  1. So what evidence do you have of that ? An honorable man involved in that budget has already stated you are incorrect, so maybe you could provide us the evidence to back up your opinion...

  2. Instead of being an arse on here and seeing that you seem to have a lot of time on your hands, why not pop down to the stadium and offer to help with the covers. They may even offer you free admission as a reward

  4. This one has a cracker written all over it. Strong heat leaders on both sides and some of the best young talent also on show. Tough one to call but Im thinking the Bears will take the points, but by a slender margin. Get along and enjoy some top class action on one of the very best race tracks in the country.

  5. Just thought I'd have a quick look to see how Swindon's new stadium was coming along, but I seem to have stumbled onto a Belle Vue slanging match thread.

  6. I see once again our club are not encouraging families to come to speedway in Poole with there charges for children only the under fives are free considering most clubs give good discounts for under sixteen year olds in fact most are free !!!!

  7. We are far from sad and confused we all know your a clown , no confusion there.

  8. Come now, that doesn’t fit in with the agenda. As I’ve said before twenty other riders didn’t have an issue with the club themes including bigger names than Mr Cook.

  10. Sorry Orion and pinny, but you have the attitude “you know best” and in spite of what was said as an alternative you both went on as if you were right others wrong. What we don’t know, unless I missed the headlines, what part did the speedway promotors association have in the final outcome. There seemed to be a lot of jealousy from some quarters, “the cheek of it all, someone getting the council to not only support a new stadium in the middle of housing, but to actually get them to pay for it, millions at that”. Maybe you two are of that class, after all, one of you shows location as Aussie, and the other in noodle land. Anyway, this is a Swindon thread, so as pointed out we are well off topic.

  11. I take it Peterbrough altered their track then, i'm sure last time I went show ground was big fast and open. young Dan needs time and no pressure putting on him

  12. I just can't see where fans standing around on a cold night waiting for Twitter votes to be made and counted can be entertaining . I think this voting by the fans idea is ridiculous .

  13. I wouldn't take to much notice of Daniel,he wants all the East Anglian clubs to fail. Bit miffed to see such a scoreline, but it is early doors.Wouldn't have minded so much if these scores went onto the averages but i don't think they do.If they did i would like to have thought they were average manipulating already,in earnest to make changes for the PL. Anyway congratulations to Ipswich on the demolition of my Stars teamObviously the best team by far on the night.Hopefully we will get some kind of revenge in 11 days time. That will be the first match i will be able to attend this season.Hoping to see plenty of Witches fans there.

  14. Anyone think this Stars team will deliver needs a reality check. Reserves abysmal and asking Kerr to deliver in the top 5 is a an ask. If Lambert has a bad day we're stuffed as proven. 1st meeting of the season or not, we've been shown up big time against the other weakest team in the league. Let the Wooden Spoon battle commence with this current septet.

  20. Ostergaard has struggled last 3 years now, but lets be honest Newman seems to have struggled again last night, but every year people keep saying he's a bargain average. The Brummies in for a long season

  21. It'll be an easy home win, not because BV have a particularly good team but because t'other lot have cut their own throats.

  22. Indeed, doesn’t seem like a money issue to me. Harris released to bolster Ipswich and solve the Tungate issue, Cook didn’t sign due to the sponsorship disagreement. Could be wrong of course but that’s how it looks to me.

  23. Let me start this off: Tommy Miller, Charlie Monk (for sure), Roy Trigg, Norman Hunter, George Hunter would reckon these guys would have graced the World Final more than some of 'em did. What say other forumlanders?

  24. An outstanding performance from all 7 Ipswich riders. All this tosh about a weak side for God's sake givem a chance before we slate people after a couple of meetings. We put the arch enemy to the sword, what more do people want.

  25. Sadly you are right. Embarrassing score from the Stars team. Ipswich are a poor team and Stars are a lot worse.

  26. I've re-read your last post about Ulrich, but your grammar is so rubbish it doesn't really make sense! if you're so proud to be a Brummie, then back the guy and give him a chance!

  27. Max Grosskreutz... favourite to win in 1936, but got injured and missed the qualifiers. He lent his bike to fellow Aussie Bluey Wilkinson, who raced to a 15-point-maximum at Wembley on his steed. Grosskreutz subsequently retired and became manager of Norwich. He raced the odd meeting for them, and made a brief comeback post-war.

  28. Don't flatter yourselves,i'm sure if the money was to his liking he would ride for anyone who wanted him

  29. Am I right in thinking that the reserves only get 3 rides in the 13 heat format? Regarding the nominations for heats 14 & 15, the top 2 scorers are held for heat 15 & the next 4 are chosen as nominees. A top reserve is in this 4 who has scored 7 or 8 but is not chosen & 2 poorer riders are. There is nothing in the rules to stop a manipulation in 1 of these riders to go through the tapes bring in the reserve.

  30. Your probably right buddy . I thought Nathan and Max rode well hopefully they can really kick on this season and maybe find a top flight spot somewhere.

  31. Difficult to say really, I would expect him to improve as the season progresses but may struggle to start with. Interestingly on Tuesday he said he prefers racing on big tracks as opposed to tight technical ones so will be interesting to see his progression at Monmore. Ashley Morris looks to be a great signing for Birmingham by the way.

  32. Was going to say the same, Tungate and Harris probably similar stats wise, but you’d watch Harris over Tungate all day long.

  33. Well even if it wasn’t borrowed , they still had a brand new track and stadium built for them . He must of overseen something , or are you suggesting all that money was ploughed in by the council and the subcontractors were simply given a set of plans and told off you go? Not a chance.

  34. Doesn't the new Belle Vue track and its construction problem have its own thread elsewhere on the BSF? Any news on Swindon?

  35. I wouldn't take too much from Tungate's performance on Monday, which certainly want bad. He is not as good as Fricke or Bjerre but neither is Harris. Tungate was one of the most exciting riders to watch at the NSS. Give him a well prepared track with various racing lines and I'm sure he will soon win the fans round. He can sometimes struggle on small tracks, particularly Wolverhampton but my bet is that this season he will average about the same or better than Bomber.

  36. You said "With the amount of money they borrowed it would be hard to put a foot wrong regarding the whole stadium and track, but of course they did". Mort and Gordon did not borrow money to fund the stadium - MCCouncil built the stadium, the promotors were renting the stadium from MCC, as now. As I understand, M&G could not be involved with the building of the stadium, including the track. Not allowed by MCC, who worked through its sub contractor, not M&G. I dont know what went on for them to be behind with the rent, probably you dont either. However the cancellation of the first meeting, caused by MCC/Sub contractors would have been a heavy loss for M&G (star field needing paying etc). Perhaps they were having a tussle with MCC for compensation, and at the same time having to sort out paying the stars, and trying to run the club - difficult I would imagine. As I said "I want to read the book". More then likely someone like MCC will have gagging orders. but may be in years to come we will know the truth. Its all been said before on this forum.

Then in 2021 the new bells and whistles super douber new 8000 capacity stadium will open, but I doubt they Will get 8000 in total over a full season in there, white elephants spring to mind

  39. I believe that Ged and Neil were deliberately left exposed to be totally undermined later. Revenge is a dish best served cold!!

  40. maybe Ged built a team that HE was going to track with the backing of T Balfe? Ged went and T Balfe went, leaving the shortfall? just a guess

  41. Why would this idea make people not go? If people don’t like the concept then just pretend it doesn’t exist and treat heat 14 as another nominated heat, go to enjoy the racing and don’t worry about it.

  43. I think he may be looking through Rose tinted glasses, I remember in the past, some races never got the 2 minute klaxon, riders came straight out, little or no digging, lined up and that was that.. The 2 minute klaxon only seemed to sound if riders were in trouble with bikes etc...

  44. I'd rather say it was a typical Pawlicki fall, like he has performed many times. Certainly nothing to justify Darcy Ward's twitter comment, what's wrong with him? There nothing dirty about Nicki's riding in this race.
