I think the Witches will have too much for the Aces, but not quite enough for the bonus point. The key, as always with Belle Vue is if Kildemand, Blodorn and maybe Zischke can score enough to support Kurtz and Doyle. Doyle might not ride of course, and even if he does, he's bound to be a little careful. 50-40 Witches.

Yes and he intimated it was a waste of time and the contract ends I think at the end of this season.

Richard was quite clear last night that he thinks it can't really operate properly without 8 teams and that the gap between PL and CL needs to be bigger - he cited Poole and Glasgow as the obvious choices to join but that we'd then need to race on Wednesday as well but he didn't think that was an issue. He also dissed the fact that we've had three home meetings against King's Lynn this year! He wants independent leadership as no sport which runs itself is successful and too many navel gaze about how it affects their track, which doesn't move the sport forwards. Overall I was impressed with his views, he's also badgering the FIM about developing careers of young riders - just having and SGP3 or 4 doesn't generate the riders in the first place. Given he's only been involved this year he seems to have spotted a lot of the flaws/things which need improving and apparently his children can't stop watching speedway!

I don't think Poole will win any trophies this season whiler Bowes is in the team. It's been a tale of injuries/falls and equipment plus poor rides that have led to this. His career in 5 years in POL/SWE has gone nowhere. He has not progressed and last season it went downhill. There is no real demand for the guy in those Countries and this season he only got into a POL squad late and even then not a first choice rider. I feel he is at a place in his career that if he fails at Poole them maybe he won't even get a plaCe in UK speedway either. Meaning back to Aussie as plenty before him have. I questioned his appointment even before he was officially announced. At 25 you think he is still young but remember he has been doing the Euro circuit since 2021` and has not progressed. The question is do they empty him while he is still on a 5 point av as it allows the Fords more scope to sign a more exciting recruit from around Europe. I just hope they don't just let it drag on until he drops below that. Even at reserve i would have no trust in the guy doing well. I also hope the Fords don't just keep perservering irrespectrve just to save money. Would love to proved wrong but 5 years of his statistice don't lie.

At last! This must have been the "Wow!" news that Rob Godfrey was referring to back at the beginning of the season, it took a little longer to be announced than expected but a massive well done to Rob and his management team 😉😁 Without wishing to pour water on Ippo's flame, one swallow does not a summer make and without similar link ups with the remaining 5 PL clubs, and as we've seen this season a 6 team PL isn't big enough, it crucially needs buy in from other Polish clubs and not just with UK clubs. In my opinion the Poles need to ditch their U24 league as it has sucked in riders from across the globe with stars in their eyes and leaving their domestic leagues dry of talent. It'd be far more beneficial for these younger riders to be riding in their own domestic leagues than missing meetings to attend practice sessions or sit in the pits and get no rides. Ipswich do seem to still be very much a lone figure at them moment and for all the call of other clubs likely to follow they are still wantonly and willingly staging fixtures when they know that riders will be missing due to "commitments" elsewhere... and that certainly isn't the Polish way.

Probably true now JJ has found some form, he fits for Bowes, that new engine must be a good one.

RIP Norman, a real team man. When I first started going to the Abbey Stadium back in 1971 the stadium announcer (the late Graham Guthrie) always pronounced Norman’s surname as Strawn. It wasn’t until a certain Gordon signed for Man Utd that I realised I had the wrong pronunciation all those years. Rest easy Norman.

Choice of guest a little surprising. Must have been an acute shortage of available candidates. Bomber admits he is not a gater which is so important at Poole, also usually a critic of track prep at Wimbourne Road ie too slick for him to gain up lost ground. Troy Batch may well have returned more points but that is also not a given. Good to see Berwick keep it tight and I think the momentum could well be with the Bandits now but you never know in Speedway, team circumstances and fine margins come to mind. Should be a good contest on a track where fast gating is also very important, who will have their gating gloves on ? .

Spot on there's probably ten or so riders that have that attitude I would rather have a tryer in at who got 4-5 points a meeting than a fella who could get 13-15 one week and then blatantly show zero interest the next meeting. KK was another case when riding, unbeatable when in the mood and then looked like he had never been on a bike when he didn't fancy it.
-
All this talk about "poaching" riders like they don't have a say in the matter. At the end of the day it's the riders choice whom they race for, as ultimately they're the ones signing the contracts 🙄

This is potentially a very significant and exciting initiative which will hopefully lead to more Polish/British club link ups.

100% was worth the wait, Hyped up announcements from British Clubs are normally always a let down but Mayfield have well and truly delivered. I was very downbeat on Monday night after the battering at Belle Vue but last night's announcement has restored my full confidence that 2027 will be much much different, Light at the end of the tunnel as the saying goes. Riders will always do what the Polish Club tells them to do (We all know that) hence why certain Belle Vue fans are rattled because Kurtz and Bewley are Wroclaw riders. Ipswich need a No.1 in 2027 and with Wroclaw buying 30% of the Witches and a lack of No.1's on these shores, The target will surely be Dan Bewley considering Mark Lemon isn't likely to let Kurtz go for anyone other than Zmarzlik. Bewley dual contract is an odds on shot in betting terms imo.

That is exactly the way he would have spun it if Brennan went back to Belle Vue from Birmingham instead of going to Ipswich and everyone knows it. The bloke is a troll. Ignore him.

I agree. But the Polish cartel has bigger teeth...

Ipswich v Belle Vue 25th June
Siggytastic replied to Aries's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Back from my hols and was looking forward to seeing Doyley but which Bomber will turn up as He has been hit and miss this year? -
This was also touched on in the Ipswich/Wroclaw piece in this weeks Speedway Star. It’s a good read
-
Speedway Futures were mentioned 😂 @Ouch it was mentioned also about Ipswich running a NDL team in the near future.

His attitude at Foxhall was quite telling. Polar opposite to Sayfutdinov who obliterated the Foxhall track record pretty quickly. All riders are different and have different mentalities. It wasn’t just Foxhall where Laguta’s “effort” was called in to question either, there were others.

I do indeed remember them. But I’ll look at it another way to you. We tried to help Tom in the next step of his career to help him progress. Learning from Doyle and Emil and further his speedway education riding in a successful team, giving him a Champions medal in front of a healthy crowd. Instead of leaving him to fester at a club that just wasnt supported, riding in front of one man and his dog at a track that had no future. You can look at things in different ways, depending on your agenda.
