I'm not convinced Lindgren will get a wild card, if he's made a comeback for the league but not GPs, organisers may think "if he doesn’t prioritise us, why should we prioritise him"?

I'd like to use that average GP score system to choose would cards, if your average score wouldn't put you in the top 7, you're not eligible for a wild card?

Some rider's can be brilliant in the leagues, but not able to do the same in the GPs, while others can perform on the big occasion.

100% disagree with that. I'd argue it's better to have a weak field that qualified than a strong field who got seeded. Problem with using averages is some positions are harder than others, riders could miss difficult meetings through injury, Zmarzlik's team mates don't race against him or are they in fact hindered by finishing behind him if bonus points didn't count. I do believe it would be better running the GP challenge after the final GP, top qualifiers vs bottom GP riders for the remaining spots, probably more chance of the top riders qualifying then.

The best system would be..... Top 4 overall. Next best 2 via GPs rounds contested / points scored. If a Wildcard wins a round, they'd be nailed on. Bewley & Holder despite injuries would be fine this year. 1 rider by league average from that country by league average for leagues in UK, Denmark & Sweden. Guarantees a Brit/Swede/Dane. If that rider qualifies by another means, 3rd in GPs rounds contested / points scored. European Champion. Challenge winner (no GP riders allowed). 1 fans social media vote. 1 pick from organisers. 2 wildcards (1 organisers pick, 1 social media fans vote).

Edwards has stagnated this season. Has no aggression at all. Has had gradual progress on previous seasons. Jake Allen is no more than a 6 point average rider now. Mulford's progress is also not rapid. Of the two current reserves. Jody is by far the better prospect of the 2. As for Lambert. have never rated him. Awkward clumsy style. Terrible signing by the Promotion.

Couldn’t have said it any better. We’re in a position that we are because there doesn’t seem to be a massive amount of thought behind the teams we put together. In terms of riders exceeding their average, the comets very rarely seem to find anyone who can do so. Thomson, Loftus, Klindt, Wood, Hagon, Flint, McDiarmid were all riders at the start of the season I would’ve loved comets to sign, as they have clear potential to exceed their average. As proven. Regarding Batchelor, The ‘new engine’ has been an issue for a while as he hasn’t been buying any new equipment allegedly. That can’t be helping performances. The mentality at Workington is now to basically expect to get beat at home as it is a ‘fair track for all riders’. Sod that, you set a track up so it suits your team and make it a struggle for the opposition. Workington 1-7 this year has been nothing short of a disaster. Losing Cook hasn’t helped and as mentioned NHJ is a failed experiment. Batchelor is finished. Tate I think has been great at times but still not consistent enough. Jonas has been a breath of fresh air, loved having him in the team. Vinnie has a limit and that’s a 4 point average. Couldn’t really understand why they had him back on something close to that. Max has done well picking up points and if he had been there start of the season (Unlucky to just miss out on average), Workington may have found themselves sitting in a more promising position. There is so much to be sorted for next year including a stronger team that looks like it has been put together by a strategy and a vision, rather than picking convenience. I for one hope that starts with Nicolai Klindt. Without knowing what the constraints were with team building, he should’ve been nailed on for this season anyhow! Hoping that Workington Comets speedway are around next year, and that the team they construct is a lot more competitive than this current one.

Tonight's result was a shocker for the higher ups. Always run that risk with the qualifying set-up though and this year it's bitten them on the backside.

Good to see, Too many riders are far too friendly on the bike these days. Woryna has that old school ruthless streak in his blood. Easy 4 Wildcard picks as well. Bewley, Holder and Lindgren are rock solid GP riders who always qualify on merit. Fricke only has 1 good GP a year that puts him into Wildcard contention (Shouldn't be the case) but you can't give him one in 2027 as too many big consistent big hitters need one after missing most of the series through injury. Doyle's days are numbered at GP level and his GP talking points are the crashes and exclusions tbh. Kubera is bang average outside of Poland tbh and does nothing in the GP's. Kvech has had his chance and done nothing. 50/50 between Dudek and Thomsen and you'll have to give the 4th Wildcard to the latter if Dudek doesn't win a GP.

Wasn't there tonight but was at football last week. Was rumours doing the rounds that the floodlights were being fed from that area as a couple of floodlights failed. Possibly a temporary measure until the lights problem is fixed?

Far better meeting than I expected. Congrats to all 6 or maybe 7 qualifiers, and to Dave Goddard and commentary team for good coverage. A pleasant change from Kelvin and his parrot. The downside of the system of knockout comps that lead to the Challenge is that better riders can left behind due to injury/incidents/mechanicals (or in stronger countries lack of initial qualifying allocations) and thus enable a weak field and lower standard of qualifiers as has happened this year. Thomsen missed his qualifier due to injury, Piotr Pawlicki had only two rides in his, and Jan Kvech three in his. They are far better riders than many that made it here tonite. And for example Lidsey, Becker, and Rohan who all had blinders (for them) in the qualifiers continually prove that they cannot perform consistently at the top level. To my mind a better system to determine the top 15/16 riders for GP's would be use the seasons top riders from the league comps as the starting point for qualification. No rider under a 2.0 point heat average in the leagues (maybe 1.8 in Polish extraligue) is going to be competitive for a GP season.

Another very entertaining meeting with some great Speedway, well done to both teams for that. The difference today was Monarchs reserve Jordy Loftus who scored more points than the total accumulated by Batch, Vinnie, Niklas and Max for the Comets. Huge thanks to guest Nicolai Klindt who was quite simply different class today, he tried single handedly to get us over the line but as a collective we were not up to the task. If Jonas had been riding today I believe we would have suffered our 4th defeat at home in the league from 6 meetings. There is still time to make team changes and I wouldn't blame the management for going down this avenue. We scrapped well to salvage a point with the 5-1 in heat 15 so well done Nicolai and Drew Kemp for that because it would have been harsh to get nothing from the meeting and was at least some consolation for the home fans.

Happens every year an absolute shocker of a rider makes it through 🤣 It's the reason I'll repeat again. The Speedway Grand Prix Series should be a closed shop. The best rider's in the world should be hand picked. The top 12 automatically qualify & the best 4 rider's with the highest amalgamation of averages from at least 2 leagues from:- •Ekstraliga •Elitserien •Speedway Ligaen •Premiership

Well after a dodgy start we preserved our home record but nowhere near getting the bonus point,Nick and Peter doing the business when it mattered,on a side note no power on back straight tea bar and toilets closed I was informed reliability that was the doing of the football club not a good sign, reminds of there's a rumour going round a fuse is going to blow,10 cc rubber bullets

Utopia is eight teams in the top league and all have two World Class riders... The reality is though that laying out circa £14k per two riders, per team, for two meetings, currently, simply isn't justifiable... Especially without any TV contract, and also being reliant on Sponsors who may not always afford to keep underwriting the costs. A Speedway team should only be paying out that kind of money if they are also spending several thousand a week in "non Speedway Bubble" advertising and have a (at least), three times per week online presence on the various digital platforms.. I have just watched a YT content done by a lad who owns a sandwich shop in Yorkshire.. In it, he shares his costs to highlight why a sandwich isn't "a quid" to buy... During the content he talks about how over the past four years his shop has evolved.. About 12 months ago he went "viral" using his personality and quality of food, now the day to day running is done by his staff, as he is the "face" of the business... Meaning he spends his time less "hands on" at the shop, but more releasing content and, very importantly as he mentions, monetizing the content as it is bringing in some big money.. Big money from people travelling in from far and wide who have seen him on the various platforms, plus what the considerable amount the gigital platforms are paying him.. As he says, if you don't have major online presence nowadays, you won't be successful... Who are the online "faces" of the Speedway teams in the UK? Who are the ones getting paid to keep the team in the digital public eye and generating likes, subscribers, and ultimately, more customers?.. The World Class riders, sadly, don't seem to bring 1000 extra so, in this modern world, why not invest in someone who could?... Richard Coleman isn't looking at the sport like a fan, or as an ex rider, (which the other promoters were/are), therefore, hopefully he will keep that cold analytical approach and start to influence better use of what is, given the size of the sport, a huge outlay each season to the riders.. Upon reflection. Maybe "utopia" could be one World Class rider per team, with a costed plan to increase their numbers as and when income streams justify it?.. However. With no aggressive digital platform presence, it will all be irrelevant anyway..

It’s nothing to do with liking it or not. Speak to your recently acquired Poole friends and they’ll tell you what you’ve just spotted has been going on for years so your doom and gloom about the future of the stadium and surrounding area isn’t news. As I said, your attempts at bringing down the team and the stadium say everything about you and nothing about Poole.

You should worry more about your own team, if they can't win at home, nobody will bother to turn up.

Lebedevs isn't finishing top 7 unless he has a stellar Riga and his form improves elsewhere. Hasn't been as good this year.

Tungate getting in means Doyle & Fricke won't get a wildcard. Bewley, Holder will....suspect Lindgren over Dudek. Although after winning a GP maybe Thomsen rather than Lindgren. Bewley & Holder will be in.

Batch had a bad night but u can see in the pits he was working on 2 bikes and heard him say he has ordered a new engine,and ofcourse he turns up week after week,give him a bit of slack.
