I wonder the difference between TNT and BSN and if the latter would have given it more time… oh well, decision made so such is life.

I can't say if it's a good decision or not. I'm not a track curator and conditions at the track might be different to where I am. All I can say is that my garden was dry at 2.30 pm yesterday when it started to rain. It wasn't heavy rain and it had left off by about 8.00 p.m. What I will query is why the decision was taken so early, especially as Sheffield is only 70 miles away up the M1.

Poor old Dave. Just think under the new system, he could have been a two time world champion!!!

Actually been warm when the sun's been out, which it has here near Ipswich for much of the day. Great drying weather with the wind but the TV company need certainty, not "well it might not rain and be fine" kind of answer. If TV not there it may have been a different decision.

My mistake

I’m not necessarily talking about the racing. The Portsmouth Southampton football match that was screened on ITV was as dull as dishwater. In fact quite a lot of live football I have seen has been uninspiring & certainly not highly entertaining for the majority of matches as you would think for a sport that is dripping in money. It’s the product people want to be involved with the entertainment value of the spectacle is secondary. Get the competitions & the overall product right.

So good decision to call it or not? Sounds similar to the weather here in Ipswich… I keep debating if it’s too windy to race or not

I'm four miles from the track. Its been very windy but no rain so far today. It was sunny this morning but very overcast now.

He seemingly could not be bothered in that last heat. Was it because it did not matter as the meeting had been won or has he got to the point where he should take your advice. I have thought for some while that he should do as you suggest.

Anyone live near Leicester and can say how bad the weather is today out of curiosity?

Watching some Speedway will make a pleasant change from watching weather forecasts.

Away from the game, Redknapp’s public popularity was confirmed when he won the 2018 series of ITV reality show ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ Speedway Futures Ltd was set up in 2024 and became the commercial and media rights holders of British Speedway, with the specific objective of attracting long term commercial investment to develop the sport in the UK. Morris said: “There’s been extensive work over the last year or so, firstly in terms of bringing together a team of people with experienced commercial backgrounds, and expertise in media, which can help us develop the sport. “Obviously the aim is to bring additional investment into British Speedway, and we have been talking to major multinational sports investment groups about potential future involvement in speedway in the UK. “Speedway Futures are the new media and commercial rights holders for British Speedway, and we do have various potential deals in discussion which we believe can make a real difference to the sport “As far as Harry is concerned, it’s marvellous news, and it comes from a direct connection with a member of the Speedway Futures team who approached him about getting involved. “He will be joining the Speedway Futures Management team, which is great news. He will be focussing on leveraging his commercial and media contacts for the benefit of British Speedway and also actively raising the sport’s profile through all his connections. “He has over 1.4 million followers on social media, and that automatically creates a new audience and gives us the opportunity to reach out to groups who we wouldn’t otherwise be able to target. “To bring in someone with such a general reach and appeal as Harry can only help us to increase overall interest and hopefully bring in significant investment.”

Agree - It has just been an unlucky weather window this year It could happen in any month whenever the plays off were organised for

See it on facebook as well people moaning about having the play offs in September due to the weather . September can sometimes be the best month of the year and we still have 6 weeks tll the end of the season anyhow. Sometimes a speedway meeting can be rained off its just unlucky.
