Imagine if Poland ran with this? I am sure Betard would be delighted for Woffy to top score for Gorzow to help knock Wroclaw out of a play off slot.. I am sure that they would also be both eager and delighted to sign off their several hundred thousand euro sponsorship deals for both team and individual again for next year... Whilst such nonsense exists, the sport can never move forward.. No matter what else they try and do to improve its following.. "Being taken seriously" and "Having credibility" are two simple and very, very, basic fundamentals if you want to attract investment or just basic custom...5 points

Cook going back to Lynn as a Witch , Heeps with a point to prove for being dropped by the Witches , Local derby match , every team deserves a share of being shown with sponsors in mind .4 points

Can't argue with that but at least the replacement has similar or lower average In this case its 3 points higher on true form but masked by the RS grading system I'm thinking that perhaps Ioswich should replace Anders with a new signing up to his 5.49 average and then replace Drew with Anders as the RS Can't see anything in the rules to prevent that....3 points

Lynn riding without luck at the moment. Injuries galore. ☹️ Hope Rory isn’t seriously injured. Don’t think he would have given KL a home win, ( would have had 2 third places if he hadn’t fallen) but a closer defeat. Let’s face up to the facts and recognise that this Panthers team , cleverly built from a group of very experienced riders, are actually still pretty good, and showing up how poor most of the other Premiership teams are in 2021.2 points

Lynn looked better. I hope Rory is ok.TJ would of had 7 rides tonight. 4 plus 15 and an RR plus a Tac Sub. Would of been closer. Well done Panthers. Pretty good crowd. A good 10002 points

Feel sorry for Lynn tonight, decent guest in Schlein who comes off and only gets 1 point. OK, they were up against a buoyant Panthers but it could have been tighter.2 points

Tonight's events see 2 great late passes by a Witches rider earn Sheffield 3 match points they otherwise would likely not have got and all but condemn our play off hopes Sheffield were vulnerable in 4th place and the only realistic position for us to catch I'm done with it and won't be attending next week. Why should I pay £19 for this shambles of a sport2 points

Congratulations Anders on 2 great passes late on to earn Sheffield 3 points and ensure his own team has less chance of making the play offs.......2 points

Sad though it is for Paul Hurry - Steve is absolutely correct. Why on earth Len signed Paul straight into a CL berth - maybe in the hope of attracting a few nostalgic Lakeside fans to come and watch? - it has clearly been shown to be an error of judgement. He has been struggling to complete 4 laps of Central Park without taking a fall, and I really do wonder about his fitness to race competitively after so many injuries.2 points

Maybe they can use r/r for Makovsky as well , speedway rules are totally bonkers2 points

Revolving door Poole never change their spots. Kelleher may have got a nice move there, a Team who aren't riding half their Fixtures to a Team who seem to be riding all Home and Away matches unless Rain or opponents putting hold on season intervene. Regular pay or spasmodic pay...looks like Kelleher may have dodged a bullet2 points

Far from bumpy, best its been for years, dust just started to appear in the last few races2 points

My mistake. I hadn't realised he was so high at the beginning of this season. But he's still done well, pushing it up to 4.83 in the few matches this season.2 points

As predicted a complete walk in the park for Pirates. Thank you Scotty for putting up much needed resistance. Rider of the night IMO with some excellent racing. But the rest of them should have just stayed at home. One man v Poole. And seriously. Paul Hurry? Paul has been a very good servant for British speedway over the years, being a solid second string rider. But watching a tubby middle aged man miss the gate every time and struggle at the back was not good to see. Better he gives his place up to a rising star rider who is desperate for a team spot. His time has gone.2 points

Some you win, some you lose Haza, as you well know, I help in my own little way to keep my club going, that's all I want to do cos I love speedway Haza, you must fecking hate it and want it to close how you carry on!! Why don't you just disappear up your own gearcase2 points

And that is indeed your perogative. Speedway Updates was designed to make the sport accessible to all, as an example, I can no longer travel to away meetings due to disabilites and without the various updates (and not just ours), I would probably have walked (well wheeled) away from the sport years ago. Some people can't afford to attend, some people can't go as they have to work or have family commitments....we have to keep interest in the sport, not push it away.2 points
-
Live steams are important and it is good they are being put on. However, just like in person admission prices, not everyone can afford it. Would we rather people go without entirely and lose more fans or indeed attracting new ones to give it a try or keep chipping away, keeping/sparking an interest and preventing people from walking away from the sport for ever.2 points
-
Given that the update service has been a huge assistance to many across the country for many years and all done entirely by volunteers i think that any attack on it and the great people who have helped is morally wrong. I also don't believe that the two are in competition. Someone will stream or watch the updates or neither. If someone has chosen to not pay the streaming fee i hugely doubt the reason is because someone trackside is sending through a 1-2 line update of the race details.2 points

To be honest if I was a rider I would be the most frustrated of all 'stakeholders' in the sport.... They should be earning fortunes and plying their considerable talents in front of thousands every night... 'Lions led by donkeys' would be most apt .... And good to see Adam racing over here again... Once again tonight, easily one of the best 3 riders on show....1 point

I'm sure that the £1 refund is worth a great deal more to some than it is to others. I seem to recall one Brummies fan choosing to drive to Leicester all season when the re-opened, instead of following the Brummies, just to save £1 a week on his admission. No doubt those eager to save 100 pennies will also print out their own race cards so that they won't need to buy a programme too1 point

I`d love to know why Anderson isnt at Scunthorpe tomorrow night, is he available for Saturday`s meeting with Newcastle. You get the feeling rule makers put the rules together in pencil so they be rubbed out and replaced by something different.1 point

Can't remember how long for but you can view it after it's shown. Maybe like 7-14 days..? Something like that! Edit - it's actually up to 30 days after and as many times as you like!1 point

As farcical as this RS guesting situation is in itself the more pertinent point for me is the impact on his own team If Anders does well then he puts the very slim chance his own team has of catching Sheffield as the vulnerable 4th placed team in deeper jeopardy I suppose the only saving grace is that in the scheme of things the play offs and even winning a championship mean eff all in terms of any tangible reward!1 point

It's an extra £3 for a prog these days though. Perhaps you should get a free race card on entry and then if you choose buy a "Match Day Magazine" for £3. And like I said in a previous post, free entry to the 2nd halves is what initially got me started... to lump out £20 on something you may or may not like is quite a lot these days, especially when there are generally no other offers these days since they stopped reducing the price of TV matches.1 point

Over the years, in large, speedway has relied on regular fans introducing family members or friends to keep it going. The problem arises when these regulars stop attending or pass away, and then speedway's next generation disappears with them. The sport is more than just about the racing spectacle. It sounds off-putting, but newcomers need to be introduced to the art of filling in a programme as soon as possible. Otherwise, however thrilling it initially is - four men skidding at speed into bends - it gets tedious before the end of the night when you don't know what's going on. I recall my first visit in 1975. Until I discovered the merits of keeping a programme, it was thrilling but I wasn't hooked. Perhaps clubs, if they already haven't, should make a special effort to encourage newcomers in groups. Educate them on the basics of the sport and not rely on keeping them just because it's a great spectacle. Speedway is more than that.1 point

I've been going on about this for a while, it ain't going to be cheap, but I do think British Speedway needs some kind of interactive app to attract the kids, especially on race night, with interactive collectables etc. Just something simple, like get selfies with all of the riders in an online album like the old Panini sticker books... and a club emblem badge hidden around the stadium somewhere. Not sure how you'd do swaps though... got, got, got, got, got, got, got, NEED!1 point

Yes, track is a lot better these days! Some people need to put their specs on1 point

Agreed. Paul has suffered some terrible injuries and I think only about 3 times in his career has not finished the season on the injuries list. There comes a time when age and injuries tell your body it’s time to gracefully leave the stage.1 point

What a pointless match to show..not impressed with their coverage..my sky Q box randomly loses its series links which it did this week so thought I'd catch the highlights which only showed 5 races and then 40 mins of waffle and replays...not impressed.1 point

What rules ? Is that the book, written in pencil by one of the top table that can be altered quickly depending on which clubs are involved ?1 point

Indeed they can, the more of us that adopt this stance the greater the chances of them backtracking and putting it on normal tv, I don't enjoy watching with foreign commentary as much as English but I'll live with it, no way will I shell out for the player, on principle alone. From what I gather there was no commentary on the player for the last round anyway, Eurosport are a bunch of tossers.1 point
