I listened to the 5-1 show interview and it’s incredible the problems and hurdles Gordon and Mort had to get over which took 10 years to get NSS built which was the biggest thing to happen in recent history of speedway ever. They should write a book and also expose the treachery of the BSPA that Mort alluded to in the show.5 points

Glasgow's team total is 41.99, not 42.00, not that it matters as 42.00 is still acceptable. Green sheet averages only go to 2 decimal places. At the beginning of a season, if 2 or more riders are on the same (usually assessed) average, the team management declares the seniority of the riders. Thereafter, when the averages change, if there are 2 or more 'tied', the previous seniority is the prevailing factor.5 points

Heard on the grapevine that the rent issue was finally sorted today. Bring on the team announcements4 points

Whatever team you support, if you think the BSPL raising Woffinden's average so he can't return to Britain would be right then you need your head checked. Nothing should allow this opportunity to be passed up.4 points

Batchelor is more reliable at this level and I can't see Nicholls level dropping. Heep is on a very low average and Thomas has a lot of potential. It seems a very well balanced team, play off material in my view.4 points

I bet "One" used to go to "Ones" local track though..... Took her kids too probably... As for Mort, and Dave Gordon, their legacy is quite conceivably the best race track in the world.. Even if it isnt officially recognised, that will always be the case..4 points

Having Danny King, Steve Worrall and Richard Lawson as 'what's left over' isn't too bad though, is it?3 points
-
No I've not made it up its fact Dillon was in the team and accepted the money, and that come from a very close friend of Dillons. So I've said I got it wrong as in wording. Unlike you who won't admit you got wrong.3 points

Don’t think it was practical for Poole to change their race nights just to suit Basso, fans need a fixed race night, chopping and changing is not good for business. IMO3 points

It was rent BUT the time it was something else which was sorted out it was not all about just rent.3 points

Don't think I have seen him on a 500 but looks good on his 250. He had some good races with Luke and he is the 250cc champion. If he makes progress through the season then that's the main thing. If he has half as good a season as Sam McGurk has just had he will be doing his job in the team.3 points

I disagree about the negative PR bit. Although Dan (and others) are named as #8 for PL sides, they are not guaranteed any outings! So Dan (and others) are predominately going to be CL & NDL riders with the occasional PL outing. Are you saying that Dan (and others) should miss out on potentially 10+ confidence boosting NDL meetings in favour of a few (if any) PL meetings?3 points

I don’t think Trackerman has to make anything up. He was track curator for the second half of last season and it doing the track at Poole in 2022. So pretty sure he hears/knows things straight from the top. And if you are not happy or are very happy with track conditions this coming season, you will be able to discuss it directly with the main guy.2 points

The obvious answer is for track to be guaranteed or provided before planning permission granted . I see no enthusiasm for Speedway in the platitudes issued from prospective developers. Greed and avarice is forever the driving factor..2 points

http://www.speedwaygb.co.uk/news.php?extend.39939 Someone needs to do some homework somewhere! Is he 15 or 16 this year? Is it April or July? No info on his website though.2 points

I'm sure I've seen her at Lynn while she's been staying at Sandringham, wading through the puddles in the back straight car park and queueing for a burger and a pint during during the interval. I wonder if she pays the extra pound to sit or likes to stand on the bends and get a scalp full of shale?2 points

Certainly having Josh at reserve it certainly gave you good options when his real class was starting to show. Very sorry for Mitch and how injuries affected his career. A nice lad who lost his career though injuries.2 points

Like you say it's mostly if have couple of assessed riders in the side. We had it with Josh G in Mitch Davey, put Mitch in main body and Josh at reserve on basis he was probably the stronger. Certainly panned out that way, although Mitchell was severely hampered by injuries, never got a proper crack at it2 points

It seems a strange one that The Queen can honour Mort but nobody in Speedway or at Belle Vue can... And I bet The Queen has never been to the NSS!2 points

That’s when they moved the track back to where it was originally and the dog track was reinstated but they made it wider by bringing the bends in as there was no football anymore. Which is how it still is now.2 points

It would be excellent if British racing can get Tai back in the league for the full season and hopefully additional sponsorship can be found to make the deal happen. Tai and his family are having a new custom built house built at present in the UK as his daughter is due to start school in September so he will be UK based when he can. My understanding is that Tai did let Wolves know of his intentions to return to UK and what sort of deal he was looking for, They decided against it as did another Northern PL club but BV believe that they can raise some additional sponsorship and that he would attract extra fans . BV fits in well to Tai’s schedule as can fly in on Monday from Wrocław his UK full time mechanic is based in North Derbyshire so close by as well2 points

Thanks for that information . It’s very sad, after the way they struggled with Kirky Lane. In a way it seems to encapsulate everything that is chronically wrong with the sport.2 points

Mort and Gordon’s efforts over a period of years were enormous. The way they were treated was disgraceful.2 points
-
Nobody asked them to be a speedway rider though,if the crowds can’t generate enough money to pay them, they should go a get a day job.2 points

I witnessed the hard work Mort put into selling bricks at Cardiff IMO there would be no NSS without his efforts ,I can't understand why he is not involved in some way in the sport now .I have read all that went on but firmly believe that he acted in good faith and in the best interest of the whole project ,IMO he is one of the all time greats of British s/way and has been treated appalingly .His name being honoured somewhere in the NSS is the least that could be done .2 points

As a Poole fan looking in on the the Glasgow have built,am a bit jealous tbh looks quality strength in every department and definite improvement with Brennan potentially going upto atleast 7,basso upto 6-7,think Nicol could we'll get upto a mid 6 aswell. And to take into Consideration that the reserves will improve no doubt also and that alone takes bundles of pressure of ostergaard considering he's coming back from injury and Cook aswell with so much scoring power throughout this team.1 point

Max JAMES turns 15 early July on his birthday he become eligible for the Cubs & he will be brought into the team on his birthday . Max PERRY has signed for Cubs & turns 15 in April which indicates the cubs won’t start till after then. I think Stewart has put together a very good cubs side .1 point

The more you hear about the cronies that make up the BSPL Ltd. the more I wonder whether they are the root cause of British Speedway's continuing decline ? We have the crook at Eastbourne who has disappeared owing riders thousands of pounds getting off scot free, and been instrumental in getting Eastbourne Speedway closed down ... yet Chris Morton is banned from being a promoter for ..... being involved in building a Nation Speedway Stadium, which the BSPA frankly showed no interest !1 point

Ready for what? Ready to take on Dan Gilkes, Jack Smith, Ryàn Kinsley or the Thompsons? Of course not, he's just turned fifteen and has limited 500cc experience. Ready to continue the progress he's made from sessions at Duns, the GB Youth events and for Berwick's Academy side in NJL mini-matches? Absolutely! This coming season, he'll only have to beat the opposing #7's -- home and away -- to justify his team place and repay the faith the GHT Bullets are investing in Ace. By joining local fellow-graduates Mason Watson and Keiran Douglas (and before them, Leon Flint) his recruitment to the NDL side -- emphasis on the 'D' -- displays the Berwick club's continuing determination to 'grow their own'.1 point

yes quite agree like you said on a early post drew kemp should have been our second reserve .still we shall see1 point

Season tickets should be on sale anyway. The die hards will still buy before knowing the team like myself and many others.. If and when they announce the team then people can still buy season tickets in there droves1 point

Would absolutely agree with that.....Lynn dominated the PL as it was at various times between 2005 and 2009 with two trebles and two cup doubles but home meetings were rarely thrilling. However in the eighties and early nineties when we were crap most of the time some of the racing was brilliant and winning meetings was such a great feeling as it didn't happen every week.1 point

Cant agree. Nicola Sturgeon has worked tirelessly for the past two years, keeping the nation's head above water in the face of vindictive and cynical actions by the lying and cheating Westminster posh,-boys. IMO.1 point
