So Australia rode their 4 heats against the teams who finished in the top 4, Russia, Poland, Denmark and Sweden.. If they'd got to ride against GB and the Czechs they would of been making the top 3 easily, just shows how ridiculous calling a meeting part-way through is. Mark Lemon was quite right to be a bit pissed off!7 points

Hopefully, and with a better choice of when to run it we might well not get the complete farce tonight’s match was. That meeting was a dreadful advert for the sport and should never have started.4 points

You call it "cup"... and I call it CRAP. Bring back Daily Mirror Tournament of 1973...then we can talk about CUP...if not that then a minimum of 5 riders from each competing nation...and if not even that, ten four riders as we used to have few years back...two ridewrs don't make a team... its a pair and I don't have argument with this. So don't call "cup", don't call it SoN, byt call what it is..Pairs Championship4 points

Oh dear, what was that! Surely it should have been postponed until tomorrow morning. Speedway really does itself no favours at times.4 points

I don’t know why nobody on this thread has suggested moving the event to Torun. The weather there is good all weekend apparently and it’s only a four hour drive away...4 points

To the riders I have the upper most respect and well done for riding but in the interest of the the sport the meeting should not have started it's made it look like a Micky mouse sport again3 points

I have to disagree Steve. Janowski and Pawlicki pulled sickies in order to miss a Polish international match. Zmarzlik is better than both Janowski and Pawlicki but he still shows up to every international match. Polish fans are very much behind Cieslak.2 points

He has been my favourite rider for the past seven years, but he can be frustratingly inconsistent. When on top form he is undoubtedly the most talented and exciting rider in the world.2 points

Sportowe Fakty are posting live updates from the track. If you have translating software installed this may be of help. https://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/905234/zuzel-wielkie-odliczanie-do-jednodniowego-finalu-speedway-of-nations-na-zywo They report: 3.26 (UK) - rain stopped. 3.42 (UK) - Preparations underway 4.21 (UK) - Photo of wet track being worked on. Wet and even, not a ploughed field. ***UPDATE**** 4.31 Photos of track work. Dry straight + wet bend. 4.34 Not raining but high humidity could be problem. Looking optimistic.2 points

BIT confused because the Ove Fundin trophy is normally awarded to the winners and it looks nothing like that ...2 points

"He looks like a flying hairpin"... you don't get Speedway commentary like that anymore, brilliant!2 points

It can be wet or dry in July, August or October. There is no pattern to the UK weather, it is pot luck what we get. Maybe it's best later in our year to give the best chance of having crowds back2 points

It would be sensible to change date, but why did their E-mail regarding postponement tell everybody it was going to be in October next year.IMO it was to hold on to as much money as possible regarding the sell out this year, hoping fans would just “ go with the flow” without the hassle of re- booking their seats.Money grabbing at its best.Still no sign of my refund from 23rd Aug e-mail to them requesting one.Very Poor.1 point

Just whizzed through the meeting, what an awful spectacle apart from one lap by Emil. Glad everyone got through in one piece. Not a good advert.1 point

Can’t think who you are referring to At least if the whole event is rained off no one has to take that trophy home.1 point

We won 54%-46%. Thanks to anyone that voted. We have Liverpool in the final, so I plead with Man U fans and everyone else give us a vote next week1 point

It's fun to look back at these old videos and compare them with modern times....Lee would have been warned for the ridiculous jump start in the first race of his that they showed and then he would have been excluded with his jump in the second race of his they showed. If he had even still been in the semi final after that exclusion, he definitely would have been gone for tape charging there... Also, much as I love the old Dave Lanning commetary..."It's a very even break" he says, and then tells us Betzl has been left....How is that even when one of the two title contenders is waaay behind the other But, the main thing that I wondered about during that video, as it's something that I have often contemplated when watching these old videos...What were those people typing about behind Dickie Davies?1 point

I guess nobody is ever going to win this debate. I agree that the REAL Wimbledon (A club I once supported too) is now Milton Keynes. But I can see the other side of the discussion too, although as I said, I don't agree with it. I can see it being a financial disaster for them, and whilst I despise the past, I would feel sorry for the supporters of AFC Wimbledon if that should happen.1 point
