Doesn't help any bandit fans planning to travel or already booked flights trains hotels, especially as the weather forecast is good for travelling fans

No, no equivalent. I also don't think the Ben Fund is just for British riders, so what you say is true in terms of independent financial support to riders.

Lions v Witches, Monday 6th July
SPEEDY69 replied to tocha's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Dry slick tracks suit some more than others and no surprise that Musielak did well given his Polish experience, certainly made the meeting a little more entertaining. Not sure what's going on with Lawson but I don't think the Ipswich management will be too impressed but if he was genuinely ill then that can't be helped. Will King be back on Thursday and if so, then R/R could be used for him if he's still ill?? -

There does always seem to be dozens of "lurkers" daily... Ironically, and suitably, a good many of them are "Guests"... -
And the nonsense of the pre season will not have helped.. I truly have never seen any business or entity commit so much Harikiri on itself as Speedway in the UK has done, particularly over the past 20 years as the digital age has boomed.. Year after year they have made poor decisions which have just compounded the poor decisions from the previous years... Normally a business would fix its issues, even more so when they are so glaring and obvious, and their customers either tell them publicly, or tell them by no longer attending, but still closely following the sport.. I truly would love to know what the promoters vision for the sport is, and where they aspire to take it... As all it currently looks like is this... "Make it to the end of this season, do exactly the same thing next, then rinse and repeat ad infinitum"...

Championship Predictions 2026
Gambo95 replied to Paddy The Rebel's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I don't see a problem either but it doesn't help when teams are offered dates and don't take these dates (was mentioned that the rained off teams were offered other date during Berwick's 6 week break). It also seems strange the Ben fund, GP qualifier, Speedway GP, British Final, Championship pairs, Riders individual final are all on a Saturday). -

If they get on with it and there are touchwood no holdups meeting could be finished by 8-45pm.

and we have one rugby team play in Scotland and another play in England. Confusing lol
-
Think Plymouth should call it off and give Berwick the match points.π
-
IMO that's not a reason, I attended the 2 days of the GP paid 2 nites in a city centre hotel and still attended Workington meetings either side. Just saying π

Northumberland is in England thank god

Foxhall crowds are down too. Combination of having a poor team this year and losing the two popular heatleaders, and the new streaming service will tempt some to save a tenna and watch at home instead.

Musielak is a joy to watch when heβs on it like this. Box office

I've attended 4 or 5 British meetings since my club closed in 2018. Lawson has been in all of those meetings and every meeting he has turned up late and a few minutes before the start or just after. Sounds like he doesn't do Press and Practice days either. No idea why the clubs allow this sort of behaviour.

The lack of any kind of tv deal has killed it quicker than most expected. You need eyes on the sport and a broadcaster that has reach through their various portals to keep the sport relevant in general. If you're a neutral and don't support a club, unless you are on here you'd pretty much never know when there is a match. The thought that very poor quality streams being sold for 15 quid a pop would be good or save the sport was always a ridiculous opinion that came only from those making money out of it...

Good to see the riders intro at the start line last night and a couple of practise laps far better than the 1 lap intro. Just need some lights fitting above the start line before the dark nights return and I will be a happy..lol Credit to Drew last night thought well worth the rider of the night, For Ippo Musielak was awesome proper racer from memory rode decent last year when Brum was in town, Must say get no joy and a little sad to see Nichols struggling, been such a great servant to this sport over the years and gave many of us so much pleasure in his career maybe the championship is now his level in his final year. All good things come to an end and all that. -
Middlesbrough (Redcar) have already called off their NDL fixture.
