  1. Past hour
  2. Ben has said in numerous interviews that he is flying back first and Zach going back after he's done all his meetings.
  3. Very wet today and tomorrow, so if they manage to run on Weds I'd expect the track to be on the damp side. Which could help Redcar.
  4. Its a thankless task having just missed out on the league, but having to drop 5.54 points if as anticipated the limit stay at 40 points. Poole face similar but not so bad at 4.53 points but maybe softened a bit if Rushen does replace Starke which saves 2 points. It's a difficult juggling act having had 4 H/L near enough as Nagel proved a clever/shrewed signing on 5 points but a future star (when he did turn up and ride). Almost pulled it off as they did with Tarasenko a few seasons back. Personally enjoy the close season thought provoking - rumouring and forum contributors ideas on team make up for the following season. No doubt the Glasgow management are already planning &scheming for a decent team in 2026 despite the headache of building to a 5.54 lower limit than the existing teams final GSA. Must admit looking at the final Lge GSA's its a real head scratcher even as a Poole Supporter to find the right combination of riders to get to 40 points. That with knowing at least 2/3 riders who won't be there next season due to either performance or having to shed 4.53 points off the current squad. We need a strong Glasgow as its good for the support. I say that as a Poole supporter 😀
  5. Zach will be there, you really think our captain would miss our final meeting. Ben on the other hand maybe on his home, he has had a tricky season with injury.
  6. It's only Ben who's flying home to Oz on Monday, Zach is staying until the season is over
  7. Today
  8. Think it was a hell of a performance considering the pressure cooker atmosphere of less than 24 hours earlier at Glasgow and the effort put in to win the League Play off. Can you imagine winning the FA Cup/Prem Lge or similar and having the players turn out 24 hours later for another final. Riders etc had little time to prepare bikes & set ups etc bearing in mind the also 3.5 hour drive from Glasgow assuming the riders didn't even touch home base most likely after the celebrations of Friday. Would have been happy even with an 8 point defeat after all that. No surprise some had a few mechanical gremlin after all that. Fortunately a good few days to recover and sort out any issues and set ups for Wed last math of the season.
  9. So what the Premiership needs, much like football, is a massive injection of money so riders don’t have to double up and ride in the championship. Then championship teams would be desperate to ride in the prem for money, but you then add promotion and relegation so you have jeopardy . That would be the catalyst for some good racing and more risk, bringing fans in as they would see some meaning to the meetings. Not this joke of any team choosing what league they want to ride in. A lot of championship fans on here comment “let the premiership run how it wants and we will do our own thing” so let that be the case. No doubling up, all top riders ride in Prem only due to money being bigger, and championship and NDL can do their own thing, see how many then want to make the jump up to the top league. The Prem should be the ‘promise land’ and all champ teams want to be in it, dilute their teams and league but limiting the top riders only in the prem and see how many comments change then, as all they want to do is dilute the prem to be their level of riders.
  10. What you have just described is the current NDL.....
  11. Just caught up with the stream. Another good performance from the boys lining us up nicely for the treble on Wednesday night. Let’s hope the wet weather predicted holds off. Though next Friday is predicted dry. Charles Wright the meeting winner for Redcar. His best performance against us this season? Some of the Poole boys looked tired. Not surprising after the night before.
  12. Does that mean he is (technically) withholding his services? The season doesn't officially end until 31st October and he's booked his flights before that date? What are the rules regarding this situation?
  13. Put too much weight on it has to go.
  14. So no Zach Cook for the 2nd leg at Poole. He mentioned in the Glasgow match interview he and his brother Ben were flying back tommorow being Monday
  15. Rory the tiger, another potentially on the chopping block?
  16. I can tell you from vast experience from a mechanics point of view from heat 1 to heat 15 the meeting feels like it’s going 1000 mph, you rarely get to see any other races except your riders races and you are constantly working on the bikes inbetween his races and if you are a trusted and long term mechanic (not just for a night )the intensity is amplified because their race win/loss becomes your win/loss and from a riders point of view depending on how involved you are with your bikes the meeting ticks along just nicely, it is a completely different experience to the fan experience and far more intense
  17. Fully agree. 7.93 Home average. Very happy with that.
  18. The next important thing for Wednesday night at Poole is who guests for Redcar or will it be R/R 🤷‍♂️
  19. If riders rode Horsens without the neutral zone that the rulebook states needs to be there, why not Bradford? I tried to use a capital Y to mean a group of people, not just you.
  20. Of course anyone that is picked doesn’t have to accept it that’s a given. I think that’s unlikely however. The financials and the chance to ride with world class riders would be too tempting to turn down. It also doesn’t matter how much Louis would want him unless he signed him at number six which wouldn’t happen. If Ipswich give up their retention of Edwards, they’d have to sit and wait for their pick and I’m sure someone would go for Rushen before Ipswich got their chance. Unless Cooper did what Jenkins did last year, reject the advances of other clubs that picked them first and then accept Ipswich’ offer when it’s their turn! Another reason why this rising star scheme doesn’t work and is a total nonsense. No rider should be forced to ride where they’re told, that should NEVER have been the case and good on Jenkins for sticking to his guns and riding where he wanted. Scrap it.
  21. Just enjoyed my celebration cooked brekkie at the Premier Inn Middlesbrough. Ok we didn't win the 1st leg but just the 2 points in it sets the Treble up nicely. Fair play to Redcar for winning fair and square. And a nice welcome from the announcer to the Pirates ☠️ sat in the 'royal box'. Great effort by the Pirates despite their mechanical issues. All set up nicely for Wednesday at WINborne Road 👍 C'mon the Boyzzz ☠️ 💪 *Had 2 celebration flat white's ☕☕ 😀
  22. Cooper & the team around him seem very level headed. I think everyone would love to see Cooper become a Witch. However I think if Coopers team decides it’s too early then he’ll give it a miss. If he is picked he doesn’t have to accept the rs position. Louis could well be one of those who is advising him who knows.
  23. I’ve asked about the crowd capacity at Glasgow which apparently is small which most probably rules it out to host a GP. Regarding Ipswich, I’ve suggested it could be a suitable venue using the existing track or as some folk think the circuit is not suitable, maybe utilise some or all of the stox track build a temporary track for a GP. Yes I do know air fences can be leased and do not see that as an issue for either of the Ipswich suggestions. Re Bradford - what’s with a 1 metre run off area? Where /why would it be located? And how will that resolve the challenge of removing a building which currently negates a neutral zone being in place? You may say “rules can be changed” maybe so - but whilst that building is in place no rider would take to the track nor frankly the FIM expect them to do so as obtaining insurance would be impossible.
  24. The way I saw it was that the Tobias/Ace move was in essence simply a block pass, accurately carried out be it close/harsh, and Ace had options. Ace should have gone. With the Kyle/Zac one it was always going to be close/harsh, but the manoeuvre was poorly executed (there seemed to me to be significant contact). But on balance a racing incident, part and parcel of the spectacle we love to watch. If Zac had fallen (any which way) it would have forced the ref to exclude Kyle. Both incidents were on the edge racing, fit for a final.
  25. From Parken, Horsens, Cardiff, Narodowy, Ullevi, Ratina, Toruń, Wrocław and the two at Stockholm... We (actually You) are now talking Glasgow for a Grand Prix and how a 100k euro APD prevents Ipswich of all places from hosting a Grand Prix. APD's can be leased you know, and Bradford can host a Grand Prix with a 1 meter run off area. All Bradford needs is a promoter willing to do it and they'll change the rules. They've done it for Horsens previously.
  26. Don’t know if I’m easily please but I’m happy with the usual 90mins it takes to run a meeting. Even if it runs over at 120mins its ok with me. The replays and interviews on the big screen plus those over the mike keep my interest between heats, if I’m not chatting with folk that is. Add in the antics of Chase and his interval white line challenge for the kids (big & small) pass the time nicely. Andy sticks to his regular quick track grades with only two of the four “holding things up” as the others are at the interval and before heat 15 when there are breaks anyway. Pre meeting we have Philips manager interviews and post meeting we have the press conference with Hayley & Lee before we can have one to one chats with the riders, all in the lovely surrounds of the Peter Craven suite. Being from an era of three TV channels, a whip & top to play with and chippy tea being a treat, perhaps my entertainment sensibilities are out of step with current trends. I agree about the stats thing and I’ve spoken with people trying to produce an app to draw the kids in using stats but nothing has surfaced yet. Also there should be more for the managers to do and us second guess them as currently the format is far too ridge, for no apparent reason that I can see.
