Swindon Robins 2020

Recommended Posts

Unfortunately, I think Osborne played a blinder with Swindon. Make excuses why they couldnt run for a couple of years, then by the time they delivered the killer blow, half the supporters had moved on already. If this had happened immediately after the 2019 league win the fans would have been up in arms.

They did a similar thing with us at Reading,  promise a new track next year, oh sorry maybe the year after. Then maybe next year, before you know it, not enough people care...

Such a freaking shame re: Swindon. Nutshell: once all the housing started sprouting like daffodills, never gonna happen covenent or not, else there would be a track at the end of every street in every town, sad but true  Like I said: a feaking shame.....

Let’s hope the council do the right thing for once and make sure that planning is followed

If Savills are so brilliant, why do they need the public to find a new site ? Sounds like more BS.

I'm afraid it sounds more of the same...the good folk of Swindon have been well and truly sold down the river with half promises and lies.

Absolutely no need to look for a new site. There is a track and a landlord who has to build a new stand at the Abbey.

I was going to suggest...

"What about the Abbey Stadium?"...

Decades of Speedway heritage there, and perfect for a rebuild and track reshape now Greyhounds have gone..

A "blank canvas" on which to build too...

Would be perfect I would suggest...

Can't think why it hasnt been chosen...

If anyone wants to see the current state of the stadium  well that which can be seen from the camera position.  Sky Sports Racing are showing Greyhounds from there tomorrow from 10:30am.
