  1. Past hour
  2. Says in the SS that we not moving up until we have a bit more of a guaranteed long term future at the stadium.
  3. Where does this Poole don't like it wet come from? I've seen Poole win away when track was wet and home team weren't interested but Poole got stuck in 🤷
  4. Loftus would be the first signing.IMO.Definitely a talent.
  5. Without knowing the ins and outs of any proposed points limit changes/other rule changes i'd be happy enough to see a good few of the 2025 team return with the exception of MPT. Also don't see Palovaara returning on that high an average. Could we persuade Sam up the road for one last hurrah? Mr Riss fancy a return? I'd keep Loftus and maybe add Wood alongside him at reserve. That could be quite a powerful pairing on a fairly modest average.
  6. Sounds decent enough. Not my cup of tea but more importantly clearly not the TV viewing publics either. Don't get me wrong TV companies love filling their schedules with content... ...if people are watching and clearly they're not. Highlights show is fine but it will end up being on the graveyard slot and as someone has said what's the point if someone likes the highlights show enough to turn up to a meeting and it's nothing like the highlights! Everything now is in short bites. It's why nobody watches Match of the Day anymore. The goals from other games are available on the way home from the match. You've see everything you need to see in 10 minutes and you haven't had to listen to Alan Shearer waffle on. Speedway heats are ideal for that just not if you have to wait 10 minutes between them. Speedway was always a family sport but families are a different animal now where the kids call the leisure shots and they just don't like waiting for anything.

  9. A few sheets of plywood and you have your bespoke fence. How wide is the track, couldn't find the info?
  10. Something with response advice will be out this coming week apparently. The general public's reponse to the whole situation has been bizarre The Swindon Needs Speedway group had only a small turn-out when presenting their petition to Council last year (2,300 names but only about a dozen turned up at the Counci), a recent call for funding help saw only a few donate and now some are moaning about the line-up in the Oxford 4TT this week! Social media has over 2,000 followers, but it seems many want speedway back as long as they don't have to do anything themselves to make it happen!
  11. Don't think anyone will pay £450 for a Premiership Season Pass tbh. Are Sky Sports interested?
  12. Yes Poole don't like it wet. Better take some dirt off the track to prepare for the forecast wet conditon on Wednesday afternoon (according to the Met Office for Poole) Or maybe an early call off to wait for sunny conditions. ??
  13. Zischke would be my ideal signing. After the financial issues at Worky last season. The temp suspension and questions on what they might or might not be able to afford for 2026 could he seek guaranteed regular income from the Ford's at Poole. Was rumoured as on way to Poole back in 2023 before Ward suggested Worky would be a more ideal track to start his UK career. His Aussie accident then intervened which wiped out 23 except limited POL U24 in July then his almost career ending 24 season not long after it started, certainly hampered his development. He sits on an arguably low av IF he rediscovers the form that made Belle Vue sign him. IF Cook was leaving you would think he would announce at the end of WED Final meeting similar to what Ben did in 2024. That would get it out the way for planning in 2026. Hope not the case though. I already aired my thoughts on Bowes. Not a fan and gave my reasons on earlier post/s. Mcdermind has lots of potential at still 17 off back of his first season and may well be Leszno choice of foreign U24 rider in POL EXL for 2026. My fear is if it was with Cairns/Rushen & Bailey we could be exposed where Zischke added with those 3 is a bit more experienced with a full season in Prem/Champ.
  14. yup Premier and National Development 🙂
  15. 9 riders finished the season with an average over 8. Kildemand, jeppesen,Harris, dan Thompson, klindt,Wright, king, masters,Lawson.
  16. Wishful thinking Mr Shovlar. Some obtacles ahead..... points limits for 2026 league structures - a "premier" league with only 5 teams ??? who might want to ride for the poole pirates in 2026 ? (allegedly another of the Cook boys doesn't anymore)
  17. Might need to send out a search party for our good friend @TheWellBehavedWorrall last seen or heard from pre 7.30pm on Friday night. 😁

  19. This is why it’s difficult for them to agree on any concrete rules and regulations on league structures for 2026 until they know what (if any) TV revenue will be incoming. It’s not ideal to say the least. Fingers crossed a TV partner comes forward from somewhere so they know where they stand and can crack on with the set up for next year with certainty. As it stands, they must be planning with two different strategies.
  20. 7.88 with 2.5% British reduction if that’s still in vogue for 2026
  21. It isn’t harsh. Professional sports enforce their rules regardless of whether someone is inconvenienced or not.
  22. Well this does seem a bit like trimming up for Christmas in June, but hey ho ho ho. Is it Connor Bailey being referred to? If so what average would he come in on. I wouldn't fancy relying on three youths, cos you never really know how riders will respond when stepping up. Remember Sam Hagon's switch to No2. Also no mention of Kerr, OK not everybodies fav early season. But has come on this season scoring important points in some matches, good for another year at least.
  23. Latest averages have Drew Kemp at 8.12 changing to 8.08 at end of the season
