Of maybe they feel the £100k plus they will get off the TV deal means it will be viable? 8 home meetings a month for the two top division teams would mean around a £200 outlay for anyone wishing to attend all of them.. Some ask given the current pressures on disposable income.. Hope it all goes well, never been to Oxford so will make it hopefully next year... Think you done a miscalculation on the amount of meetings a month at home for the top 2 leagues.Going by last year they will only have 20 home meetings in total for the league meetings. One a week for less than 5 months if they don't have rain offs.Still a big gamble though. You won't get weekly Speedway though, and that will be the challenge.. Rain offs will inevitably impact it, as will the SON.. If both teams reach the play offs it will be carnage trying to fit all the meetings in.. Look how hard it is now for both Leagues to finish "on time".. Next season, Oxford will have double the challenge.. If they reach the play offs in both leagues it will be like Workington in their treble season, racing god knows how many tines in that last month.. A disaster for the club sadly, in what was the pinnacle of their history... Edited November 17, 2023 by mikebv

It can be done, they just have to do it perfectly. When the SON etc is on they have to ride CL and just hope they don't have rain offs.I remember the days of about 30 home matches so it can be done, although more challenging these days.
Skidder1 7,637 Posted November 17, 2023 Fixture planning in 2024 with 3 teams will be a nightmare with Olympics and Euro '24 also taking place!!
Teromaafan 586 Posted November 17, 2023 Like others have posted, Oxford would appear to be taking a massive financial risk with teams in both tiers. It could all go very wrong but I applaud their approach and enthusiasm. A breath of fresh air for the sport in this country.
Daniel Smith 5,666 Posted November 17, 2023 Representing in the top league, surely they should be the Cheetahs & the lesser name in the Championship. Random decision to me. Oxford must have some serious backer to be running 3 leagues or the conspiracy theorist in me is thinking it's purely for the TV financial package, and Oxford withdraw from the top division after a month
stevehone 3,430 Posted November 17, 2023 wonder if Oxford have to pay a bond for each team, could work out expensive if they do
