  1. I'd report it to whoever was responsible for the surface and ask them to fix it.

  2. With Richard Lawson signing for Plymouth and King's Lynn next season, it looks like more of the same for next year. If something is broke, why try and repair it!

  3. From his Dad Tim is at the hospital for check up. The helmet was broken. Nothing broken. Was unclear so possible for a concussion. Currently being scanned

  4. Whats the need for change - its been a highly succesful season, the p.offs got record crowds , and after the challenges of operating with limited crowds due to COVID restrictions, every club has enjoyed a wonderful season. ...... In the fantastic Championship League ......sadly Eastbourne closed, Birmingham suffered financial problems, Newcastle are looking for new owners, Poole are in discussions over the continued use of their stadium, but other than that it has been a wonderful season with entertainment from the top drawer. The stand out "Premiership" tier has once again delivered first class entertainment, and goes from strength to strength, with the BSPL once again struggling to decide who to admit to this "elite" division of racing. This season we had 6 clubs fighting tooth and nail for the coveted 4 play off spots. The qualifiers for the 4 spots were in doubt until early May and this made for some top quality racing of the highest standard that England can offer. Of particular note in 2021 has been the huge success of the rising star programme which has developed so many new potential world champions for English speedway. None of the rising stars were known in the sport at the beginning of the season, and all are truly the product of the rising star programme. Next season will see twice as many rising stars in teams , and England will once again have top calibre riders to challenge the worlds top Speedway Grand Prix stars.

  5. There is no better speedway referee than Sir Jim. A more honest man you could not wish to meet

  6. It's one of the best in the country, would be a bit silly to judge it on a wet night don't you think.

  9. I attended as a neutral as I have done for all but one of the meetings at Perry Barr this season. As expected there is much debate over where the blame lies for the events last night but one thing for sure is that as ever the fans always suffer on these occasions and the sport seems incapable of preventing such self inflicted damage.

  10. The track was very bad but I had no idea Pirates wanted it off. Completely understandable though as it could have caused serious injury. It was unfit for racing. And so it proved as there wasnt any. Perhaps Danny said to the riders to stay safe and come away in one piece. Wasn’t worth risking an injury.

  11. Well my contacts are telling me this.. It will be one league next season with a fluid rider system for all tracks, an example below Eastbourne will return so Tom Brennan will revert to Eastbourne on his CMA This is not fair on Glasgow so Tom can take his place in their line up too Tom can also ride for Belle Vue as a rising star as they had first dibs When Glasgow face Belle Vue, then Glasgow must use a guest for Tom up to his CMA as he is a rising star and that takes priority for Belle Vue When Glasgow face Eastbourne, then the home team has the use of Tom with R/R used by the away team in the interest of the sport And so forth.. Very simple and well thought out.

  12. 4 guests and R/R says it all really. Sadly

  13. I never said Kasper Andersen was a bad choice just busk Jacob was a safer option, thankfully Kasper turn out to be good. One of the worst meetings I've seen at the EWR in terms of racing but what can you do when you get a down pour before the start of the meeting. I hope you can return in better weather to see what fine racing it can produce.

  17. The meeting wouldnt have survived under normal circumstances. A shame I never photoed the track but clearly they didn’t want anyone on it before the first race. Pressure of the cutoff date clearly influenced Scunthorpe who knew running the meeting would favour them and they took full advantage of it. But all it really did was gift them the three points and seriously short change the paying public by serving up garbage. Perhaps if there was no pressure of cutoff the meeting would have been pulled.

  19. Why? Nothing was reported to be wrong with it. Sometimes you just beaten by the better team. With the two Ben's first time there, was gonna be tough especially if they didn't take a liking to it. Gilkes seemed to do alright, just not meant to be tonight.

  20. Could be 6 aside with no Ostergaard either, I imagine we will see how Nick rides for Leicester. Danny King the most likely guest if we go down that route. Does a guest have to ride in the UK? Thorssell if not

  21. Doing the same thing again and again and expecting a different result is the definition of madness, its clear to most that the current structure and plan just isnt working.

  23. Must be tempting.. No headaches arranging fixtures, even rearranging fixtures, due to all pretty much domiciled over here, and race nights being fixed... No flights to pay for, and no hotels to pay for commuting overseas riders.. No over inflated heat leader type contracts to pay out for the next foreign 4 point averaged "wunderkind" to ride at reserve. Instead you will be paying RS's.. And riders (heat leaders in particular) getting plenty of rides (and opportunity to make money), in both divisions, potentially, given the Div One fixed race nights, being able to ride seven meetings a week, five or even six races a night, with a fair few of the races having an RS up against them.. A win, win for all... Why change something so "good"...

  24. Yeah back then were renting off the football club so track dimensions couldn't really be altered. Now our owners own the stadium they reduced the football pitch to widen the track

  25. I haven't been since Lynn were PL but by all accounts and by what I've seen on YouTube it's a fantastic track too nowadays so probably could have added them to the list too in fairness.

  26. Poole and Manchester are very different areas and demographics so difficult to compare really. Each to their own and I respect your views, but for me the NSS is second to none as a race track with P'boro, Scunny and Redcar next in line. All great shaped tracks with multiple racing lines and most importantly smooth surfaces which riders trust and can race on with confidence.

  27. Cant wait to see a Newcastle player run up to Ronaldo tomorrow, shake his hand and say "well done", after he opens the scoring...

  28. Hold on a minute though, it's early days yet... I don't know how they're going to do it yet but I'm sure the BSPL can do something that will make things worse, just give them time.
