  2. The draw for the individual Swedish final at 23 June, https://ta.svemo.se/Public/Pages/CompetitionInformation/CompetitionInformation.aspx?CompetitionId=17983&CompetitionApplicationConfigurationId=77991&Result=1
  3. Yesterday
  4. i would say it would the same % as the old days when crowds were massive . As i said fans dont care about guests in speedway and never have always been a complete myth . it would be miles down the list in problems Speedway has ,
  5. Obviously a log of justifiable criticism of the track but it it hadnt been so bumpy Bomber would never have won, he loves a challenge! As a Poole fan Lindback winning was another highlight especially as I had a decent bet on him. Criticism of the hotels is justified also but you didn't have to stay in Cardiff, we hardly ever did preferring to stay outside Cardiff and get a train in.
  6. Just found a great Interview with Vinnie....23 mins long ! Its just been uploaded to youtube....go get it and enjoy !
  7. Cardiff was more about the atmosphere around the City before the meeting and won’t be captured again. The opportunity to see riders from the SGP circuit in thew City and for my kids to get photos and merch etc ... Plus once Ian Jordan rinsed Eastbourne and forced it to close it was the easiest opportunity for my family to see Speedway. The novelty however started to wear off, the hotel prices were extortionate and logistically we changed our plans over the years as my children got older. Go Fri night and make a weekend of it. Then go early Sat AM and return on Sun and for the last Cardiff into Wales Sat AM and driveback after the meeting. Cardiff could never match the NSS for quality of the racing watching British Finals and SON live in Manchester was immense but Cardiff had its own appeal and the gathering of speedway fans all over the country in one place was always a highlight. The tickets were excellent value for money and no fear of a rain off , although on a couple of occasions the track was so poor you could imagine the riders considering not racing due to the state of the track. All in all it was a great occasion but it was like watchimg MK Dons in the final years - "Your grounds to big for you ...."
  8. Would be no surprise if more Polish teams do the same or the PZM look to stop heatleaders riding elsewhere in Europe.
  9. You could hire out Freight Island from midday to 5pm both days relatively cheaply i would guess, the people attending would be drinking and eating so the various franchises would be taking more or less the same amount over the counter as any other friday or saturday. Have the rider draw there, a few bands/DJ's plus a few sideshows and competitions for the fans. It's a winner for me. The idea of putting the GP on screens around the city, if it's not being done then that should be one of the first questions for the organisers.
  10. As I understand the rules Workington will get a "facility" for Cook for 28 days, after that, it's a "75% guest" only.
  11. Only saw on socials the excellence of Pila's team-riding. If in doubt take teamate out.
  12. Looked an awkward one. Lifted on the inside and drifted out and as he regained control coming into the corner his hand and handlebars then slides across gets hit by teamate who is laying bike down and catapults into track then air fence. Looks like a shoulder, collarbone and hand injury.
  13. The 'one off' World Final. Nothing better - discuss. I attended both, and, for me there is no comparison.
  14. JJ has a decent record at Shielfield so wish him well.Reid obviously shouldn’t rush things with that type of injury if not fully recovered.
  15. Because teans staging open meetings usually invite their own riders. You'd be a bit peed off if the club you rode for staged an open meeting and didn;t invite you!
  16. Someone will need to ask him.Only he knows.
  17. In the 70's I did not go to the cubs/scouts due to Friday nite being worky speedway night, if it was today I would be able to go both and only miss a couple of scout nites 😜
  18. Every meeting will be like opening nite at this rate 😜
  19. And if you find someone, they won't come as no flights from worky to Poland
  20. Tim G

    WSBK

Was excellent, also really enjoying the Sportbike class.
  21. No doubt this would've been on, in the 80s, but not these days. "Can you come to play badminton/marbles/tiddlywinks this week?" "What night?" "Thursday." "Oh OK yeah, i used to have speedway that night but it's rarely on these days so I might as well."
