to make way as any other changes to the side have to meet the 37 point team building criteria. The only problem for Northampton is their obvious lack of home knowledge. The team put together might not be champions but neither would they be the whipping boys in any other season than this, their first. Had the modest losses at home been turned into modest wins then peoples opinion would be very different as they sit on 9 points in the table instead of 2. Bonus points would follow due to their ability to keep things close away.
  21. I would say August is still really the height of Summer so you may have to think of a better reply. I know Liontamer well and as a previous long standing supporter myself - 70 years for me - I fully understand his feelings. Speedway as a sport is great but all the endless delays between races is not. Numerous laps of watching a tractor go round, sun breaks, riders messing around at the tapes for ages is boring and sadly I don't miss it either.
  22. It seems to me Lynn is a track that you either ride well or not I believe many riders don't like riding there as they say the fence is less than forgiving .In his final season for Wolves PK threw a sicky ( almost unheard of from him)and would not ride at Lynn I assume for fear of injury .
  23. Anyone got any idea what average Batch is on in both championship and premiership?
