  2. Very sad to hear this
  3. And me, + a few biccies. Have take bit of an issue with recent Star however & their 'winners & losers awards of 2025' tho. They branded Glasgow as 'losers' after a season running neck & neck with Poole for the Champs title, only losing out by - one race, yet not a mensh of Scunny who finished bottom. No bias here, as I know people who are heavily involved at both tracks and I do know what it feels like when your team wins trophies or finishes bottom / last. I very much know which I prefer. And 2nd ISN'T 'the first of the losers', it means you performed very well on that occasion / season and only one competitor or team were better than you. Don't believe me: ask the competitor / team placed 3rd or 4th if they'd care to swap places....

  5. I’m beginning to wonder if this 6th team talk is a smoke screen to deflect from they haven’t secured the 5th team yet and it stops people talking about the Ipswich situation until it is resolved,,if it was a done deal they would surely be able to release fixtures by now, so clearly all is not sorted
  6. Thr 8% reduction's only applicable for returning from injury (not including one inflicted to someonr else)
  7. Published Fact today…..but it’s speedway !
  8. It's way too strong. The NDL must always be below 42 to allow the riders who have reached the limit of NDL to move up to Championship, and be replaced by fresh new 3.00 talent. Unlike the professional leagues where the mean average is 42, the mean average for NDL should be around 36. This allows a 9 point rider to move on and be replaced by a 3.00. All a 42-point limit will do is serve those who are on an ego trip to win a trophy, clog the league with 30 and 40 year old has-beens, hold back those who need to move onwards, and block out the 15-year-olds.
  9. There's plenty of Jokers running the British League without doing that although you do have a good point. You never know - Redknapp's Wild Card (Poole Pirates) seeded straight to the final
  10. I think you need to factor in the riders who exit the NDL pool as a consequence of having moved on to higher things [or retired in Ben Trigger's case]. With Prem and Championship places already will Cairns, Rushen and Scott be looking for NDL places, and have Joe Thompson and Luke Harrison outgrown the league? If some of these riders don't take up NDL spots I think you are looking at 40 or even 38 as the sweet spot for the limit.
  11. "2026 Season With the 2026 Season fast approaching, we would like to keep our customers informed of the current situation. With the well-publicised delay to the British Speedway AGM, our arrangements for the new season have been pushed back later than usual. We are currently in talks to confirm a new contract and building new packages alongside the BSPL to bring even more speedway to your living room for 2026. BSN remains fully committed to British Speedway and excited for the season ahead. As soon as we have further clarity, we’ll announce our plans and 2026 pricing via our socials, website, and email." Looks like things are far from settled for the 2026 season. I wonder if BSPL are looking to make up some shortfall in lost TV money from BSN?
  12. A 42 point limit isn't actually a particularly strong league imo. Every year then limit is below 42 then the league is weaker than previously, so technically last season was the weakest ever development league. Even when clubs sign a 3 pointer who doubles or triples their average, the league should average out at 42. All a 42 point limit does is stop improving riders missing out in team spots, which is a good thing. It's a shame there's only 6 teams, but at least there's still a development league running. If clubs lose money on the NL, perhaps every Prem & Champ team who don't enter should pay a nominal "training fee" to be shared amongst the clubs that do? After all in future years they'll want to use riders other clubs spent money on training (Cairns / Rushen etc). 😉
  13. Oxford have confirmed the Chargers will be running “in a six-team National Development League”. Race nights Wednesdays and Fridays.
  14. RIP Bob, thanks for the memories
  15. Hope it isn't like Sheffield and the new investor pulls out, then where will Ipswich/ speedway be 🤔
  16. A whole section on here about the said person, ( scum bag ) look on speedway news section
  17. Rather looks to me as if iwade track is sticking point. Just a hunch.
  18. Fact. And a 42 point limit will see the "win at all costs" people pushing the costs up.
  19. Is this all fact, or just what you've heard?
  20. The Speedway Champions website is really one of the very best for every speedway fan with a sense for the great history of our sport. Highly recommended!
