Quite simple. The countdown clock is for 2 mins. Riders must be in position waiting for green light at zero. At zero the green light comes on. If a riders front wheel isn’t in position and rider ready to drop clutch, they are out.

That's just farcical. If it rains for the meeting in 3 weeks time it means your fans won't have seen speedway for 6 weeks! Whatever the problems, rationing the sport is not the answer.

I'd have thought it's common sense to allow a guest when the situation is out of the rider and club's control. Not sure teams riding under protest does the sport any good to be honest.

Bearing in mind the number of cancelled meetings we have had since the introduction of the fixtures list I would've thought it would be imperative to amend the list now instead of waiting till the end of the season, like last year, when clubs needed to play 3 or 4 meetings in a week just to get them in.. Surely, we are not going to do that fiasco again...... It needs to be sorted NOW.......

Since 2014 Worrall has progressed from being a National League rider, through the fast track reserve system to his present position where he has the second highest average in the CL, only Nicholls, on an assessed average, is above him and the third highest average in the Belle Vue team. There is nothing in that history to indicate that he has achieved his level and that he will not progress further. Those who have actually watched him at the NSS this year have seen performances which showed that he has made a further step up the ladder and that is why we shall be weaker without him on Monday. It also shows the paucity of an argument when those making it feel the need to exaggerate what has been said. Nobody has claimed that that he is going to be a big star or, that he is going to score double figures every week. What we are talking about is his immediate form and a meeting on Monday, not what might or might not be the situation in months to come. Time will tell how far he progresses but there is no doubt in my mind that we have not yet by any means seen the end of his development.

Meetings between these two rarely disappoint and this was another cracker watched by a huge crowd with plenty of travelling support , from Ht1 that saw Doolan and Worrall passing and re-passing right up to Ht15 that saw a typically spectacular ride from Chris Harris there was value for money in every race. Big crowd, great racing, close score, value for money and a meeting done and dusted in good time, more of the same each week please, the speedway season has started.

Just caught up with the last few heats of this on YouTube after going out earlier. Gotta be said the Polish league do most things better than the UK but which imbecile came up with the rule about not being able to award a race? Wroclaw were robbed of a draw there. Woffy and Drabik a mile in front of Doyle entering bend 3 on the last lap and cos the Torun junior had fallen it got re-run!!! Pathetic decision and a 5-1 turned into a 3-3 and they were robbed of a draw. Surely now if you’re last and out of contention you just need to drop it to get a re-run for your team?? Scandalous

I only live 7 miles from Lakeside, but the meeting on Friday sums up why I would rather drive 60 miles to go to Ipswich than watch at Lakeside where the dirt is still lacking. Riders trying to go wide just went backwards as there was nothing to give them any drive. Why they decided to water the outside of the track during the meeting baffles me as there was nothing to water, and this led to the two riders coming down in heat 8 as it was like an ice rink. Both riders should've been put back in. Congrats to Lakeside on the win, and to Connor on his impressive showing. The tactical substitute rule is a waste of time, better than the double points but you should be able to use it more than once.

We move on to round 3 next weekend. Easy Poole win. Our reserves will get outscored heavily and we will get battered. There will be a few matches like this until the inevitable mid season change is made.

Great to see some more speedway after the crap weather and great to see a huge reduction in tractor racing at Worky Top marks for Ricky. Erik was superb but he cost us dearly with his 2 min X in ht 9. Rene was naughty in ht 13 leaving Erik nowhere to go on the final bends 3/4, Erik was lucky to stay aboard We can be happy with an away point. The 2 new guys scored 3 each and we have to give them time to settle. Josh seems to have some problems but will sort them out. Matt did well but was hard on BWD coming out of b2L1 ht 14 and a great effort from BWD to (1) stay aboard (2) get in front thereafter..... impressive Congrats to Worky - Jensen was very impressive and points from 1-7 Highlight for me has to be seeing baby Cook!!!!!!!!!!

With the forecast good we are looking forward to coming up for this. Nice when it’s an 9 hour round trip to know it’s not going to be a wasted journey or have the stress of dodgy weather. Lets hope there’s a good crowd there tomorrow night. Should be a cracking meeting.

Thanks for clearing that up. For me the trust in the promotion is very fragile. Hope this meeting is enjoyable for everyone who attends, weather is set to be perfect so no excuses.

Reckon this will be closer than some Poole fans think. Can see Ellis smashing double figures alongside Batch. If our reserves pick up 10 then who knows. Personally I don’t think the Poole team is all that. Lots of it, buts & maybes. Underestimate Swindon at your peril.

What are the rules regarding the number 8 rider, can they replace any rider at any point in the meeting? Do the reserves have to take 3 rides?

I'm a King's Lynn fan! And given the choice I'd love to see the Aces stuff Poole, but with Worrall out, Etheridge carrying an injury and Cook's head probably elsewhere I can't see anything other than Poole winning by 8-10 points. Would love to be wrong though.
