The swedish speedway league have made a deal with tyre company Mitas that means all riders in the 3 leagues over there have to use those tyres. Some big names including Zmarzlik and Lambert are not happy. They prefer Anlas who also provide tyres for the GP and UK. Potentially could mean riders will leave the Swedish league for UK or Denmark.

Ipswich May not be the only British team with a formal association to a Polish Club Extraliga team in 2027 Clubs appear to be keen to get some of their younger riders over to ride in the UK as well which would be a good thing

I’m sure the lads appreciate your take on them this season. I’d imagine they felt quite chipper having pretty much emulated the great teams of 2023/4, but then have you and others telling them it’s been a trying, make do and mend team that fans what to see the back of with the hope for a better year in ‘27. There’s a word for fans like that which you are very aware of - apparently.

I thought they were talking about Sedgmen not Kemp?

Excellent. It’s been flat this year losing not just one, but both hugely popular heatleaders and the crowd level has taken a hit. You knew what I was getting at. But carry on being a dickhead 🙄

Just tell him to shout his best/loudest fook from Perth they will here him in Manchester with any luck

It’s certainly has been a trying season for the witches with just a 4th place finish & a KO cup final. Having been use to the last few seasons of success with Jason & Emil steering them to a 4th place finish & a KO cup final in 2023 and a 4th place finish & a KO cup final in 2024 it must be hard for their fans to take this year’s level of mediocrity.

Lions v Witches 14th September
False dawn replied to Badge's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I watched this meeting on the stream. Watching Drew trailing in last or worse, seeing him pull up at the back, was doubly galling as we were treated to replays of races from the BV match 7 days earlier. These included Drew blasting round the outside, scoring 6+2 including a victory over Brady Kurtz. The man is a mystery. -
I’m pleased for the management at Ipswich that they’ll have the first leg at home because that will ensure a much better crowd than a second leg with very little hope of progression after a probable thumping at the NSS. That isn’t be defeatist, just realistic. It’s been a trying first season for them due to the lateness of the takeover so a chance to swell the coffers a little is welcome.

That's great. It also explains why everyone thinks that BV are going to win the play offs. They put 3 riders out in each race!- 1 reply

Excuse my ignorance, but what's the SVEMO tyre deal?

That @SteveArena pops up on various threads sticking the boot in on Richard Coleman. He has a bit of an unhealthy obsession with the bloke for some strange reason.

The joint Wroclaw & Ipswich contracts could certainly be interesting. Hopefully Coleman gets the backing of the BSPL to bring in some changes next year too. If true that the British Final was watched by 134k on ITV then maybe all is not lost for the sport.

So is not finishing your job, and stopping many times without any good reason before it is completed... Promoters certainly let the tails wag the dogs, and it does them little favour.. Even worse, they lose even more respect by still giving certain riders jobs...
-
Not many do that to Douglas around there! Especially this year.

Part of me enjoys the off season almost as much as the season itself! AGM, League set ups, rules and regs, team building. Fingers crossed the hoped eight team top league comes to fruition, or seven at the very least.

Artur Rusko and Richard Coleman have been busy the last few days putting the bulk of an Ipswich team together for next year , so you’d think things have already been loosely agreed for the League next year behind the scenes. Going to be an interesting few weeks ahead.
