  1. Past hour
  2. If it was me I’d have guests at the NSS (mostly Jaimon) and RR away as nobody cares about away meetings and it will save us a bob or two to spend on a decent signing for the last five days of our qualification campaign. A top GP man might come over for those last few days before the play offs and then it’s all to play for. For RR away I’d run Peter, Brady, Brady, (one a TS), Zach & Zach (15). That should allow us to keep losses close then use our massive home track advantage* to secure bonus points. *Copy write BSF
  3. Vinny looked better in the U21, getting his match fitness back, looking forward to Saturday as he has sent his engines for a fresh up.
  4. Will was sitting in last place and knew that Cooper was away and gone with no chance of catching him. A place on the rostrum was better than 4th and so he had to go for the gap that Pijper had left. If he got through he got third. If he failed it would have been the same as where he was before he went for it. Logic says go for it. He nearly pulled it off but not quite. He did catch Pijper wheel so was rightly excluded but it almost came off. The reaction from Pijper though was ridiculous, and frankly, totally expected knowing his personality. He nearly always likes to throw a hissy fit in a meeting. First tantrum when it looked like his mechanic didn’t put fuel in his bike, then a second when he was taken out. He will soon discover someone bigger and tougher will knock him spark out if he comes charging up to the wrong person who won’t take that behaviour. His pit crew were just as bad.
  5. Wonder what you mean Mr bus driver 😜
  6. It’s been a while but speedway’s back with a bang in the Borders this Saturday. Typically dreich spring weather means it will be 49 days since the last high-octane racing action at Shielfield Park. But who better to relaunch the season than Glasgow Tigers, a team packed with track specialists against a Bandits side hoping to welcome back Peter Kildemand to the fold after injury and handing a debut to Jordan Jenkins. At 43, Chris “Bomber” Harris shows no sign of slowing down and recently qualified for the World Championship Challenge while Berwick-born-and-based Leon Flint, the ultra-exciting Kyle Howarth and Danish newcomer Kevin Juhl Pedersen all know their way around Britain’s paciest racetrack. But in Nick Morris the Bandits also have an all-out racer in fine form, guesting for a number of clubs and riding with Premiership Leicester during the Bandits’ hiatus, while Victor Palovaara was just two points away from joining Harris in the GP Challenge. Berwick already have an eight-point victory under their belts over their noisy neighbours, in the BSN Series. That went right down to the wire and there’s no reason to think Saturday night will be any different. As always accompanied under-16s go free so make a family night of it at Shielfield Park where there are 1,400 seats in the covered grandstand, terracing and grass banking viewing areas which allow you to get up close and personal to the action. There’s also two licensed bars and a takeaway hot food restaurant. Gates open at 6pm, first race is at 7pm. Buy your tickets online from berwickspeedway.com/tickets or pay cash on the night. Oh, and parking's free.
  7. Adam Ellis wants a return to British speedway this season!
  8. Today
  9. Pretty sure Seifert comes in with CMA 1.250 and will ride at 7, moving Ejnermark (1.273) to number 2. The same in Indianerna lineup. Buczkowski still with starting CMA 1.250, will be at 6, exchanging places witth Rasmus Karlsson (1.316).
  10. TV cameras show a different angle, I thought it was a 50/50 call, don’t dispute it.Just youthful enthusiasm like you say.Ace seems to think he is already a superstar, Theo needs to tell to behave and stop throwing the bike down in a tantrum and send him back to pick it up.All in days work for the mechanic though.🤔👎
  11. That sounds reasonable, and fair....
  12. So weather permitting, Pirates have a full 1-7 again with Cooper in at 4, as expected, and Fraser returning at 2. Should be a close meeting imo, but Poole to reach the final.
  13. Only saw it from the camera coverage, but the fact Cairns' back wheel caused the issue to Piper's front suggests there was a gap there long enough to give it a go... As you say, "youthful exuberance", but good to see all the same... It wasn't a reckless act by any means which would rightly have been criticised accordingly... To reach the highest levels you need to take calculated risks, which, sometimes, you fail with... I do think an U24 Championship would be something worth considering until the U21 level can stand alone with enough riders of sufficient quality... It would also give any "wunderkinds" (that we seem to have very regularly considering we are a nation who end up with very few top level riders), a more realistic appraisal of where they are in the "real world", and may also then have people being less over the top, and pressured, in their expectations of them...
  14. Please say this is true. Im not one of these who will hate on him. Hes a class act on a bike when he does ride. It was nice to see him mountain biking with Dayle Wood on weekend with a smile on his face.
  15. Here's what I think will happen because it's British Speedway after all where unprofessionalism and under-handed tactics eventually plays a role. 1. Belle Vue will use Guests until Matej Zagar has made a full recovery. 2. Once Matej Zagar is fit we will get a statement from Northampton about how delighted they are to bring Matej Zagar back into their septet only it won't be in place of Jonas Jeppesen, It'll be in place of Jaimon Lidsey because Northampton have been so impressed with Jonas since he joined the Club. 3. Belle Vue then sign Jaimon Lidsey and go on to win the League.
  16. Dudek rides at 1 for Dackarna replacing Laguta. Seifert-Salk replaces Fajfer for Piraterna
  17. All these expert analysists who weren’t even at the meeting. The view from up above the entrance to the third bend showed that Cairns went for a gap that wasn’t going to be there for long and clearly took out Pijpers front wheel, not on purpose, just youthful enthusiasm, but it did happen.
  18. Yes, I miss the World Final, a 20 heat event (with run-offs where needed). And I miss all the qualifying rounds, virtually every track, then the national finals and international qualifiers too. And I miss the Empire Stadium. New Wembley does nothing for me. No doozledogs!
  19. Jason is nearly a point under Dan and Dan’s CMA is 1-2 points under his actual 2026 Speedway Star figure so whatever we do it’s no kind of replacement. Looking at final 2025 figures, Jaimon is marginally higher than Jason so if Northampton agreed we could have Jaimon and they could have Jason. A GP man lining up for them might produce a bit of press and we could keep our family intact rather than sign a journey man.
  20. Your right about the fans that turn up are maybe not fussed, but crowd levels have decreased because for a lot of them it is a mickey mouse circus watching the same riders riding for every team in the league over a season. No credibility in the sport .IMO
  21. Specsavers for you if you saw Ace hit the fence.Slid across the track without bike just reached the fence.Dont I would call that “torpedoed” into fence.
  22. Only saw it on YT but there did seem to be a Zmarzlik sized opportunity to dive bomb into turn three... Cairns took that chance and, given the one camera angle from his side of the track, looked like he may have got passed without touching Piper... Either way, good to see someone prepared to take racing risks...
  23. Cook will be back for the Oxford meeting this week
  24. EVERY meeting should have some junior racing incorporated into it.... The old Scottish Junior League structure would do if they wanted to make "teams".... Track time being the gain, rather than money being made... That can come later when progression happens...
  25. Instead of renaming competitions, they could think about mandating all clubs run a junior team and give these kids some bike and track time! I'm not keen on him myself... but that's great 👍The sport needs these marmite characters... or just characters would be a start.
