Just thought I'd have a quick look to see how Swindon's new stadium was coming along, but I seem to have stumbled onto a Belle Vue slanging match thread.

I see once again our club are not encouraging families to come to speedway in Poole with there charges for children only the under fives are free considering most clubs give good discounts for under sixteen year olds in fact most are free !!!!

Come now, that doesn’t fit in with the agenda. As I’ve said before twenty other riders didn’t have an issue with the club themes including bigger names than Mr Cook.

There seemed to be a lot of jealousy from some quarters, “the cheek of it all, someone getting the council to not only support a new stadium in the middle of housing, but to actually get them to pay for it, millions at that”. I just can't see where fans standing around on a cold night waiting for Twitter votes to be made and counted can be entertaining . I think this voting by the fans idea is ridiculous .

I wouldn't take to much notice of Daniel,he wants all the East Anglian clubs to fail. Anyone think this Stars team will deliver needs a reality check. Reserves abysmal and asking Kerr to deliver in the top 5 is a an ask. If Lambert has a bad day we're stuffed as proven. 1st meeting of the season or not, we've been shown up big time against the other weakest team in the league. Let the Wooden Spoon battle commence with this current septet.

Am I right in thinking that the reserves only get 3 rides in the 13 heat format? Regarding the nominations for heats 14 & 15, the top 2 scorers are held for heat 15 & the next 4 are chosen as nominees. A top reserve is in this 4 who has scored 7 or 8 but is not chosen & 2 poorer riders are. There is nothing in the rules to stop a manipulation in 1 of these riders to go through the tapes bring in the reserve.

Your probably right buddy . I thought Nathan and Max rode well hopefully they can really kick on this season and maybe find a top flight spot somewhere.

Difficult to say really, I would expect him to improve as the season progresses but may struggle to start with. Interestingly on Tuesday he said he prefers racing on big tracks as opposed to tight technical ones so will be interesting to see his progression at Monmore. Ashley Morris looks to be a great signing for Birmingham by the way.

Well even if it wasn’t borrowed , they still had a brand new track and stadium built for them . He must of overseen something , or are you suggesting all that money was ploughed in by the council and the subcontractors were simply given a set of plans and told off you go? Not a chance.

I wouldn't take too much from Tungate's performance on Monday, which certainly want bad. He is not as good as Fricke or Bjerre but neither is Harris. Tungate was one of the most exciting riders to watch at the NSS. Give him a well prepared track with various racing lines and I'm sure he will soon win the fans round. He can sometimes struggle on small tracks, particularly Wolverhampton but my bet is that this season he will average about the same or better than Bomber.

Mort and Gordon did not borrow money to fund the stadium - MCCouncil built the stadium, the promotors were renting the stadium from MCC, as now. As I understand, M&G could not be involved with the building of the stadium, including the track. Not allowed by MCC, who worked through its sub contractor, not M&G. I dont know what went on for them to be behind with the rent, probably you dont either. However the cancellation of the first meeting, caused by MCC/Sub contractors would have been a heavy loss for M&G (star field needing paying etc). Perhaps they were having a tussle with MCC for compensation, and at the same time having to sort out paying the stars, and trying to run the club - difficult I would imagine. As I said "I want to read the book". More then likely someone like MCC will have gagging orders. but may be in years to come we will know the truth. Its all been said before on this forum.

Town are susposed to vacate Derwent park in may for a new pitch to be installed, return in June, the last ever reds match at borough park is around 22 April then reds will play at a lower level (Sunday !!) league from August at Derwent park, but shhhh nothing official yet !! Then in 2021 the new bells and whistles super douber new 8000 capacity stadium will open, but I doubt they Will get 8000 in total over a full season in there, white elephants spring to mind

I think he may be looking through Rose tinted glasses, I remember in the past, some races never got the 2 minute klaxon, riders came straight out, little or no digging, lined up and that was that.. The 2 minute klaxon only seemed to sound if riders were in trouble with bikes etc...

I'd rather say it was a typical Pawlicki fall, like he has performed many times. Certainly nothing to justify Darcy Ward's twitter comment, what's wrong with him? There nothing dirty about Nicki's riding in this race.
