In that case today was just the practice session then

So when they reconvene, the meeting room might be prepared differently to the practice session then? That could catch could catch some promoters out and affect their decision making.

At least the Leicester logo has gone to the Premiership clubs section on Speedwaygb

Just into the Speedwaygb site and Leicester are back in the Championship section of the website. Did someone jump the gun or has a massive spanner been thrown into the best laid plans?

Apparently, Chris Harris will be making a guest appearance for 2 of the promoters that can't make the rearranged fixture!

What's going to change? Well my guess is a big fat zero! It's probably sad but important to remember that in the current climate not all clubs may make it to the tapes in 2023. Perhaps that is what the hold up is. Not all clubs are giving assurances they can be financially viable?

Well he would have been if he hadn’t injured himself laughing at the prospect. Four other promoters are now eligible to take an additional vote to cover his absence.

The AGM should be nothing more than a "nodding exercise" given everything would have already been discussed and pretty much agreed..

Danny Ford said as much in that Echo interview didnt he?

Gone are the days of the room becoming a "bear pit" where the promoters end up arguing with each other to get across their own agenda..

Hence, all the "leg work" is done during regular meetings during the season..

Therefore. "Strange" that no announcements were forthcoming immediately...

Have they put a "deadline" as to when the announcement will need to be made by?

One that they can then fail to meet... :D

Wonder if it was the biscuit choices that were the stumbling block...;)

While on the surface we can joke about this being a typically Speedway thing, worryingly this slack regard for deadlines is creeping into the sport more and more. The 2021 season overran into November. Once that horse had bolted it then became fine for 2022 to overrun too despite plenty of Speedway free dates in the summer.

We’ve now got an AGM overrunning when the entire purpose of the meeting is archaic anyway. The rules and regs should be sorted way in advance and teams can decide where they best fit into that system as opposed to a system that fits a majority of clubs at both levels and the rest then having to slot in where they’re least likely to go bankrupt.

If the sport wants to be presented as professional then it has to act that way.

Maybe it’s to do with new owners at 2 clubs requiring a different league?

I reckon there will only be one promotion change. And that will be at Peterborough

buster wont sell lynn. If he does it will be to Brady and he’s over in Australia

Sounds like he's sold both already but we will see.

Clearly Danny Ford would have been wise to keep his mouth shut and to have waited for i's and t's to be dotted and crossed.

Suggestions , are that issues with PL and CL are completely different ,with a few spanners thrown in works of the latter at the very last minute which have been resolved but which mean significantly different to initial plans, and a logistical issue with the former (PL) which needs to be resolved.

Hopefully everyone will have a clearer picture tomorrow.

Only in Speedway ;)

Few things to iron out.

1. Who's going to make the Tea/Coffee.

2. Will the hot drinks be served with Custard Creams or Bourbons.

3. Triple check everything to stop Belle Vue from finding any loopholes again.

Leicester finished their league fixtures on July 24th. They did not have plenty of free dates: the only free date for other competitions came later but no other team was prepared to fulfil the fixture.
