  1. Past hour
  2. Only problem is uncle Jim does not like Glasgow, it's Edinburgh he favours, but hopefully he's been told to watch out for loose elastic on the starting gate 😁
  3. now come off it its never been known uncle jim has never been biased towards Edinburgh
  4. From some well connected Tigger fans a few weeks ago, marra 😄
  5. Could be some bias refereeing decisions tonight as there is a Scottish ref! 🫣
  6. That's a good question. No supply but plenty of rider demand if new tracks did appear (and doubling up would probably prosper). There are training tracks ongoing I believe. So maybe a couple of years as now until expansions? I just think that 6 and 7 team leagues are not exciting the evermore dwindling support. And while I confess to not helping any positive outcome I like to post here to see if anyone can help the dying sport.
  7. I've had me a pre meeting flat white and sum toast but only with butter. Jam gives me wind!
  8. Taken from the Comets website: Denham shares some details on a extra meeting to add to the diary in September: “We are going to run a meeting in the memory of Jay Cartmell. Jay’s mum and dad Leigha and James have done a great job so far of organising it – we just have few things to put in place before we confirm any details. So far it looks a cracking lineup and it will be a four-team tournament style, something which we don’t see anymore in speedway. It’s a really good cause for the fans to get behind and hopefully it will be an entertaining meeting with a good crowd.” “We should be a position to announce more details next Sunday at home to Berwick but if anyone wants to help out with the meeting, as there is a few costs associated with running it, then please get in touch with either the club or get in touch with Leigha or James.” There's a post on the Comets Facebook Page that enables you to message Leigha Cartmell.
  9. I've not suggested watering down our league, quite the opposite. Do this to ensure we keep hold of the top guys
  10. Today
  11. ....and the light rain shower comes just as predicted!!
  12. Featured as the main report on BBC Points West this lunchtime. Mainly focused on the opposition to the plans speaking to the resident next door to the site and someone worried about the impact on the crematorium. Also some words from Steve Park who basically said if this doesn't work out then it's unlikely there's anywhere else.
  13. Speedway decline was when Poland and Sweden overtook them in places Riders wanted to ride first . teams got weaker crowds dropped and the rest have been a slow death.Like many and like life itself some great memories that sadly you are unlikely to experience again.
  14. Well it was on Saturday. All the shale must have blown off the track
  15. I’m not sure it was different way back when it’s just the perception of it felt different but nowadays with social media we see a lot more of riders lives
  16. Lots of deckchair shuffling on here. If the BSPL don't change the fundamental approach to where and how meetings are staged plenty more tracks will eventually fall victim to the land value, greedy developer disease.
  17. LEICESTER: Max Fricke, Luke Becker, Ryan Douglas, Kyle Howarth, Sam Masters, Drew Kemp, Joe Thompson. BIRMINGHAM: Tobiasz Musielak, Jonas Jeppesen, Keynan Rew, Paco Castagna, Matej Zagar, Simon Lambert, Sam Hagon.
  18. Matt ford was/is a damn good promoter who knows how to exploit the rules but that’s not the problem, the problem is he is part of the group who make and enforce the rules, marking you’re own homework comes to mind
  19. Where would riders come from for any new tracks? Six teams seems to the maximum to be even semi competitive in the top tier... Andt seven, maybe eight, in the 2nd tier... All the tracks lost over the past few years, and still doubling up is fundamental to the sport...
