  2. We will never know but last night I think Wright was above Cook's level.

  3. Even he isn’t a patch on Charles Wright for entertainment value. Wright is the most entertaining rider in the whole league.

  4. I though Danny was a moto x convert? Not sure i have ever seen or heard of him on the grass? He is though a true gent and has developed into a class act from what was a very scruffy beginning. There will be plenty who remember his first year at Kent & Rye House where he would fall multiple times in a race, so much so that he developed the ability to slide off and remount in almost one movement. He works tirelessly on his riding and on bettering himself and its really paying off. He also has the theatrics, showmanship and pantomime villian down to a tee so love or loathe him everyone wants to see Danny Ayres. If you ever get the chance to talk to him please do as he is one of the most genuine, honest and lovable people you will ever meet.

  6. This fixture, already looking competitive, has now been spiced by Charles Wright lifting the British Championship. Berwick's usual line-up is Summers, Etheridge, Doolan, Gappmaier, Busk Jakobsen, Garcia & Flint. Redcar will be bringing Riss, Andersen, Palm Toft, Stewart, Wright, Woolley & Greaves -- racing order unconfirmed. Both sides at full strength -- Redcar with their new British champ, plus a new No 1, Erik Riss, who is a double World (long-track) Champion. Bandits remain unbeaten at home in Championship action for over a year, but the recently-revised Bears could be their stiffest test so far this season. If Charles Wright brings the same form he displayed at Belle Vue, Shielfield spectators are in for a treat. Plus, with another tasty wee treat of the NJL mini-match following the main event, Saturday's spectators will be able to enjoy 21 meaningful races for their money. Tell the town -- the new British Champion is coming to Berwick on Saturday night!

  9. I expect he is, especially considering he last rode for Somerset in the top tier. It's also well rumoured he was offered a 'less than handsome deal' to ride for Somerset this year though.

  11. For me Danny was the one man in the line up that would have sold out Cardiff should he have qualified. Crazy as a box of frogs but thats why everyone love him.

  12. danny has a piece on the star website this afternoon, explaining he's disappointed but also philosophical given this time last year he was wondering if he'd ever ride again let alone be challenging for the british title with his arm injury! he said it was a toss up between gate 2 and 3 but went with 2 as otherwise he'd have had both cook and wright underneath him, he said at the end of the day the gate position was immaterial he just didn't make a good enough start!!

  17. Yeah, like Buster had anything to do with his ability or even signed him for any of his clubs . Charles's victory is down to Charles and his team of helpers and sponsors, nothing whatsoever to do with Buster.

  20. Something else I meant to mention as an aside, again in the promoters notes for this meeting there was space dedicated to highlighting how much more difficult it is for the management to keep the club going at present with outside interests etc and along with the continued online abuse this leaves questions to be asked over the winter. Questions over the winter occur annually, with perfectly understandable reason considering the general outlook in the sport and specifically the situation at Cradley with no new home on the horizon (co-incidentally the same promoters notes mention Dudley Council who have stated recently there is no chance of finding anywhere, or words to that effect). It does strike me that the same message has been in every programme this season; I don't know what has been said against the club as I left the Facebook groups where I believe a lot of the vitriol is being posted but the ground seems to be being laid for bad news over the winter. I appreciate the promoters only really have this avenue as a right of reply but that first page of the programme has been a consistent message all season. One other thing worth mentioning, a little bit of beef between Len Silver and Will Pottinger after the Kent match with Len allegedly using some unsavoury language - mentioned a couple of times in the programme how disappointed it left Cradley officials. With Will being Cradley and Eastbourne manager I'm sure he isn't the most popular bloke around Central Park!

  21. We all know Danny is not World Class, but he provided some real entertainment last night with his all out effort, if I was some of the other riders on show who are meant to that much better than Danny I would be embarrassed.!!

  22. He's on less at Redcar than he was at Somerset. Don't believe what your leaders spread,.

  24. His fan interaction is in a league of it's own. An absolute legend at Kent, one of the few riders in British speedway that genuinely puts bums on seats. Periodically people suggest that the NL should be for young riders only. For example I have seen suggestions that NL reserves should be under 25 - that would have ruled Danny out from ever getting started in the sport.

  30. I have to agree Wright rode fantastically , has really come on this year. To pull so far clear in the races that mattered most was astounding. He is really developing in to a terrific rider and I am not sure a fully fit Robert Lambert would have beaten him .

  31. Putting them in is fine but the cap needs to be at the top end. having riders on 10 point averages and 2 point averages on the line together is never going to produce an entertaining product. It might also be sensible to cap it to one 2.00 rider per team so there is more completion for spaces and there fore push the standard up rather than the current situation where there are many sub standard riders competing in the championship.

  35. Last night great racing on great race track- get the track right that’s what you get - sadly most BT league meetings are one big bore fest - there is absolutely no reason why Kings Lynn couldn’t produce racing like last night given the will that is to use proper shale rather than dirt.

  39. Plenty of free parking at the stadium. My favourite chippy in Eastbourne is Qualisea, which is at the seafront end of the main shopping street.

  40. Big opportunity for every BSF poster to have their say on the Kartway's Facebook page. Over 280 had posted last time I checked with most POLITELY requesting the inclusion of speedway in any future plans for the stadium. JUST DO IT.

  43. Had a great weekend. Leszno v Lublin friday, Torun SEC saturday & ZG v Bartosz Zmarzlik on sunday. A lot of time on the bus/trains but worth it just for the atmosphere at ZG from their turn1 - 2 fans. Lovely to meet up with all the British Fans travelling independently especially Jimmy. Hope to see some of you at Wroclaw GP. Another Polish Speedway feast this weekend to come at reasonable `do-it-yourself prices. Weather permitting of course.

  45. Watched Danny for and against Cradley over the last few years, he's always been quick and exactly the kind of rider speedway needs. Really interacts well with the fans both on and off track and great to watch. I think in previous years he has been prone to a mistake here and there which kept him from making the step up but that seems to have been solved this season so far. Long may it continue

  49. Sarjeant being a Leicester asset was sent a contract to sign and return to ride for his parent club's BCL team. He did not do so and did not contact the club to explain why. When he was asked to explain he said that he had signed for Glasgow as they had offered him more money. Leicester were then entitled to ask for a fee to compensate them having had to buy him in the first place or presumably they could have prevented him from joining Glasgow. Leicester however then offered his place to Ellis Perks who as it happens is doing a better job than Sarjeant ever could.
