Sheffield v King's Lynn 17/08/26
gjcone44 replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
what a ride from Jody Scott, impressive -
Interesting that Dan Thompson isn't working with Kelsey Dugard any more. Dan's vlogs are really interesting viewing and a really great insight into the sport however i got the feeling KD often felt Dan wasn't taking it seriously enough or that he wasn't as frustrated as he ought to be with poor scores. Their decision to go separate ways might be nothing to do with that or i might be wide of the mark however that was my take from some of the footage.

Honestly never thought we would see him ride again, but thankfully we have.

For more meetings (well at least 3 for nearly every rider) Reintroduce the (Berger/Mirror) Grand Prix Series from the late 70's. Find a National Sponsor. 15 tracks, 84 riders - open to anyone who rides in UK. Each track has one meeting with 16 riders. So, 72 riders will get 3 meetings and the 12 lowest ranked riders will only get in 2 meetings. Riders who currently double up in Prem & Champ can get one meeting at each 'home' track. Keep local fans interested. After 15 rounds, top 16 cumulative points scorers make a Grand Final. The winner could be the Wild Card at the British GP. And in addition the top 16 British Riders in the series qualify for a British Final. You don't ride in UK, you don't make the British Final. Start the series early in the season, so that the finals can be raced before October.

I am not surprised, I believe the meeting was called off after the crash. Lewis is a bit different now, he had hair in those days! Still a good rider and is having a decent season.
-
I don't think it's crazy, Poland will do what suits them best. It's up to the riders to say no, if they feel they won't get enough racing doing Prem, U24 & having the occasional Extrakiga ride.

Every team can have an isolated play off injury like Kenneth Bjerre or an early/mid season injury like the two suffered by Dan Bewley. It’s the regularity and timing of these “curse” injuries that I’m referring to.

That left the building a long time ago...

Rye House Stadium Appeal Update Further Rescheduled Hearing – Wednesday 21 October 2026 at 10:00am The long-awaited appeal that will help determine the future of Rye House Stadium has been further rescheduled and will now be heard on Wednesday 21 October 2026 at 10:00am in the East Hertfordshire District Council Chamber, East Hertfordshire District Council Offices, Wallfields, Pegs Lane, Hertford, SG13 8EQ. The hearing was originally scheduled for Tuesday 20 October, but has been moved to Wednesday 21 October because East Hertfordshire District Council is unable to host the hearing on Tuesday. This is a public hearing, giving supporters and the wider community the opportunity to demonstrate the strength of feeling behind saving Rye House Stadium as a speedway venue. A strong turnout is vital. It sends a clear message that Rye House Speedway has not been forgotten, has not been abandoned, and still has a passionate community prepared to fight for its future. If you support Rye House Speedway—or simply believe that valued community sports facilities should not be lost through unlawful development—please keep this date free and attend if you can. The Planning Inspectorate’s decision to hold a public hearing, rather than determine the appeal through written representations, reflects the significant level of public interest in this case. In the meantime, please continue to support the campaign by signing the petition, submitting your objection, and sharing your memories of Rye House Speedway. Every signature, objection and personal story helps demonstrate the importance of protecting this historic sporting venue. Visit https://www.ryehouse.racing/ to add your support.

Leon helped Berwick dump Workington out the BSN. Glasgow were put out by losing at home to Edinburgh.

Lewis wanted to ride in the second leg but because he had guested previously the rules stated he couldn't. On his guest for the second leg against Wolves he scored Lewis Kerr (G) - 2, 3, 3, 1' = 9+1 Remember that day when he had his accident, the whole stadium just went so quiet.

Thanks for scorers. Did they run Sunday or Saturday lunchtime to avoid clashing with British Final on ITV?

Out of nowhere it has become the single most popular Facebook post we have posted in almost three years. I have no idea why or how it happened lol.

When we won there 44-46, RR for Jack Holder only returned 7 points. Tonight they have Doyle. I can't see a win for the Stars tonight, the Tigers will be smarting from our last visit. We really need the win, but realistically i think we have a chance of getting the aggregate point. 41 points needed. -
Pretty sure tai will dissappear into folklore and get on with family life doing exactly wtf he likes. He's made enough to not have to worry i would think. He owns a car that he's spent hundreds of thousands on and is partial to throwing himself out of planes so good on you tai , have a blast without pressure.

Terrestrial TV coverage can only boost those tracks trying to come back too... If their endeavors get some publicity during the programmes... Developers have played on the fact that the sport has been on a decline, so, anything that ITV endorses would automatically infer otherwise... One of the key strengths the sport has is, as daft as it sounds, it's pretty low starting point, meaning growth can be quick and very noticeable... One or two 2,000 plus crowds and all of a sudden the optics are very different...

I agree it won’t affect travelling fans but there will be some local fans like me who go to the football and speedway. It’s not a big problem but will have to get away from Sixfields quickly and hope there aren’t big queues getting in to Brafield. -
